First off, Happy St-Patrick's day to all! It's a good day to dance to jaunty music. Or drink booze. Whichever Irish stereotype you prefer, really.

Good god. I need so much sleep. But Jabberwocky is almost over. I plan on finishing the pages and illustrations on Sunday. Then all that will be left to do during the upcoming week will be touch-ups, wording and the cover. Oh my god. I actually did this. I will actually have managed to compete a full comic in a month. Jeez louise. I honestly never ever want such a crazy deadline ever again.

Link is going to be shading my namesake pages for the next two weeks. He's so sweet. Check out today's page if you want to see his handywork.

I'm currently pondering some ideas. At home, I have several fabric bracelets kinda like these :

Mine have monsters and robots and dinosaurs on them (you know why). Well, just yesterday, I found this website where you can print your own fabric and then buy it by the yard. So I though "These fabric bracelets of mine are really cool. And they sold really well at the con where I bought them. IDEA!". I'm thinking of printing some fabric with pretty drawings and making some of these bracelets. I already found instructions on how to make them. I wish I knew where I could buy the buttons to close them... But this plan could be awesome.

Anyways... Have some more Jabberwocky...

Aw, crap. I just realised "Adjacent" is spelled badly. If you guys see any more of these, please let me know.

Tasty, tasty foot! I'm sorry for busting your bubble Lydia! But I got you cake, and will probably get you cake for the next 9 months, so we are even. *laughs*

Nothing teaches you how much kids can be devious tricksters like working in daycare. But them being that way doesn't mean they are nasty kids. Kids like to test the limits of what they can do. And being slightly devious is the way to do it. So it's nothing personal. It's trial and error and life and all. Plus, it's really, REALLY fun, but when they start trying to trick you, you get to mess with THEM. And otusmarting a large group of 8-year olds is harder then it sounds.

Kids have their own personal logic.

Got a new coworker today - a girl who makes jewelry. Kinda makes me think that I still want to learn to make jewelry. Mostly, i'd like to try Resin jewels. Because, it's basically a metal back, a drawing and a "plastic/glass-like" top. That way I could make necklaces with my tiny vampires! And other stuff. New girl tells me the Montreal Jewelry School offers one-day classes in various thing.  I should do that. It would be a welcome change of pace from drawing. Plus, useful skills! For resin jewelry, there's a thousand tutorials online. So i'm good for that.

Also, I think I actually like the Tinkerbell movies now. *facepalms* I'm such a Disney Dupe. Ensnare me with your pretty, pretty animated charms will you, Disney? I guess i,ll have some movies to add to my collection. Boy kids are really loving my apartment. Toys and movies and fairy tale books galore.

I wish I had a muffin right now. Chocolate and cinnamon. And cherry. Have you guys ever tasted a mix of those three things? It sounds delicious.

This weekend was good! I went to Montréal with the art group for our Exhibit during Montréal 6pm to 6 am event, Nuit Blanche (french for all-nighter). The exhibit was awesome. I stayed after with Link to celebrate his birthday. Came for the art, stayed for the snuggles. But talk is cheap, here are the pictures!

Before the all nighter, we started off in bed, with our beloved collective project, the quilt! It's a pretty functional quilt, it's got a backing and filling and everything. Very comfty. There's everyone under it. We were missing two artists. One could not be among us for personal reasons. The other was coming in a bit later the next day during the actual event.

So, hi everybody...

I really wanted to draw a comic for today, but i'm really dead. Dead Dead Deaders. This bus strike thing in Ottawa is really stretching out my work hours, plus the walks in winter and the general woe that comes with the time of the month... Isa is dead tired.

So instead, I took pictures of the project i'm working on right now. Friends of mine and myself are working on a big quilt. It's a very non-traditional quilt though, and it's super artistic. Everyone in the group is making a few squares for the quilt. Here are mine.

Mine combine sewing, toys and drawing. The theme of the quilt was "Security Blanket". I chose to think of children security blankets (or blankie, if you are intimate) and on how they kinda protect you from harm in your imagination and can become a magic carpet, a tent, a friend... This also taps a little bit in the ideas of children abuse because honestly the statistics for child violence and abuse still frighten me. Once finished the quilt will be expose in Montréal for the art Nuit Blanche event.

Here is my favorite piece. Click on the link for the other pieces.
The animals in them are a wolf, shadows, fish, a bat and (teddy) bears
