Today I had a day off! As mentioned before, for the whole month of March, I took all Fridays off to work on Jabberwocky. So Today, I got up, prepared my stuff for the Geekfest convention that starts tomorrow and drew. While I was drawing, I decided to watch the "My little pony : Friendship is magic" series that [livejournal.com profile] yamiloo , [livejournal.com profile] earthstar_moon  and many others recommended.

Damn. I kinda like it.

I like the designs, I like the animation, I like the voice acting. Kinda like Samurai Jack, Tinkerbell, Avatar or Kim Possible, it's a kid's show that is quite watchable for adults. It was born from the imagination of Lauren Faust, who in addition of being a talented artist is deal model of what a female animator should be. She was also the animator of Sawyer on "Cats don't Dance".

So yeah... I guess as I blast thru the episodes i'll have to think up of excuses to allow me to admit publicly that I like girly things and children's animation... Oh no, wait. guess that was already out in the open! Dodged a bullet there!

But seriously, it is a good show. It's the type of thing that I would buy on Dvd so that if ever have kids, they can watch it and instead of being annoyed by a bad, low-quality show, i'll be able to watch it with them and enjoy it. At least for the first 10 viewings or so.

The show is all on youtube (for now), so check it out!

Oh, and have some centaur-rified versions of the ponies. I could not help myself. The only reason why these aren't inked and colored is Jabberwocky.

I've loved centaurs since I was a kid. When I was a kid, I even drew a study about a centaur transfert student (from Greece, of course) and his many adventures with his Canadian friends. Yeah, I was a dork that way.

Anyways!

PONIES!

Okay, back to work for me.

Paintball is fun, but you're always sore after. And you have little round bruises. That's what Link discovered this weekend.

And those of you who use Tiger Balm know that it's awesome. It's like the Force was blended into a jelly. And then infused with ancient Kung Fu. I recommended it for all your sore muscles. And even for your "that-time-of-the-month" back pain. Be warned that the super-concentrated smell will last a while. It's not a bad smell. It's kinda like spices. Epic spices. Gathered by minotaurs in fields of fire. Available in your local pharmacy in the "natural" section, that should be renamed "badass" for containing this!

This week started off okay. Monday always has the weird clients with the weirdest questions. I have no idea why. It's like they practice over the course of the weekend.

Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] kokumi009  for this amazing Muse fanart (Click here to see it!). It's been a while since I drew my muse. Though I think she almost does better then me!

I had a pretty long discussion the other day with [livejournal.com profile] queenofthecute  about fans made videos and their pure awesome.

Discovered these lately :
- Epic Shugo Chara - A cute magical girl anime is made epic by changing the music and cutting the scenes quicker.
- Gift and curses - Avatar the last Airbender music fan video - one of queenie's favorites
- Legend of Zelda Trailer - Wondering what the live action movie might look like? These cosplayers did.
- Princess Tutu Epicness - again, a cute magical girl anime (with a side of tragic) turned into something extremely epic.
- Bossy merlin - Disney face characters never cease to amuse.

Behold!

Well, i'm happy. A new trailer for the "(avatar) the last airbender" movie was released. This one makes the movie look good. The first trailer had some random cheesy martial art with a TAN TAN TANNNN rock music background. This one actually looks like the movie has a story line.

Check it out, if you want.

For those of you who know the cartoon's story - Don't you just love that image of Yue diving in the pool? Dramatic!

I've been working on "trailer" stuff myself. Mostly sketches for the "Namesake" Webcomic project. Of course, it will be finished, fixed and colored before it's used, but tell me you would not click on this bad boy :

Yeeeah.

That's all for now. Over and out!

A friend of mine, Valerie, dared me to draw a comic involving a sock puppet and a straw. It gave this. I am either really crazy, or some kind of god of memes. This is also a bit of a musing on a fact I learned when I started living with Link. Boys and Girls really don't have the same levels of stinky. Boy stinky creates zombie!socks.

Valerie also reminded me of this cool video. University of Montréal students did a giant 100 people sip sync of "I Gotta Feeling" that crosses a whole university building and involves various costumes (keep a lookout for Sakespear and Waldo). It's quite the thing to behold. It was so popular on youtube, CNN aired it. It's hilarious. The last little bit in french is a translation of the song.

That's all for today. Enjoy the crazy randomness.
