Hiya peeps! I'm back from Ottawa. It was fun. I saw my family and some friends and got some new boots (and not a moment too soon. My current boots were losing their soles!) So all in all, a good weekend.

Seems this week is going to be busy. I work two evenings, get to see people on the other evenings, need to go to the dentist on Thursday morning and i'm somewhat behind on Namesake pages, so I need to draw a LOT this upcoming weekend, i'm hoping to do at least 4 pages. So, i'm going to have a pretty busy, but satisfying, week. I've been meaning to see people for a while. And I REALLY need to go to the dentist. And yeah, I got stuff I gotta do. I guess it's always like that heh? It's real quiet for a while and suddenly, busy!

Despite the incredible upcoming busy, I feel a lot better. I think this type of busy is the good type. The one that makes me feel happy at the end of the day. So i'm getting better.

Also, outside, it's perfect snow to make a fort and a snowball fight. It makes me want to declare war on my neighbors or something. During this type of weather, I wish I was 10 again. And then i'd make a snow dragon.

Too bad I don't have a back yard here in Montréal. My parents have a huge back yard and I didn't even think of challenging my brothers to combat. What was I thinking?

Oh, for those who wonder, the characters in the drawing aren't from anything. Sometimes, I like to just invent random characters. They kinda remind me of the Endless in "Sandman" (I blame you for that,[livejournal.com profile] asatira ).

Witches...

Just some sketches of the witches of Oz. I,ve been trying to re-read my old Oz books to refresh my memory for Namesake (the plot thickens in the webcomic, btw, things are getting stabby!) I tried to reference the original Oz illustrations for the clothing style. I found the clothing in Oz always looked like a mix of Indian/Asian and Victorian. It's very art nouveau. Behold :

As a result, it's flowy and crazy fun to draw.

I've been REALLY busy lately. Like, the insane end of busy. I can barely find time to draw, which is pretty much why all my sketches are Namesake-oriented. Mostly, my social life just boosted. Lately, i've had the chance to see many friends I haven't seen in a while. I took the chance to see them because I probably won't see most of them again before another 6 months at least! So please forgive my lack of internet presence, both in the sketching and on the chatting. Work is also real busy. In any case. I,m sorry. I wish I could be everywhere at once. Not because I feel I have to, but because I want to.

Honestly, I would not be so pressed for time if I didn't have to share my free time between "art" work and fun. Aaah, someday, someday. I,ll be able to draw all day and get my salary that way. I hope.

This weekend, I saw my parents too. and my friend Fauve's brand new house. I still can't believe she got a house at 25. Wow. Some people are organized.

Speaking of organized, while I was gone all weekend to see my parents in Ottawa, here in Montréal, Link re-organized the apartment. The studio looks so much better now. But I can,t find my scissors! And my paint! Argh! I have a bunch of things to find and put away. Oh well. A small sacrifice for a better studio.

I also took the time to watch How to Train your dragon. In two parts (while eating supper). It's... It's so awesome. I love it so. I get the feeling this and Tangled are going to be my favorite animated movies of all time. Why Tangled too? Because i'm super excited for every scrap of animation I see of Tangled. Clearly, the obsession as begun.

Just a little "How to train your dragon" fanart to end the week on a high note. Ruffnut and Tuffnut, aka them twins. Ruff is a bit girlier then I wanted her to be, but I love the inking, so i'm just going with it.

I moved stuff today. My workplace was moving from one office to another bigger and better office in the same building, but we still had to move stuff for most of the day. I ending up doing my actual job from like 3 to 5 pm. I left pretty tired. And glad to be going home.

Tomorrow, my extended family is visiting me. It's pretty rare. Back when I was a kid, I saw my extended family about 5 times per year because they lived so far. I don't have a really close relationship with them, but i'm still happy they are visiting.

And free time will obviously be dedicated to drawing Namesake paaaages. I'm having way to much fun drawing these.

I finished reading Castle Waiting yesterday. OMG. That comic. It's crazy. It reminds me of the epic that is BONE. Because of the black and white art and the incredible backgrounds and expressions. The whole thing is a huge fairy tale mockery bonanza. I love it. I really should thank my friend Sandra for lending it to me. We keep leading comics to each other. Been a while since I spoke to her though. I almost feel like I should make a list to make sure I keep track of people. Ack.

Busy life, heh?
