Great, I caught a virus. Or rather, my poor PC Hermes did. The virus pretty much raped the computer's insides and left me pc-less. I still have my labtop, a mac, which allows me to do my work, but now my scanner, printer and graphic tablet are offline due to the fact that I only have installation cds for windows. Not for macs.

CRAP IN A HAT!

I'm very angry.

Well, a friend agreed to come and take a look and fix the said PC this weekend. So at least that's good. *moan*

Oh, a few people asked me what I wanted for x-mas. Honestly? I would love some fanfics! I'm a crummy writer, so I love other people's good stuff. *laughs* I'm open for fanfics involving : Disney's Alice, Wall-e, Slayers, Futurama, Secondlina's Panel's characters, fairy tales, Howl's moving Castle, Full metal Alchemist or even...Waldo and Carmen Sandiago XD

As far as virus scans go, I'd say fork out the 80 bucks and buy Kapersky. My in-laws swear by it, as do Gourry and I. I haven't had any trouble with viruses since we purchased it.

Ack, pain. What brand/model scanner/printer/tablet? Maybe I can find you Mac drivers.

The scanner is a Canon, canoscan 4200f.
The tablet is a Wacom Intuos PTZ-630

I tried finding some mac drivers, but I didn't find anything. Maybe my scanner is too old? Or maybe i don't visit the right channels.

...I'd put something intelligent here, but my smarts all just drained from my brain just now, apparently... I think gullwhacker is on the right track, in fact he's offering what I did in my e-mail, too. Often you just need a minor thing to get the Mac to recognize things you hook up to it. When all else fails, check out Apple Support for help. I often check the forums to find ways of fixing my problems.

(It might be worth taking the time to get them installed to the laptop just in case this incident occurs again.)
