Because it makes me happy!
I like all ships, so sue me.
This is repetitive of the last twenty posts, BUT... I really need to get my head in the game. Lately, I seem frustrated and impatient, and people like

Well, enough of whining. I do too much of that too.
Well, tomorrow, there's Namesake sketching. That always puts me in a right mood.
Also, yay confortable work shoes! I bought some great shoes for the whole standing-all-day deal my new job is all about. So long, back pains. You will not be missed.
Watched The Gobelet of Fire with the boyfriend. Mc Gornagall is my favorite professor. EVER. Way to be amazing, Minerva.
Also, did you guys know that there's this French comic for pre-teens that is basically a steampunk version of "the little princess"? I'm not kidding. Sarah Crewe's dad is the head of a robot/android making company with a factory in India. The story is pretty much the same as the original novel (that I loved as a kid) except with cool background events. It's a really interesting adaptation and it's quite popular i'm told. I'm thinking of taking photos of the books I read for work (yep, i'm required to read what we sell to help customers. How cool is that?) to kinda share this experience. In this one, the story is pretty good (the novel is excellent after all, for pre-teens). The steampunk setting kinda helps a couple of the more... dated elements to seem a bit fresher and less offensive. The art is really, really influenced by manga and kinda weird-looking, but it gets better as the books come out, so at least it's evolving nicely. Check it :

Date: 2011-07-15 07:44 am (UTC)It might not hurt to talk to a professional counselor, just be wary if all they do is toss drugs at you. On the other hand, you're more than welcome to chew my ears off if you need to. I like listening to people, and I know what a difference it can make when someone just lets me talk my frustrations out.
(But bwa, those eyes! They're so HUGE. I like the art for everything else though..)
If I'm good and disciplined on the morrow, I'll have an update on you-know-who.

Heck, go write something, draw something, something that lets you express your frustrations. Something for your eyes only. Afterward you can do what you will with it, but I bet it'll help you to release the anger and depression faster.

The French comic art is nice. I'm not much for Manga style, but the colors and details are well done. I do like steampunk as well :) Wish I could understand French!

Date: 2011-07-15 04:53 pm (UTC)Back in high school, reading and writing French was a LOT easier for me than speaking it. Partly because synonyms don't trip me up as much when I'm reading something. And partly because I'd always get self-conscious about how bad my pronunciation sounded when I had to give oral presentations to my teacher (who was a French native). >_<

Date: 2011-07-15 02:25 pm (UTC)Gahhhh what gorgeous sketches....the detail on that Persian rug in the Kataang picture is just, just. Ugh. I would love to be curled up in a little Arabian-style nook with fancy pillows and rugs like that xD
I gotta say, the super-manga style of that comic does weird me out a little, but it's TOTALLY worth it for the coloring and detail. *_* Man, I used to love all those movies from the early-mid 90's based on old literature.....A Little Princess and The Secret Garden and Black Beauty were all awesome films!

The Arabian style nook is something I wanted since childhood. and one day, i'll have it. Oh yes.
Black Beauty = So awesome.

I remember finding Aurore through Alwett's joint Sweety Sorcellery project. Such kick ass ladies. D:
As for your anger, to be honest I think you're probably feeling very burnt out from your last job and perhaps quite bitter. When I was in college, I left a very hostile work environment and ended up pretty angry at myself after. Once I was out of the joint and had a couple weeks to breathe, I was kicking myself for not fighting back and properly standing up for myself (which is ridiculous since it was, y'know, a job I needed and couldn't risk loosing at the time). I felt cowardly, and was still constantly on the defense even though I was now long gone-- the results of a year spent taking abuse was, quite literally, haunting me and like a bad break up I felt it challenging to move on. Which is utterly human and normal, to be frank. When situated with such we learn to adapt, that's our nature, right? But learning how to let go... that's something completely foreign to us. So, it took me awhile but I did begin to do so but not without the help of my bf to keep me in check whenever I "relapsed".
If you do not wish to wait, or feel it's not something you can do alone, definitely try therapy. There's nothing to loose in trying and it might help you get through it quicker and more efficiently. After all, I do not know how consistently extreme your experience was or what, in every detail, it felt like for you (though I can imagine it was positively deplorable and you were able to force yourself through such by numbing up as best as you could, like many would, each day) annnnd I'm not a professional. :( So, definitely take care and continue being honest and observant with yourself. The fact that you can recognize this as a problem is very good and will help you get, well, that help you may need.
Good luck hun!! :(

Date: 2011-07-15 05:38 pm (UTC)And that sounds like a very fair plan. It certainly takes time to heal all wounds, no matter how strong one is. Good luck!!

Also, aw, duel ship love. I still say that Aang loves Zuko and Katara the most, and only loves Katara juuuust a bit more because she never sent an assassin after him, and only for that.

Date: 2011-07-15 04:02 pm (UTC)Hahahah, those guys as an Ot3 would be hilarious. I can see the assassin argument coming back once in a while. "Well, see, it's all about perspective. If I sent an assassin after Azula, she would have enjoyed it like a greeting card."

Date: 2011-07-15 10:05 pm (UTC)Sorry you're feeling the anger lately. I hope that whatever it is that's causing you to feel this way will work itself out, or you're able to find a good healthy way to deal with it.
Talking to someone might not be a bad idea. I mean, if you need to get it off of your chest somehow, it's better than keeping it inside and letting it fester. You get sick enough as it is, you don't need the emotional sickness too...
Just keep hanging in there, kiddo. I'm all around the internet if you need to talk or vent or just have a laugh or two.
