Fallen, rising and shining stars...

I went to finally see stardust, the movie based on the novel by Neil Gaiman & Charles Vess, with my friends Fauve and
Before going to the movie, me and Fauve got some eel on rice that was delicious with miso soup. We then met up with other Isa to go get a pile of candy at sugar mountain. My bag of candy was the most expensive one. Darn jellybeans are the heaviest candies ever! But no matter, money well spent, despite the fact that i'm nearly broke... *laughs* hummmmmm sugar.
Stardust itself was beautiful. I recommend it to everyone, especially to Meg and Diane, because Diane loves the princess bride, and this movie is similar to it. Meg, you need to go because this movie is the type to put a smile on your face, and I know you need one of those right now. Beautiful fantasy, I love claire danes as Yvaine. She's got moxy. I love the scenes where her hair suddently shines. She's so pretty!
The movie adaptation was very good. They made the movie rather similar to princess bride in my opinion. It's impossible fantasy that seems very normal, death is treated almost with humor, and true love, of course. Totally princess bride atmosphere.
The movie was slightly more chick-flicky then the book. A few things got "movified" such as the ending, much more action packed and spectacular. But it's the medium that wants it, right? It was still pretty darn good.
I got a few pictures from my aunt of my little cousin's baptism... The reason I went to quebec city last week. The photos all look great. My mother wants to get a few of them printed. ^^

There was four baptism at the same time, so the church had a good deal of people in it. Yet, it was still 2/3 empty. Go figure.

Two of my cousins had a baby. My Cousin Lydie-Ann had a baby boy and my cousin Jonathan (Lydie's brother) had a little girl. It was the boy's baptism.

The little girl, snoozing.

Aaaaaaand, awake!

My favorite aunt, Charlotte, Holding the baby boy.

My cousin and his daughter (and pregnant lady in the back. Weird.)

A pretty cool picture of me, Link, my little brother (the other orange-haired fellow) and my little cousin Metira.
I was talking to Fauve the other day and we though there was a little of babies born this yeah. "It's almost an epidemic!" Fauve told me. Apparenlty all the woman minus her and her boss are pregnant at work. Maybe there's another mini-boom coming on?

My daughter also loved Stardust, which I haven't had a chance to see yet, darn it! The Princess Bride is one of those movies she, my husband, and I quote at each other quite a bit, I think more than any other movie. It's definitely a family bonding thing with us.
Yup, raising kids is a job. The way people look at a man who stays home to raise the kids is even worse. One of my brothers is a "house-husband" while my sister-in-law works. He stopped working outside the home when his eldest was born, about 11 years after marriage. This was agreed upon very readily by my sister-in-law, although she is a very loving mother. For years my father had a very hard time accepting that my brother was supported by his wife, not the other way around. Maybe men staying home to raise the kids is more accepted now, but bro was a rare bird when the boys were toddlers. He's raised two sons, the eldest of which just started college this year and the other is 16. Both my nephews are very intelligent, industrious, and nice young men. And my brother and his wife have been married 30 years.
