Back from two days of convention. Oh god, it was kinda horrible. I'm not going to go into details right now, but I worked harder at this con then any other con before. And I had some pretty difficult cons before this! Long hours, alone for five tables for a good while, no change, etc, etc. It was. Yurk. Not as well organized as it could have been. The con itself was pretty fun, I got a couple of comics signed. But oh god, my legs. My brain. My eardrums. It all hurts. Ark. But the artists were friendly, and the people too, so it balances out.

Tomorrow, I work again, but only at the bookstore and on website stuff, so it's going to be quiet. And then, in the evening, i,m going to go see the Lion King with a friend. I promise i'll answer your comments tomorrow. But for today my brain is just going FDGDFGRGTRHGBGN CAN'T COMPUTE.

Also, apparently, it only takes the command of three people (asatira, Lily and Juba) to make me draw something. I was asked for a color drawing of Wendy.

So, no, it’s not ethnic River Song, though the resemblance is there. This is Wendy, one of the main cast of my webcomic Namesake. Wendy is the Namesake linked to the world of Neverland. She is part of Calliope, the organization that takes care of Namesakes like her, in a kick-ass team with Alice and Jack. Wendy can fly, has two daggers and a gun and she is the proud wearer of the seven league boots. She’s basically a little army on her own. Despite how much evil jerk she can destroy, she remains the heart of the team and the team mom.

I love her.

In other news, check out this video kids. This man in a piano prodigy who composes emotional pieces on the fly at 16 with no formal training. He is some kind of genius. A Pollock of music. :D

I love him too.

And a vampire I drew to conclude things. I also love vampires. This is still for the kid's clothing thing.

Now, for a shower and bed. I feel like the con was a bit of a bath of B.O. I need to wash it off. It was pretty hot in the building so everyone suffered from it.

I'm really amused by lame expressions and puns. And fun cartoon sounds. Onomatopoeia are FUN.

I decided to encourage myself by building a list of things I need to get done in the next few months. Mainly : get new glasses, go to the dentist, go to the bank to open a savings account, get a wii, get my comic "Psychopompes" done, get my ears pierced again (they closed after I removed the earing due to an infection). I also starting trying to plan to do excercise at least every Sunday. Move a bit. Build up that body. I wanted to buy new ice skates. There's a rink close to our home and I honestly love skating. It's a great sport. I think it may run in the family a bit - one of my cousins used to be quite the speed skater. Won competitions and everything. I also want to start painting again, maybe do some exhibits once more. I just need to find a few good ideas for paintings, build a portfolio and start courting galleries again.

I want to have projects. And achieve them. Namesake is a project, and it's well under way (that reminds me - COUNTDOWN - 6 days to namesake!). I want to make life interesting. Be busy, have friends, spend time with friends online and offline. One of my ultimate goals is to be able to have a part time job and work on my comics the rest of the time. And if I work hard enough, I know i'll get there.

Really, I need motivation. And making lists seems to motivate me. There's something really attractive about making a list and crossing stuff off it. Satisfaction. :D

As a short term goal, I want to go eat M&Ms. Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] dqbunny , for putting that on my brain.

I ended up finishing a few other bag designs for my editor (this is one of them). I'm not really sure what this drawing means. When I look at it I think of Doctor Who for some reason. Super-magical-teleporting-coat man? With girl?

I have a thing for magical garments. Magic cloaks, seven league boots, magic dresses made from sunlight, Jordis eye-visor thingie... There's so many of these in fairy tales and the media. Maybe one day i'll draw a giant fanart with all of them.

Okay. I need to find a bit of free time to make "Secondlina" comics. I have so many ideas and I just don't have the time to draw them. Lots of funny things happened lately. and I want to draw fancomics too (Toy Story mostly. Ah, the possibilities). Maybe I should take a day every week to draw all the comics for the week or something? I kinda feel like I "owe" the journal some comics. *laughs*. But i've been pretty taken with my illustration work so most of the updates have been that. I'm still kinda sorry *laughs*.

The heat wave wasn't so bad yesterday (there was a lot of wind). But today? Today, it is nothing but wiggling backgrounds and sticky leather chairs waiting for me. Urgh.

I just bought the "Art of Toy Story 3". I was happy to learn that in February 2011, the "Art of beauty and the beast" will be available for purchase. I guess with all the "Artbook" fad starting Disney decided to do releases of the material used in it's older more popular films? Well, i'm not complaining. Come to mama, sweet, sweet sketches.

I'm really enjoying owning these artbooks. I,m not so much interested in the aniamtion process. I'm more into the designs and preliminary sketches. "The art of How to train your dragon" gave me a HUGE drawing technique boost (thanks again, [livejournal.com profile] lycorne !)

I'm also on some weird trip of trying to locate and purchase old comics I enjoyed from the library. A few are out of print and hard to find in Québec. I guess it's a modern equivalent of hunting? Sssh. I'm hunting wabbit comics.

Well, at least i'm not as slow at updating as SOME people (*wink wink nudge nudge Cyberknight*) XD
I'm finishing up my after-school "Must do everything i've been postponing since...ever " rally. Whew. I really had a lot of crap to go throught! I cleaned my room and found a bunch of my old cool clothes and trinckets so i'm really happy about that.
I'm still trying to get back in a work groove. It's been a while since I left the bakery and even though I remember everything and am still pretty fast at what I do, I make a lot of really stupid mistakes *sigh* I'm hoping those will go away soon.

Yesterday I had an extreme lucky day! I mean, luck coming out of my ears man! I had that day off so I accompagnied one of my friends on campus because she had an interview for a job in the teacher's librairy and she didn't know where it was. She got the job (YEEAH!) and then we went for bubble tea and invited another friend and her sister over to watch Howl's moving castle (Yeah, I know, again in my case, but hey, it's a good movie XD). It was really a fun day, I enjoyed it greatly.

Bubble tea is a strange substance though.

I also met at the video store where we rented Howl a fellow comic artist / fan named Benoit. He seemed interesting. Apparently we were in the same school year at the same school, but i've never seen that guy before. I'm thinking it's because I was in the school's enriched classes (aka where they put the "smarter" students, meaning the pompous ones who just happen to be assholes with better grades. I didn't really like it there, but my parents really insisted at the time). Most people my friends claim to know from high school i've never met because of that class separation. Also, one of my friend's brother was one of the school's popular guys so...I wasn't really in any "in" crowd...or any crowd whatsoever really.

Aside from that I just finished part 4 of the Zelgadiss gone haywire series. Enjoy!

p.s. I got your letter Ichiban. Thank you for being so generous ^^ Love the kitty paper ^^
