So, hi everybody...

I really wanted to draw a comic for today, but i'm really dead. Dead Dead Deaders. This bus strike thing in Ottawa is really stretching out my work hours, plus the walks in winter and the general woe that comes with the time of the month... Isa is dead tired.

So instead, I took pictures of the project i'm working on right now. Friends of mine and myself are working on a big quilt. It's a very non-traditional quilt though, and it's super artistic. Everyone in the group is making a few squares for the quilt. Here are mine.

Mine combine sewing, toys and drawing. The theme of the quilt was "Security Blanket". I chose to think of children security blankets (or blankie, if you are intimate) and on how they kinda protect you from harm in your imagination and can become a magic carpet, a tent, a friend... This also taps a little bit in the ideas of children abuse because honestly the statistics for child violence and abuse still frighten me. Once finished the quilt will be expose in Montréal for the art Nuit Blanche event.

I miss painting with watercolors right now. I think i'll try to do some this weekend. AFTER SEEING INKHEART!

Okay, that right there is just downright cool! I've been wanting to make a quilt for longer than I've been sewing, so for you (who said you can't sew?) to be working on one anyway...and gosh, making it artistic! I just need to get off my butt and do the same.

(Seriously though, child abuse has got to stop.)

I'm learning about child abuse in my course and it's scary how often it happens. It has to stop.

I CAN'T sew. This is more poking at things with a needle then sewing. I lack the patience to sew. I have a lot more patience when I work on paper because I feel every movement I make gets a reaction wherehas string does not always go the way I want to too. It took me like 3 weeks to make 5 squares. XD

Make sure you get a good one. I read a few. Some are good and accurate, but others show him as a playboy (????) and others as a dirty pedophile. Not that i'm saying the pedophile thing is not true (it might be, who the hell knows?) but some books really make him sound like a perverted, lusting, heaving, sweaty nerd.

You can actually read his personal journal. It was published. Pages are missing though (pages claimed to have been lost by the family. It covers up a few issues. Wonder why?)

I see those seams. Trust me, you can sew. (I knew someone once who told me she knew how, but when I helped her with a quick fix I learned the awful truth!) And now you know why I don't sew more often, because it is a lot of work to get the needle and thread to obey your will. I would do more hand-sewing since it's the best for this, but it takes soooooooo long!

Yeah, that's one with the pedophile theories, thought I think this one shows it as being repressed and he's celibate. Not one of the yucky ones, so you're cool.

It's hard to avoid the pedophile theories, after all, he might have been one. I prefer to think he loved the girls but never acted on it.

Oh, that's one of the best ones i've read too. Cohen is a scholar, so he's got some evidence to back stuff up. Good book.
