Lines!

So, I found a neat new pen brand to try out. It's basically a calligraphie pen, but instead of dipping it in an inkpot, it has a cartridge in it and comes in several sizes (my favorite being ultra-thin). In a way, using a cartridge pen is kinda lazy and expensive for no reason I guess, but I love how practical it is. I can carry these a lot easier then an ink pot. So far, the results are pretty good! So I might buy other sizes.

I drew Agha, the munchkin character from Namesake and Aang and Katara with it. Everything is adorable and classy. I'm kinda amused that Agha is so popular with the readers. I was kinda expecting people to find her annoying, but she's loved! Which makes me feel pretty good. I love "small" characters like her, munchkins, dwarves, hobbits... I'm sad they are often used as comic relief. I loved versions of dwarves that were as rocking and fantastic as elves. They deserve so much more love. I think I might actually draw a whole bunch of dwarves this week! :D

Did you guys heard about the Hobbit movie in preparation? There's BOUND to be some cool dwarves in that one. There's 12 of them!

I'm taking it easy this week. My health still seems a bit... iffy. My body feels overtired. But i'm still in good spirits. I'm going to try to make a bit of an update cushion for Namesake and work on my super-special-secret project. I can't wait to tell you guys about that one!

Oh, in June, I'm thinking of, for the second time ever, opening commissions. Try to see what I get out of it. Maybe nobody will want anything. First time I tried I got like... one. All money made with said commissions would be going to fuel the Namesake ads all over the internet. Anywho, we'll see. I,m not opening the commissions before then because the super-secret project is taking all over my time.

I have other super-secret awesome news... But i'm keeping it under wraps... until the next post!

...........I kinda screwed up Aang a bit. It's because of the new pen, I tell you!

Oh, it's rare but... MEME TIME! I actually like this one :

Meme taken from EVERYWHERE.

Name a character from one of my fandoms, and I will reply saying:
* How I FEEEEEL about this character
* All the people I ship romantically with this character
* My non-romantic OTP for this character
* My unpopular opinion about this character
* One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon

I finally participated to this online meme I really like (can be found here) where you basically choose a little "cat" sketch, and make a character out of it. Here are mine.

They are like...sisters. From a evil possessed-hair family. The big sister hates looking after the little one. The hair doesn't mind.

In other news, i'm going to be gone tomorrow night and all of the weekend. I didn't end up celebrating Christmas last weekend because Link mixed up his dates. It wasn't last weekend. It was this weekend. Link needs to be a bit more organized. Still, I get early Christmas. I'm going to visit Link's family in a village around Montréal. I'm bringing Namesake pages to ink.

In other news, Namesake now can host project wonderful ads. Woo! I don't think we'll get much income that way (it's not really my goal to make money). But it's a nice space for friends and artists to expose themselves!

Meant to do this a while back. Gosh, the results scrare me! I've seen almost all the list.
 x = seen it
o = partially seen it
bold = loved

Click here for the ultimate animation meme (Yes, i'm finally catching up on my memes) )

Personal addition:
Happily ever after? Anybody remembers the snow white version with all the female dwarves? I LOVED IT.

So yeah... is it sad that i've seen the majority of this list? This gives me a good list to follow for my future purchases though!

For some reason, I love peanut butter and chocolate cakes. I don't really like stuff like reeses but I like that mix of tastes in cakes. Hummmm.

Last night was a strange shift. I was working night shift on my own, when usually there is two people on weekends. Lot's of weird stuff happened and we fell behind schedule. I even had to turn off two trash cans that had been lit on fire. There was a big storm outside so a lot of people came in dragging an ocean with them. Another customer even slipped. It was pretty busy but I think I managed fine.

I was rather tired today though. I slept all day. From 8 to 6. sleep.

I've been actually having a lot of trouble sleeping lately. I'm restless, I have weird dreams and nightmares. I need to find tricks and tips to help me sleep. I also need to change my sleep pattern since i'm starting my internship next week and most of my shifts are early in the morning.

I'm really excited about the internship starting. I have a meeting on monday. And a drving exam on tuesday. Wish me luck!

I finally drew my meme, after being tagged by gigabahamut and earthstar XD
***♠ List seven habits/quirks/facts about yourself.
***♠ Tag seven people to do the same.
***♠ Do not tag the person who tagged you or say that you tag whoever wants to do
I don't think i'll tag people though, since most people have already done it XD And i'm not a huge fan of chain mailthings.

I'm also finally getting my but in gear doujinshi wise. After a discussion with DQbunny, we though of a few good ideas. Hopefully, i'll manage to get some projects organized soon. It dawned on me how old slayers fandom was. Heck, I went to see a few websites about slayers for info and a lot of them still had floppy disk related humor.

I'll try to find a few newer fandoms to illustrate as well....maybe harry potter ^_^

I drew an amelia/Zel drawing I adore... Hehehe. Fluffy.

Meme stolen from the[profile] quirkyslayer :
Each player of this game starts off with 10 weird things/habits/little known facts about yourself. People who get tagged need to write a blog of their own 10 weird habits/things/little known facts as well as state this rule clearly. At the end you need to choose 10 people to be tagged and list their names. No tagbacks.

No tagbacks. I just felt like drawing it XD

Aside from that, today was rich in exictement (sorta). I spent a bit of time with a friend, Nathalie, and I slept yesterday at my friend Fauve's house. She has a really big cat called Loki who expresses his love for you by killing your socks, stealing your oh-so delicious last pieces of brownie and waking you up an hour before time with intensive purring, licking and rubbing goodness. Feel the luv.
I'm slightly behind on homework. I have a million emails to send out, a few texts to read, some art to create and some money to cash in. So tomorrow is pretty much planned out for me. My friend Tama called me today to ask me to do a shift on saturday, but I had to decline since I'm going to be gone at the gallery mostly of friday and saturday. Yeah! Isa's art on the wall time! I got two free tickets to get in. I think i'll take Fauve as my date or something. Unless Link decides to do 6 hours of rolling just to see me act embarassed in a crowd. *laughs* I don't really like passing out on work shifts, but I really can't this weekend ^^;;; I hope it won't cause a problem.

Man I need to frame stuff tomorrow. I hate framing. I think framing is way up there on the hate list with inking and using rulers.

In other news, Buffy the Vampire Slayer is an awesome show. Now, now, I can feel everybody's eyes rolling in the crowd, but trust me, it rocks. My friend Tama used to hate it and now she's almost a bigger fan then I. I love how this show is almost like a little movie per week. I just watched an episode where Joyce, a character, dies. They did the whole episode without any background music. It's a beautiful episode. The emotion is very present. Joss wedon, the creator, as my outmost respect. Honestly, if you don't know buffy, watch it. It's so worth it, especially around season 5 (total of 7). If you are a geek, you WILL like it ^^ I'm all about slayers I think, either vampire or japanese kind.

Does anybody know of Cibo Matto? It's some japanese band. I like 'em!

As for ten couples I dislike:
1) Hermione / anyone but Ron (ESPECIALLY Snape or Lupin. Gah. Why?)
2)Hitomi / Allen (from escaflowne...hate it beyond words. Poor Van.)
3)Xelloss / Sylphiel (People followed the hair = couple pattern)
4)Sesshoumaru / kid Rin (hum. Especially those who write lemon fics. Scarring I say.)
5)Edward / Alphonse (Oh great. incestous stuff now. I don't mind it so much when it's platonic love, but when the doujin artist or fanfic writter shoves sex in there...it's just odd.)
6) Edward / Roy mustang (Okay...if anything the whole miniskirt deal proves that he is not gay. And hate does not equal OMG OTP YES WEE!)
7) Anybody / invented mary sue that is mysteriously similar to the writter or artist (...)
8)Angel / Buffy (Yes it used to be canon. Now it's not. Get over it people. Let it go.)
9) Ryoga / Akane (Never saw it happen. Found it disturbing)
10) Nana / Takumi (From Nana....The guy is the worse asswipe ever. She could leave him and NOBODY would blame her. He cheats, lies and god knows what else. And she just keeps strolling along because she doesn't want to be alone, is dependant and feels guilty. Argh. This is more frustrating to read when you are aware that couples like that exist in reality.)

Aside from that, things are going okay. A lot of my teachers told me that I lacked focus and direction. My photo teacher said (while looking at my more recent work) that I was gone in a completly different direction, that I did not really understand. He said I din't get the perpice of my own work and that I needed to go dig up what originally motivated me. Mwer.

Most of my teachers agree that my work lacks direction. My life in general does. I'm so disorganised it' scary. And usually, I never was. Last year alone I was more organised then a governement contract drawer. Something this year made my loose the balance I used to have. It's true that this year, I have a lot of stuff I don't have around anymore and new stuff in my life. I guess I never took the time to get used to it. Now I need to back up and regroup.

In other news, xmas is coming and Isa must start her shopping, since i'm probably gonna run to Toronto when school will be out. I have a few devious ideas on what to get people. ^^

Oh! I learned that the STO (Bus society of Outaouais, aka quebec area where I live) is changing the bus structure in our little town.
See, the thing with me is that I don't really live in Ottawa. I say I do because then I don't have to explain to people in which area I do live. But I actually live in the Quebec province, right next to another city called Hull, that is next to a bridge that leads to Ottawa. I'm about 20 to 30 minutes from the center of ottawa if I drive a car...with no traffic jams of course. In a bus, it takes about 45 minutes to get to the center though, and then If I need to go elsewhere or whatnot, add walking time or extra bus time on another motorised vehicule.

We usually have two buses that start in Aylmer (my home) and go directly to Ottawa going thru Hull. We also have a bus that goes to another city, and another bus that goes to another spot in Hull. On rush hour, we have two other buses headed for Ottawa. That's it. There's a bus every 45 minutes.

They are planning to get rid of all the buses that go to Ottawa and Hull and have several buses circulate in Aylmer. Then those buses will go to Rivermead, a center point between Aylmer and Hull and everybody needs to get off and go on new buses that will either take them to Ottawa or Hull. However, the numbers are supposed to alter, so sometimes, the said bus will not go at the same spot, and you need to ask the driver. Another thing: sometimes the number on the bus will change and go directly to Ottawa after it reaches rivermead. But you have to ask the driver about that too.

God, what the hell?

Their "new and improved" system looks damn complicated to me. Their excuse is that it already works like that in Hull and Gatineau (other city close by)...But Aylmer does not need internal circulation. We have no industries or large businesses. We are a sleeping town. Most people living in aylmer work in Ottawa. We need to get OUT not hover inside. And aylmer is much smaller then Hull.

This system is going to make things suck.

Someone asked me who my favorite couples were. I'm not a huge fan of couples, I prefer liking characters on their own or duos that are funny and work great together without necessarly being in love.
Some of these are pretty canon, others are fanon, and some are just plain weird. Oddly enough, this does not even cover half of what i've read (I forgot Garulfo, Naruto and so many others aaaaah!) But it's still pretty representative of the couples I do like.

I,m a huge fan of the kenshin series, yet no couple in there really strikes my fancy. I like Kenshin and Kaoru enought I guess, but not really on a level that makes me go "ZOMG OTP!" I like how the story goes and the characters interact in general.

On another weird level, i'm a huge fan of female ranma and I think it sucks that she is not a "real" character. The only couple I love in Ranma (despite how incredibly fandom oriented that series is) is Mousse and Champoo. Mousse is the only character I think is really likeable. He's the only one with morals! Everybody else is twisted in some way. I was reading some of my old ranma books last week and I realised this series as the most flawed characters i've ever seen! (and what flaws!)

I also think Nuriko from Fushigi Yuugi should have STAYED a girl because a girl with superhuman strenght would have been cooler then ANOTHER crossdresser. Not to mention using her in another coupling would have taking a bit of the story off Miaka and Tamaome and saved the plot a bit. And yes, i'm aware there is such a thing as gay relantionships, but Yuu Watase can't write those out worth a damn.

Other then that, did anybody ever see the OAV's of master of mosquiton? It's awesome anime. The tv series kinda sucks, but the OAV's are great. I wonder why this series is so little known...
