Because it makes me happy!

I like all ships, so sue me.

This is repetitive of the last twenty posts, BUT... I really need to get my head in the game. Lately, I seem frustrated and impatient, and people like [livejournal.com profile] dqbunny waste way too much of their time calming me down. I made a list of my ongoing projects. It makes me feel busy, but reassured since I can see the evolution. I really need to figure out why i'm so angry all the time lately so I can stop. I have issues and I'm always pissed off when I see people. That's no fun. I know there's a fun loving Isa somewhere in here. I just need to put her in the forefront and leave depressed Isa in the back. It's only been 2 weeks since I left the weird job, so i'm probably still EEEEEH because of that. But I really hate this. I hate being so angry all the time. :( A couple of people told me I should go see a professional to deal with my frustration and depressions, and maybe I should.

Well, enough of whining. I do too much of that too.

Well, tomorrow, there's Namesake sketching. That always puts me in a right mood.

Also, yay confortable work shoes! I bought some great shoes for the whole standing-all-day deal my new job is all about. So long, back pains. You will not be missed.

Watched The Gobelet of Fire with the boyfriend. Mc Gornagall is my favorite professor. EVER. Way to be amazing, Minerva.

Also, did you guys know that there's this French comic for pre-teens that is basically a steampunk version of "the little princess"? I'm not kidding. Sarah Crewe's dad is the head of a robot/android making company with a factory in India. The story is pretty much the same as the original novel (that I loved as a kid) except with cool background events. It's a really interesting adaptation and it's quite popular i'm told. I'm thinking of taking photos of the books I read for work (yep, i'm required to read what we sell to help customers. How cool is that?) to kinda share this experience. In this one, the story is pretty good (the novel is excellent after all, for pre-teens). The steampunk setting kinda helps a couple of the more... dated elements to seem a bit fresher and less offensive. The art is really, really influenced by manga and kinda weird-looking, but it gets better as the books come out, so at least it's evolving nicely. Check it :

I would think the anger is very normal, having gone through it myself this past year. Yeah, I cut myself off from a lot of people, but it was to keep from venting anger where it need not be vented, and once I got it out...it was out. Done. Gone. I'm actually glad I let it run its course, since it's really helped me to channel my attention to things I want to be doing now, like developing stories and making plushies.

It might not hurt to talk to a professional counselor, just be wary if all they do is toss drugs at you. On the other hand, you're more than welcome to chew my ears off if you need to. I like listening to people, and I know what a difference it can make when someone just lets me talk my frustrations out.

(But bwa, those eyes! They're so HUGE. I like the art for everything else though..)

If I'm good and disciplined on the morrow, I'll have an update on you-know-who.

I'm thinking of trying to cut back on the friend cutting next week. Isa needs to see people. It's summer! Summer should be about having fun.

Yeah, note I just said, "A lot of people," as I still saw most all of my local friends. It's actually good to continue doing normal things, as it helps keep a sense of...normalcy. Plus, it's nice to be able to express and experience other emotions aside from the anger/depression. (And, most of my outlet was gaming with local friends, so I got to "be" other people for a while, which also helped. Even if I was angry and feeling trapped, for a few hours I'd get to be a character who might be experiencing the same emotions, but with a more direct way to escape them.)

Do what you need to do, just don't be afraid to experience your more negative emotions. The sooner they're dealt with, the sooner they'll leave.

Heck, go write something, draw something, something that lets you express your frustrations. Something for your eyes only. Afterward you can do what you will with it, but I bet it'll help you to release the anger and depression faster.

OK one: I love steampunk, and that looks awesome.
Second: Do you have skype? Because I just let myself get talked into getting it and I'd still love to talk to you. I miss it. If you're ever up for talking and don't want to use AIM, just look me up under TheFlowerGirl13.

I always love seeing how wonderfully detailed all of your pieces are! So gorgeous! :)

And woot to getting to 'be required' to read stuff from your store! That's the kind of work assignment I want! XD

The French comic art is nice. I'm not much for Manga style, but the colors and details are well done. I do like steampunk as well :) Wish I could understand French!

I know right? But people do ask very very detailed questions on the books. If you don't read anything, you can't work there.

The ATLA multi-shipper in me applauds these pictures SO MUCH. I love both of those 'ships myself!

The French comic is not only beautiful, it heartens me to see that I can understand 95% of the French! Reading's the first, easiest way of comprehending a foreign language.

Back in high school, reading and writing French was a LOT easier for me than speaking it. Partly because synonyms don't trip me up as much when I'm reading something. And partly because I'd always get self-conscious about how bad my pronunciation sounded when I had to give oral presentations to my teacher (who was a French native). >_<

Ha. Hahaha... I can understand written french just fine, for the most part... But when your brother starts speaking it to me... He almost always has to at least repeat it once. :\

Talking is second easiest for me. Reading is generally easier for learners because you just have to get the gist of what you see; you don't have to worry so much about grammar precision and context is helpful. Some people have quick comprehension of the spoken language but that's hardest for me because I have to put together the sounds that come out of their mouth with the words I expect to hear and there's a weird gap there for me.

Talking to a professional might help, but do whatever feels best suited to you, yourself. And if you ever need to rant, we at LJ are good at listening! :)

Gahhhh what gorgeous sketches....the detail on that Persian rug in the Kataang picture is just, just. Ugh. I would love to be curled up in a little Arabian-style nook with fancy pillows and rugs like that xD

I gotta say, the super-manga style of that comic does weird me out a little, but it's TOTALLY worth it for the coloring and detail. *_* Man, I used to love all those movies from the early-mid 90's based on old literature.....A Little Princess and The Secret Garden and Black Beauty were all awesome films!

I'm honestly a little tired of ranting. I think I officially started annoying myself lol.

The Arabian style nook is something I wanted since childhood. and one day, i'll have it. Oh yes.

Black Beauty = So awesome.

Ahhh!! That's from Alwett and co.!! I've always wanted to read this, I've been following the blackberry-strawberry blog for years. D:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6g3is0TTpQk so pretty...
I remember finding Aurore through Alwett's joint Sweety Sorcellery project. Such kick ass ladies. D:

As for your anger, to be honest I think you're probably feeling very burnt out from your last job and perhaps quite bitter. When I was in college, I left a very hostile work environment and ended up pretty angry at myself after. Once I was out of the joint and had a couple weeks to breathe, I was kicking myself for not fighting back and properly standing up for myself (which is ridiculous since it was, y'know, a job I needed and couldn't risk loosing at the time). I felt cowardly, and was still constantly on the defense even though I was now long gone-- the results of a year spent taking abuse was, quite literally, haunting me and like a bad break up I felt it challenging to move on. Which is utterly human and normal, to be frank. When situated with such we learn to adapt, that's our nature, right? But learning how to let go... that's something completely foreign to us. So, it took me awhile but I did begin to do so but not without the help of my bf to keep me in check whenever I "relapsed".

If you do not wish to wait, or feel it's not something you can do alone, definitely try therapy. There's nothing to loose in trying and it might help you get through it quicker and more efficiently. After all, I do not know how consistently extreme your experience was or what, in every detail, it felt like for you (though I can imagine it was positively deplorable and you were able to force yourself through such by numbing up as best as you could, like many would, each day) annnnd I'm not a professional. :( So, definitely take care and continue being honest and observant with yourself. The fact that you can recognize this as a problem is very good and will help you get, well, that help you may need.

Good luck hun!! :(

I'm really enjoying the Blackberry-Strawberry collection (and Soleil's new "1800" collection). There's a lot of new artists filling those pages. I can't wait to see where it goes. Aurore is working with Algrésias on this "elianor jones" comic about a seamstress that is quite popular and pretty as well. I think I like the Princess Sarah one better, but that might be due to nostalgia.

I don't know if I need help yet. It's only been a week and a half, you know? I think i'll wait a bit, see how gashy the wounds are and have someone take a look at them if they are rather ugly :D

YESSS. I've seen that one!! So magnificent... Ugh, I've been meaning to begin studying french again and Aurore's and Nephyla's series are first in line to read once I get a decent enough grasp! And-and Kerascoët's and... urgh. :| so many, haha!

And that sounds like a very fair plan. It certainly takes time to heal all wounds, no matter how strong one is. Good luck!!

Oh hey, that's really neat. I should pick that up, try and read it in French, see if I can do it.

Also, you're allowed to get cranky about work - you have a lot to do! in addition to working a job, you have dozens of art projects, both paid and unpaid! You are allowed to grump, hon =3

Also, aw, duel ship love. I still say that Aang loves Zuko and Katara the most, and only loves Katara juuuust a bit more because she never sent an assassin after him, and only for that.

There's a couple of bookstores in Toronto that carry and order French comics such as the Labyrinth. I really recommend the Labyrinth because they are super friendly and they ship books, so you can order things and have them shipped to your house for fairly cheap. http://animationroadshow.blogspot.com/

Hahahah, those guys as an Ot3 would be hilarious. I can see the assassin argument coming back once in a while. "Well, see, it's all about perspective. If I sent an assassin after Azula, she would have enjoyed it like a greeting card."

My Avatar ship of choice is that Katara embraces polygamy and convinces both Aang AND Zuko to marry her. And thus the long Kataang/Zutara ship war will finally come to an end!!

Yay for A:TLA art! I like both the pairings, so it gives me a happy.

Sorry you're feeling the anger lately. I hope that whatever it is that's causing you to feel this way will work itself out, or you're able to find a good healthy way to deal with it.

Talking to someone might not be a bad idea. I mean, if you need to get it off of your chest somehow, it's better than keeping it inside and letting it fester. You get sick enough as it is, you don't need the emotional sickness too...

Just keep hanging in there, kiddo. I'm all around the internet if you need to talk or vent or just have a laugh or two.

Sorry to hear about what you're feeling lately. If you wanna see a therapist or such, don't feel self concious about it. I feel like pretty much everyone is seeing a therapist or psychologist these days, including me. It may help to talk it out.
You get to read comics as part of the job prep? That is truly awesome.
I've never read The Little Princess (I know, for shame) only seen the movie. Love the cover of that comic!
