I have a contract to draw things to decorate kid's clothing. Isn't it just AWWWWWW? I like this contracts. They are full of fluffy positiveness.

Saturday i,m leaving for wedding number one. I was suppose to go to Ottawa on saturday morning, celebrate and rush back home at night to be able to work the next day. But my boss was nice and gave me a day off, which will allow me to stay longer, help clean up, have brunch with my parents and rest. so it,s a pretty good thing, I suppose. I worry a bit about what all these days off are going to do to my money inflow. But, at least in September, i'm going back to Isa-has-nothing-to-do-except-work mode, so I can catch up a bit and try to save money by eating more sandwitches. Which is cool. Sandwitches are delicious.

I am seriously all about sandwitches made out of cheddard and smocked meat right now. Yummers.

Also, has everyone seen the gender-bent adventure time episode? Because.... Wow. I wish this was the real show and not just the spoof episode. Seriously. You people who do not know adventure time? Whatch this. It is worth 11 minutes of your life.

But not linked to the holidays!

I finished coloring the cover for Namesake's 3rd chapter that should start during the holidays. I kinda wish I had more free time to draw during the holidays, but I just have 2 days off :( So i'll be working while many of the people I know party. Party for my, you guys!

Cover's lineart can be seen here. THIS took 3 hours to ink.

This cover Shows the princess of Oz, Ozma and the Wicked Warlock of the West, Warrick. There's also skulls. The skulls are there because the upcoming Oz storyline kinda plays with how inconsistent death was in the Oz books. Sometimes people died, sometimes not, sometimes you had to literally obliterate someone for them to be considered dead. In the later Oz books, no one can die. One of the books assures us that while you are in the Land of Oz, you can not die. Unfortunately, this information comes after characters in the books have been chopped into pieces, beheaded, melted, and so forth and it is mentioned that you could be transformed into an inanimate object, turned into sand, and buried. Even so, you would still be alive and presumably conscious.

Baum puts it this way in the third chapter of The Emerald City of Oz: "No disease of any sort was ever known among the Ozites, and so no one ever died unless he met with an accident that prevented him from living." It's also mentionned that what keeps the people alive and not aging is a spell. So we are going to play with that in the story.

Really, I just want an excuse to draw skulls :D

Oh, man, I am so broke right now.

I went to the eye-doctor. Turns out, my glasses were not giving me a headache because my eyesight went down. No, it improved. The lens' were TOO STRONG. Thus causing constant headaches. So, since I needed to change the lenses anyways, I bought a new frame to replace the frame I hate. That poked a nice hole in my savings, lemme tell you that. I think i'm going to cut back on spending for a bit, you know, so I can pay for glasses/doctor bills/dentist/christmas stuff. Oh well. I never though not having insurances would be so expensive, but I guess it is! *laughs*

Slight unpleasant surprise this morning. I got to see exactly how much Quebec taxes are bigger then Ontario (I used to work in Ontario). I told you guys I got a work bonus. Well, when I checked my bank account this morning, I noticed about 600$ (aka more then 1/4 of the bonus) was gone.

I'm not against taxes, in fact, i'm quite happy to pay them. But I was expecting the government to take about 400$. So it was a bit of a shock to see that they took 200$ more then expected. I guess i'm still not used to Quebec taxes.

If I was to illustrate that with a metaphor, it would be the chocolate cake metaphor. You just bought cake, it's delicious. And your brother walks in and eats a huge junk off it just "to taste it". And then there's a big hole where your chocolate should be. It's a bit disapointing. Yet, at the same time, you know your brother is going to take a part of the cake. Heck, you're more then willing to share. You just wish his chunk was smaller.

I guess this makes me sound greedy. But considering this money was going to be used to buy new glasses (needed), pay for my dentist (needed) and buy a couch (needed now that Twinny took his couches back). So yeah... I would have liked keeping a bit more of it.

Oh well. Watcha gonna do when you live in a shoe?

(Move to a boot and get laced. AH!)

Today's drawing is a quick sketch of Edel, a "Princess tutu" character. She's a wooden doll who decides to help her friends by defying her creators and cutting her own strings. I always found her character very sad and interesting. Before you discoverer her "doll" nature, she's a jewel-selling, music-playing, mysterious guide. That makes her awesome. Plus she was carved out of a mystical, artist inspiring tree. That's always fun too.

I'm currently watching Firefly, and debating what my next tv series should be. Suggestions?

I also need to re-watch Slayers. I still haven't seen the new seasons!
