 I picked up two movies last week; the Dead like me movie and the final segment of the Futurama movies. I didn't watch Futurama "Into the Wild Green Yonder" yet, but I did watch Dead Like me. The Dead Like Me movie was a little weird. It felt like they had a great plot idea in the intro and then it died half-way thru the plot. The camera blurs were annoying. I was sad that Rube was gone, though it worked well in the plot of Georga getting a "Raise"... I really didn't like the new Daisy, the actress wasn't pretty or classy enough. I was glad the kept the same actress as Reggie (she grew up so well!). I liked the whole Georga-Reggie thing going on, even if it was full of cheesiness (also, wtf Reggie boyfriend was a complete asshole.)

You could tell the movie didn't go where the directors wanted it to, and it didn't answer any of the plotholes remaining in the series. I did like getting a spoonfull of George's attitude once more, getting to see Reaper murders was hilarious, and I love the movie introduction, done in comic form. But generally, it was kinda disapointing. I think they lacked budget and didn't get the actors or settings they wanted and had to make due. Meh, it was worth a try and die-heart fans will at least enjoy seeing the characters get one last run. Considering this was pretty much a flop I do believe it WILL be the last run. But that's okay, this way Dead like me and Death keeps it's mysteries.

I do have to say... POST ITS RAINING FROM THE SKY = Awesome.

Now for drawings; I,m in a big banner mood, so I drew the website banner [livejournal.com profile] earthstar_chan  asked me to. The theme is "a sea of tea"... I really like it. Especially Ozel doing her super-robot-ninja-maid serving tea. The world needs more super-robot-ninja-maids. It only lacks color, I wait for Johanne to tell me what type of colors she would like to see in here.

Again, for a project with earthstar_chan ... Here is a few sketches. It's for a giant Slayers fanfic-with-illustrations based on the idea of transmitting the story to a steampunk universe (much like the one you can find in Howl's moving Castle or the webcomic Girl Genius). At first it seemed like we were going to do a very "Alternate universe" type of story, but more and more as we compose the plot, this is actually going to a be a story that ties in nicely with the series and the novels. You'll all see. Here are the costume designs for lina and Amelia...

The plot is somewhat secret for now, but it's going to be amazing! You'll see!

Bah, as a final note i'd like to express my extreme geekout over Watchmen and the Harry Potter trailer. WOW. Even if the movie WOULD suck (but that's impossible) they both look so beautiful O_O... It's crazy what you can do with digital cameras and special effects these days!

Hehe, Ozel is pretty awesome (and all those different teatrays she's got!).

You two are making me very curious about this steampunk collaboration. I can't wait to see more!

That is gorgeous. I should hire you to do an up-to-date LJ banner because yours and Jo's are awesome. *squishes you* I still love the other you did for me too! When did you want me to code your site for you?

I was thinking you coud code it as soon as I get my own new banner. I created a design for one i'm just... lazy at coloring it XD

If you want a banner, we can trade coding time for banner time. equivalent exchange. I,m re-doing everybody's banner lately *laughs*

Deal! *shakes hands* I shall also turn bits of your new banner into icons for a coherent theme as well if you'd like.

Something tells me you had far too much fun drawing that banner. A car with Disney Princesses in it? Gasp! ^_- (Weird seeing Stitch randomly sprouting from Ozel's head. He must be excited for the hot drink, but bummer for him when he learns it isn't coffee!)

I almost didn't see the goggles on Lina's head! I was too busy puzzling over her willingness to wear a (pretty!) dress.. o_O;

Stitch on Ozel's head is awesome! Especially because she looks so neutral.

The reason why Lina is in a dress is because Steampunk stories tend to be in some form of victorian-style era. In victorian eras, women don't wear pants. Something I noticed in slayers is that compared to other characters, lina is very convered, so I assume somewhat conservative when it comes to showing off the goods. So I gave her a basic, victorian middle class style. Hence the skirt. Amelia is going to have two costumes; a dress (quite frilly) and this number. I figured amelia would pull off pants because she is royalty and she was raised by her dad, who is pretty open minded. Lina was raised by merchants, so I think the skirt was the way to go. I don't think it makes her look girly though, she actually looks really confortable in that!

Plus, in the story Lina is running a shop, so she probably figured she would attract more costumers in traditional dress rather than cause a scandal if she wore pants.

I'm just not a lover of dresses, and I have no idea what your story is about. I really do think Lina looks nice in it.

We aren't attacking you, we are just explaining *laughs* And she does look so pretty!

EEEE!! Thank you! Thank you! *glomps* I love it! It's funny how we were talking about how we both like Ozel and here she is. *looks at the characters* Wow! You did a great job adding all of the characters in. Even Cara! I was worried I gave you too many. ^_^;

As for colouring. *thinks* Probably doing bright colours would be a good idea or at least a combination of colours that would blend well with blue since that's the colour of my LJ.

I love Lina and Amelia's character designs. *giggles at Lina wearing goggles* This fic is going to be awesome!

Again THANK YOU!! *hugs*

I skipped the lady and the tramp because...well, they weren't tall enough to stick out of the cups and I didn't want to deal with that. XD But everybody else fitted right in. It's a little crowded maybe, but fun.

THE GOOGLES ARE THE KEY!

*nods* Very understandable, since they're dogs, they might not have enjoyed being in a teacup boat anyway. ^_~

Googles are key to the universe. XP

Slayers meets Girl Genius! What an awesome idea! :)

Yeah, I know this isn't a crossover or anything. But the two series have such complementary tones that I'm surprised no one else has made the comparison before.

And the girls look awesome in that picture! Are you going to put up some Victorian Zel and Gourry drawings next?

Girl genius and Slayers do have a lot of things in common. Mainly the whole humor/fantasy story style. I also see a lot of similarities between the Other and Mazoku.

Lina was originally going to be a mecanic. According to an interview with Hajime Kananza, the original story had Luna as the star, and Lina was a younger, cloned version of Luna who loved mecanincs. So really, it just demanded to be done!

Victorian zel n' Gourry coming soon (and dare I say...hot.)

*evil grin* I can't wait to see that.

(On that note, we can always have a gag comic of Agatha versus steampunk Lina XD )

Oh, a gag comic of Agatha and Lina would be great fun! Girl Genius is one of my all time favorite webcomics! Anyway, your joint effort will be awesome, I'm sure, given the taste you've given here..

Alright! Luna as the star, Lina as a mechanic, and Gourry as a villain!? I really hope someone here can track that interview down because I just don't believe it! O_o

And, BTW, I can't wait for the boys' picture. :)

I meant to ask, do you have an AIM?
