Teeth problems being slowly solved. Still got a few wisdom teeth to remove.

While my face wakes up, have a few cool things.

First off, sorry for being so quiet. Things have been crazy over here. Plus, Lj has been offline a lot. In any case, Namesake is a few comics short of hitting the 100th comic mark. Woo! we are getting more and more readers too. Seems a lot of people like Oz. Heck yeah.

To celebrate and to encourage donations, I'm working on a new wallpaper. The theme for this one is "Witches and Wizards of Oz". You got Ozma, Selva, Glinda, Renge (or Jellia), the Scarecrow, Chiseri, Anlise and Warrick surrounded by all the ladies of magic. You also get to see what Hercilia looks like a human. This is going to be pretty sweet, fully colored and inked, I can tell you that.

Aside from that, I recommend that all aspiring artists read Austin Kleon's "HOW TO STEAL LIKE AN ARTIST (AND 9 OTHER THINGS NOBODY TOLD ME)". It's hilarious and pretty much true as a whole. It's basic rules we all know, but it's cool to see them listed and drawn out.

I've been going crazy on etsy. I wanted to reward myself for all my hard work (I just love me... No but really, I earned it), so I decided to buy some jewelry. Of course, I went for the geekiest stuff there was. I bought Harry Potter themed bling. Oh yes. A metal bracelet that said "Expecto Patronum" and a golden snitch necklace. Aw yeah. i'm cool and I know it, kids.

In other news, why haven't I heard of Michael Pangrazio until now? This dude is a painter of WORLDS. He drew the "backdrop" for scenes in movies like the old Star Wars and Labyrinth. You know, before there was blue screen and computers, there was him, making a wall look like the blasted HORIZON. Kudos, sir Pangrazio. Kudos. Technology marches on, but you still work in character design and exude awesomeness.

That's all for now.

So, this weekend I visited my parents and friends in Ottawa. I was asked to go with a few friends to a "Wedding show". Since the friend who was actually the bride already had a dress, the goal was to find dresses for the others, bridemaid-ish things, I suppose. We ended up not finding much, but it was still fun to walk around talking. To amuse the group, I was asked to try on a dress (since apparently, it's a must-do to these types of events). It was awkward. To try one on, you kinda have to lie to say you're a bride, and you guys know how talented I am at lying. So I was stuck in a tiny dressing room with a clerk who asked a crapload of questions about the hypothetical big day. That.... was weird. The dress itself was very beautiful. A corset with a big, poofy....poof thing under it. I was amused. Unfortunately, the gown suited me really well, which made the salespeople very pushy and enthusiastic and made one of the girls int he group tear up, which resulted into panic mode on my part, of course. Because I don't work nicely with a) lying, b) Pushy people and c) Crying people. Now that I think back on it, I kinda wish I didn't try it on at all. That was uncomfortable. I didn't really enjoy it. But it made the group happy. So I guess that's good.

This whole wedding show kinda confirmed my idea that I don't like traditional weddings. Not even a little.

That event done, I went back to my parent's house to celebrate my brother's birthday. There was a restaurant with steak and cocktails and chocolate cake. Mmmmh. On the next day, my taxes got done (thanks, dad and thanks, calculating program) and then I got home.

And then I drew and slept for a while. Tired.

The next week i'm going to mostly draw. I have a bit of social activities planned, but most people are quite busy, so it looks like I have a lot of free time for drawing ahead. I kinda want to hit a library for research pretty soon. Here in Montréal, we have the huge library of Québec. References out the wazoo.

My wisdom teeth still hurt massively. I really need to get these out of my face pronto.

Christmas shopping is NOT the exception. I tried to start early and get it done ASAP. I still try to find cool gifts though ( I don't buy silly whatevers for the sake of having a gift).  And of course, I'll be drawing a ton of gifts too. :D For secret santas and just because I wuv you guys.

I'm somewhat dissatisfied with myself. For some reason, I set really high standards for myself and pretty much punish myself for not reaching them. I manage to feel like a giant friendless loser who accomplishes nothing while at the same time feeling like the world's busiest and well-loved budding artist. It's like my brain is composed of two people. Considering i'm a Gemini that's part artist and part administrative monkey, maybe there IS two people in my brain. And oh, the conversations they must have.

Christmas decorations make me happy. I don't really have room for a tree, but I totally want a bunch of christmas ornaments to hand around (especially glass ones).

I'm looking for new stuff to try eating. Suggestions? Mostly, I want tea flavors.

Man I love food.
