After-con report

Anime North is over and done with, it was pretty cool! Me, Link, my friend Fauve and her fiancé went together on saturday. We had to wait two hours in line to get in. Next time I go for a con, i'll definitly buy my tickets before hand! However, the time we waited in line went by really fast because every two minutes we went nuts and said "Oh my god it's *insert name here* from *insert name here* and it's a wicked costume! Take a picture!" So while we were in line, I took like a hundred pictures or so.
I got a t-shirt, a Vivi Plushie, a Packman ghost plushie, a few mangas...I wanted to buy several doujins, cds and stuff. I tried finding some Ichigo x Rukia doujins (Bleach) however all the doujins stations had sold them earlier in the morning. Apparently, non-yaoi couples from Bleach don't sell that well, so they only brough a few of Ichiruki8 and apparently all three booths had sold the ichiruki stuff to the same person dressed as LInk (Legend of Zelda). I wish I could have found that LInk and asked him if I could have at least one, but LInk was a very popular costume that year!
The really popular costumes were Bleach, Zelda, Naruto (ninja's by the ton!), Sailor moon (the whole friggin' cast!!! including villains!) and Anything related to Cloud (aka Final Fantasy 7, Advent children and Kingdom Hearts).
Here are some photos! I think they look great!

The line of 3v1l. That's only one side too. The line did all the front wall too!

Sailor Moon has always been present at least once at any con, but this year she was very popular! I'm guessing we have the live action series to thank for this comeback....

"Cousins."

Anybody remembers the evil sister Quatro? THey are one of Fauve's favorite characters. She was very happy to see them!

Fauve was also happy to see Totoro, whom she hugged on the spot. Heck, that costume is a chick magnet. THe guy was hugged by almost the whole line!

Even those with no specific costume did great effort to dress up. It was very colorful.

A few people were dressed as video game oldies (like Zelda, mario, older Rpg's, etc.) Here; pokemon! No wonder Ash likes pikachu so much! Rrrrrowww.

Smooth flying, Fox!

"X marks the spot" in Chrono Trigger dosen't it XD

Asian girls can be so cute! This picture reminds me of the "Fresh Fruit" Japanese fashion book. There was a lot of Asians this year at the con...Probably because Toronto is the city with the largest asian population in the world.

Cloud and Aeris, on a date, at the Tim Hortons behind the Toronto Center where the con was at. Man, there was a few fast food joints behind the con. People just raided them. I feel bad for the people working the fast food joint that day. Talk about stress full.

There was one heck of a shinigami crowd.

Death gods on break.

Ah, Captain, you always have had a thing for pretty soldiers, haven't you?

More Chrono, Crusade this time!

Hack/sign, adding a bit of corruption to the mix.

Hehehe.

Shaolan and Sakura, happily re-creating the introduction of Tsubassa.

Obligatory bath house scene.

Sora: the wanted man.

The count of Monte Cristo welcomes you in his home.

Squeeeeee! Sally!

Squeeeee! JACK!

No-Face. Hopefully on a straight no-people diet.

Professor Desty Nova, who was very happy I recognized him! Battle Angel Alita ( Or gummn in it's original Japanese and french name) is not a very popular series despite how good it is.

Get out of my forest!

Link and Zelda, just for Diane!

To my greatest surprise! LINA! Slayers is an old series that doesn't always interest the newer fans (who read more things like Death note or Bleach) so I wasn't expecting to see Lina at all. She was here with Valgarv, Whom I didn't manage to photograph.
That's all for photos. The con made me realise that it was high time I started on my doujins/fanarts. Next time, when con season hits Ottawa, I should rent a table. Heck, a lot of the artists selling their stuff are very good, but others are relativly ordinary. I believe my stuff could sell well if I wanted it to. I just need to find a few good ideas, possibly not all slayers related. I'd love to do a Zelda Doujin and a Bleach Doujin...

Date: 2007-05-28 08:18 pm (UTC)..okay, calming down now. You really should make up some doujinshi or something to sell next year. The one year I attended Sakura Con (2000), someone had made small laminated badges you could attach to your con badge. I got the angel 'good' badge while a friend got the devil 'evil' badge. I still have it, it's so cute! (That, and a little Link someone drew and laminated when I went to Neko Con in..2003? I love laminated art!)
