Back from two days of convention. Oh god, it was kinda horrible. I'm not going to go into details right now, but I worked harder at this con then any other con before. And I had some pretty difficult cons before this! Long hours, alone for five tables for a good while, no change, etc, etc. It was. Yurk. Not as well organized as it could have been. The con itself was pretty fun, I got a couple of comics signed. But oh god, my legs. My brain. My eardrums. It all hurts. Ark. But the artists were friendly, and the people too, so it balances out.

Tomorrow, I work again, but only at the bookstore and on website stuff, so it's going to be quiet. And then, in the evening, i,m going to go see the Lion King with a friend. I promise i'll answer your comments tomorrow. But for today my brain is just going FDGDFGRGTRHGBGN CAN'T COMPUTE.

Also, apparently, it only takes the command of three people (asatira, Lily and Juba) to make me draw something. I was asked for a color drawing of Wendy.

So, no, it’s not ethnic River Song, though the resemblance is there. This is Wendy, one of the main cast of my webcomic Namesake. Wendy is the Namesake linked to the world of Neverland. She is part of Calliope, the organization that takes care of Namesakes like her, in a kick-ass team with Alice and Jack. Wendy can fly, has two daggers and a gun and she is the proud wearer of the seven league boots. She’s basically a little army on her own. Despite how much evil jerk she can destroy, she remains the heart of the team and the team mom.

I love her.

In other news, check out this video kids. This man in a piano prodigy who composes emotional pieces on the fly at 16 with no formal training. He is some kind of genius. A Pollock of music. :D

I love him too.

And a vampire I drew to conclude things. I also love vampires. This is still for the kid's clothing thing.

Now, for a shower and bed. I feel like the con was a bit of a bath of B.O. I need to wash it off. It was pretty hot in the building so everyone suffered from it.

I have a contract to draw things to decorate kid's clothing. Isn't it just AWWWWWW? I like this contracts. They are full of fluffy positiveness.

Saturday i,m leaving for wedding number one. I was suppose to go to Ottawa on saturday morning, celebrate and rush back home at night to be able to work the next day. But my boss was nice and gave me a day off, which will allow me to stay longer, help clean up, have brunch with my parents and rest. so it,s a pretty good thing, I suppose. I worry a bit about what all these days off are going to do to my money inflow. But, at least in September, i'm going back to Isa-has-nothing-to-do-except-work mode, so I can catch up a bit and try to save money by eating more sandwitches. Which is cool. Sandwitches are delicious.

I am seriously all about sandwitches made out of cheddard and smocked meat right now. Yummers.

Also, has everyone seen the gender-bent adventure time episode? Because.... Wow. I wish this was the real show and not just the spoof episode. Seriously. You people who do not know adventure time? Whatch this. It is worth 11 minutes of your life.

Good news! Rose is advancing quite at a stable pace. I have 31 pages done (31 pages on 55)  I calculated that if I drew two pages per week day (monday to tuesday) and 6 on every weekend day (Friday-staurday-sunday since I took friday off) I could have the remaining pages drawn by the end of this week. Boo-yah! I don't know if I can do it, but I'm definitly going to try...a lot. Then I can move on to illustrations and other random stuff.

Aside from that, i'm doing well. Link was around during the week and I ended up catching up on my sleep quite a bit. I also got my other book in. I did several illustration for a book, though I didn't write the text, this is the first official (aka with an ISBN) publication with my drawings in it. Rose will be the second (text and illustrations, even better).

I'm not doing to bad for a person just out of school. Several exhibits, contracts and books in only one year. I am, as they say, ON FIRE.

I can't wait for Rose to be finished so I can see the resulting book. I also can't wait to pick up other fandom and serious comic projects. I'm more motivated then ever. Drawing is so amazing :D And plotbunnies are attacking me!

On an unrelated note, you may notice the banner is gone. It's due to a technical difficulty. It should be fixed soon, though I might just remove the banner all together. I've been meaning to change it anyways... This might incite me to work on that.

On a second unrelated note, I am thinking of opening another blog. Either on LJ as well, or Dreamwidth or Blogger (some people suggested I could also do it on deviant art, but I don't like Deviant art that much...) This other blog would be created for me to show off my comic art in a more professional manner. Because even though I have my portfolio website and a Deviant art account, I don't update those often since I don't want to put unfinished things on them. I want something with more frequent updates and sketches... And I know I have it here, but I'm starting to find it creepy to give this URL to people...because yes, it's my comic work, but it's also my life and friends blog.... And some people I just really don't want reading this stuff, though I don't mind them seeing my art. Plus, it sucks to give to an editor an URL that does lead to art, but also to talk of geekery, shoes and sharpie poisoning....Unless they are into that XD.

Over and out!

For [livejournal.com profile] eveshka the commission is finally finished! I really love, love the result! I tried to include the awesome coat and I think I did really well. Let me know what you think!!!!!!!!

Aside from that, I went to a Wake today. The Wake was for a friend of the family, or rather her father, who was murdered by his tenants. It's a pretty horrible story. Sometimes I can't believe people...It was young people too, barely adults. I feel shame for my generation.

On a more positive note, all the family went and when we got home, we had a good family dinner. My little brother even got home on time - he was gone on a road trip with friends and came in right when dinner got to the table. I also managed to draw 4 pages this weekend. YAY!

Here, a few more Princess Tutu fanarts. I'm really into drawing this series. It's a fun series. Fans of things like Sailor Moon and Card Captor Sakura can only fall in love with it. I know I did!

Tutu-ness )

Speaking of Card Captor Sakura, i'm rather angry. It's now impossible to find the books and the Dvds at decent prices because the license expired and the french company went down under. Hell! I have money now! Let me buy you, anime series!!!!!

So if anybody sees a complete series of Sakura for a decent price or wishes to part with theirs, let me know. I'll be glad to go for it!

Over and Out.

I just finished coloring this drawing:

It's going to be the cover of a book. Not a book I wrote, but a book I illustrated. It's going to contain 24 of my drawings. They are all kinda funny drawings that help to illustrate what the book is about. It's a book about cultural diversity in Canada that underlines the problems caused by it (like dress code violations in schools, human rights, religious conflicts) and the good things that come from it (tolerance, difference, art, the power of choice, etc).

Overall it's a cool book. And it's going to be in english. It's written by a retired prof of Ottawa University. One of my painting profs was his friend and recommended me to him. Win!

I really like my tablet. :)

P.s. I'm thinking of drawing a nice Slayers desktop and I want to share. any suggestions?

Yes, another colored illustration. *gasp* i'm going to have to stop before people get used to this kind of treatment! *laughs*
This time, this is actual work I get paid for. It's a publicity for natural products (the killer chi eggs I mentioned a while back, if anybody recalls). I rather like this one. So did the people that comissioned me ^^
It's fun, i'm getting more and more contracts to make illustrations for stuff lately! O_O How cool is that?
I still need to take care of my comic book selection for the bookstore...Damn...i'm late for that.
