FIRST...The GIRLS!!!

1) Secondlina: Also known of her true name as Isabelle. Isabelle (me) is a wannabee comic artist and a visual arts/management of the arts student in her soon to be final university year (next term!) Isabelle is a rather spacy person who dyes her hair orange and often wears colorful bohemian-type clothing. Isabelle appears in both invented storylines and biographical storylines. The character of Isabelle seems to jump from the real to the absurd rather quickly and does not seem bothered by all the characters living at her house. The occational hole in the wall is bothersome though. Isabelle does not seem to have any special type of powers. Isabelle first appeared on the 15th of november 2005 (http://secondlina.livejournal.com/2005/11/15/)
2) Lina Inverse: Lina inverse is a short tempered sorceress from the Anime/manga Slayers. She is madly in love with the character of Gourry but will deny it completly. Lina seems to be Isabelle's advisor, though her temper and greed will often lead to chaos. Lina appears mainly in the invented storylines. She has magical powers of sorcery and can also cast dark spells of extremly destructive magnitude such as the Dragon Slave. Lina first appeared as a speaking character (and not just fanart) on august 12th 2006 (http://secondlina.livejournal.com/2006/08/12/)
3) Megan Lavey: or also known as
savvyliterate Megan is your typical fangirl. She's often attacked by plotbunnies and seems to be having a lot of fun dropping into the journal once in a while. Megan is also a fanfic writter and a journalist. Megan does not have any special powers and first appeared on the 10th of august 2006 (http://secondlina.livejournal.com/2006/08/10/)
4) Diane Ichiban: some call her
ichiban_victory and she's a bit of everyone good conscience. Diane is a college student and works part time for the C.R.A.C. She is also a big D&D fan. Diane special powers are limited to the ones she can access through he C.R.A.C. position. Diane is part of the "Unsupervised Chaos Correction Squad" but her dream is to be part of the C.R.A.C's Decency Police. Diane first Appeared on the 12th november 2005 ( http://secondlina.livejournal.com/2005/11/12/) but she presented herself as a C.R.A.C agent on the 31th of october 2006 (http://secondlina.livejournal.com/33573.html#cutid3)
5) Anlise D'Carn: Anlise is a young healer from the Secondworld, an online RP community to which Isabelle is the DM. Anlise acts out like she's everyone's inner fangirl, so she's scary at times. Anlise is happy-go-lucky, goodie-two-shoe and hyper. She also has a thing for Gourry, but that just might be the fandom talking. The secondworld community is situated here: http://community.livejournal.com/secondworld_rpg/ Every entry adds a part to the story. Character descriptions and extra fanworks are on the Secondworld fan community: http://community.livejournal.com/secondworld_fan/.
6)Minako Aino: Minako is from the series of Sailor Moon. Her alter Ego is Sailor V. She is a little dense, a little light headed and a little pig headed. Her dream is to be an idol (the singing kind, not the creepy godlike workship kind though one might find both similar). She and Anlise will most likely be best friends and terrify the rest of us. Minako as not yet made an appearance in the journal but it's coming.
7) Renge Venka: Renge is a wizard from the Secondworld. She is also part dragon. Her powers have an influence on the flow of time. Renge is cursed with the spirit of Anlise's ex-husband, causing her to turn into a man once in a while when she uses certain spells. Renge and Anlise are best friends. Renge might also have feelings for Anlise, but she denies it completly and Anlise doesn't notice at all. Renge is very quiet and broody. If she smiles, run.
8) Sylphiel Nel Rada: Sylphiel is a character from the anime series Slayers. Sylphiel used to be a cleric and in love with Gourry. Although, a lot of fans treated her like an obstacle to Gourry and Lina's relationship so her role in the series and in fanworks was very limited. She eventually got ticked off and understood that bad girls got the spotlight, so she turned herself evil and tried to kill Isabelle and take over the journal as her first evil act. Sylphiel then got arrested by the C.R.A.C. Sylphiel's evil powers manifest themselves as strange tentacular shapes. Sylphiel's devious side first appears here: http://secondlina.livejournal.com/16612.html#cutid1 Where she objects herself to fangirl's bad treatment of zel. She turns fully evil during the Halloween segment: http://secondlina.livejournal.com/33573.html#cutid3 Sylphiel is currently in prison. But she'll be back. She did swear vengance after all...
NOW...The BOYS!

1) Link: Also known as Pascal. Link is a 3d artist who came originally in a package of three (he's a triplet.) Link is an actual person, and he is Isabelle's boyfriend. Link appears both in biographical and invented storylines. Rather easy going, he tends to blend in well with the general chaos caused by the other characters. Link defeated Sylphiel at a D&D initiative roll. Link does not have powers but he has a rat tail. He also believes there is no sure thing as over-enthusiasm and for what you lack in sense you can make up with perseverance. Link first appears on the 4th of november 2005 (http://secondlina.livejournal.com/2011.html) but is not actually named before the 7th of august 2006! http://secondlina.livejournal.com/21227.html (referred before then as "my friend" "my boyfriend")
2) Miroku: Perveted Monk originally from the Inuyasha anime series, he first appeared during the Halloween special. His main role is to state the obvious and grab butts. But we still like him. He has a gaping hole in one of his palm that allows him to use a powerful form of attack called the wind tunnel that sucks everything around him in another dimension located in his hand. Mainly an invented storyline character.
3) Gourry Gabriev: Swordman from the Slayers anime series. Gourry is often compared as being stupid as a jellyfish. He is quite dense actually, but very kind-hearted and good-looking. He's in love with Lina and growing somewhat impatient with the way she is treating him, which is rather violent and bad. On his first appearance as a character, he gets immadiatly blasted by Lina and misses the whole adventure (http://secondlina.livejournal.com/31386.html#cutid2) only to wake up lost and mad (http://secondlina.livejournal.com/35097.html#cutid1)
4) Artemis: Minako's Pet cat who can turn into a human. He is a white cat originally present in the anime Sailor Moon. Artemis is wise and calm and generally less chaotic then the gang. Artemis has yet to do an appearance.
5) Inuyasha: Hero from the anime Inuyasha, Inuyasha is mean, arrogant, trigger happy and territorial. But deep down. Really deep down. He's a sweetie. He is a part-demon (youkai) and fights with a big sword carved in his father's tooth. Inuyasha first appears in the Halloween special where his main role is to intimidate people and break stuff. http://secondlina.livejournal.com/32169.html#cutid1
6) Zelgadiss Greywords: Another Slayers character. Zel is a chimera with skin made of stone. In the anime, his personnality is very dark and broody but on the journal he becomes somewhat looser and is arrested by the C.R.A.C for a strip performance. http://secondlina.livejournal.com/14616.html http://secondlina.livejournal.com/15426.html#cutid1
http://secondlina.livejournal.com/16114.html#cutid1 http://secondlina.livejournal.com/16612.html
Zel eventually becomes very attached for a mysterious reason to Isabelle's toaster. http://secondlina.livejournal.com/23114.html
7) Luigi JR. : Son of THE Luigi, brother of THE Mario from THE nintendo. Luigi Jr has quite a rep to live up to. Unfortunaly, he can't go down a tunnel worth a damn, so he recycled himself by working for the C.R.A.C. Diane is his superior for whom he has incredible admiration. Luigi has yet to appear.
8) Nave: Nave is an ex-plotbunny turned into a human after a job upgrade. Nave is an Arc, one who protects muses. He is sent to the gang when odd events start to occur. Nave as yet to appear but his presence will cause great ordeal in the group. Nave is one of Megan's old plotbunnies so he feels a bit akward around her. Nave is mostly in smaller form because of bugdet cuts but he can grow to full human sixze once in a while.
OTHERS Characters...

The Secondworld Crew: The rest of the RP characters will once in a while drop in to visit Renge and Anlise.

The Slayers Crew: Other characters from the Slayers Anime will drop by to add to the plot on occation.

Toaster: Zel'sLady Love Plaything Fetishism ...obsession? Nobody really gets it, but he seems infactuated with the toaster. He will defend the toaster with his life. so beware.

Other random characters: Voldemort, Harry Potter, Final Fantasy, etc. Random characters WILL pop up in order to underline or critisize an element of the storyline or the comic. It's like finding Waldo.

Work Creatures: Work creatures represent Isabelle's workload. They can't say anything but "Work" and come in different sizes and personnalities. The Works have gradually turned into the journal mascots. Some say the are onigiri. Others maintain the are made of rock or marshmallow. Works first appeared here: http://secondlina.livejournal.com/10817.html

Plotbunnies: Plotbunnies are sortoff low-class muses who reproduce fast and are very insistant. Not everyone can have a private visit from a muse, so bunnies are middle-management. They often serve poets and anime fanfic writters. Oh, and pop music writters.

"Real" people: Friends who actually live in Isabelle's home town and who mostly appear in biographical pages. These friends are mainly Fauve, Tama and Stephane (bald guy). Tama has her own set of comics that appear on her journal
tuppa_tuppa

"web" people: Other online friends aside from the ones presented in the main characters will also make appearances. Most of them are players on the Secondworld.
Muses: Muses are mystical beings who own the company that creates dreams for humans. The muses work with Plotbunnies and work creatures to make sure humans stay inspired. Nine muses direct the main office of the Dream. Arc are warriors destined to protect the Muses. But when the Muses start getting attacked by nightmares, Isabelle and her friends need to step in.
Nightmares: Savage creatures who seek to harm muses for reasons that are yet to discovered.
The C.R.A.C : The CRAC is a comittee who takes care of Animated and drawn censorship. They first appear to deal with Zelgadiss' odd stripping habits. They then arrest Sylphiel for causing dangerous unsupervised chaos.
The D.A.D.S : Departement of Animated and Drawn Security. Amelia Seiroon from Slayers is the main detective or their agency. Most of the officers that work with her are officer Jenny's from the animated series of Pokemon.
And that's all for characters!!
The story arc i'm working on next will explore the Muses and the nightmares. ^^ It should start soon. For those who don't know it, here is the Halloween Series that precedes this new soon-to-be storyline called "The Musical"
Halloween Resume:
Isabelle organises a halloween party at her house. Zelgadiss spikes all the punch bols leading to general drunken chaos. Isabelle and Link are locked in the kitchen by their friends who assume they are doing "things" that the CRAC would disaproove of in general audience comics. Since the CRAC agents are at the party, the gang must save Isa's honor or they might loose their home!

Is he identical?
Sorry about the influx of questions...
no subject
Date: 2007-04-05 11:51 pm (UTC)And yeah, Link's a triplet. I used to think it was cool, but a lot of the people I know are twins, so I think I just collect multiples XD Most people never meet a twin in their lives. I can choose from a bundle. *laughs*
He has an identical brother. The third one is a non-identical girl called Sophie. Identical triplets are rare. You usually have a twin and then an extra kid in another pocket. But he has a twin that's for sure. And they get along pretty well. XD
no subject
Date: 2007-04-06 10:44 pm (UTC)I have a few original characters that are twins. I find multiples to be fascinating. I sometimes wish I was a twin...
I use an icon of Rei from MARS because his character is a twin.

Date: 2007-04-06 02:06 pm (UTC)After discovering DQBunny's LJ, I found your LJ through her LJ and have been delighted by your comics and art. I appreciate your imagination, style of humor, and talent and style in comic drawing. I have zilch fine art talent and don't know much, but I think you have a flow and grace with your comics. Somehow with a minimum of lines, your characters feel complete and move naturally. Yeah, I'm a fan-crone (since I'm way too old to be a fangirl).
no subject
Date: 2007-04-06 03:07 pm (UTC)Thank you for the nice comments about my drawings! I've always tried to keep the style clear and simple despite the sketchyness of it ^_^ According to a few people my forte is expressions and mouvement. I pride myself about that.
I don't think there anything wrong with "fancronism" actually, both my parents are in the 50's and still buy a lot of comics (mainly european ones though). It's through my parents that I leanred about comics. It is them that encouraged me to read them (although my mom thinks I spend too much on them *laughs*) I was even named by a comics (Isabelle, a little orange haired appretice witch). So I guess my parents are older fans as well. Heck, comic writters or illustraters who work until their late 60's also fall into that category I believe. And as far as we know, all the people on this LJ might end up like my parents or yourself *laughs*
I don't believe you'd be a fan crone. More a fan sage.
So anyway, welcome. I hope you like it here. Please forgive my spelling mistakes. I'm french and still learning to speak and write english correctly.
no subject
Date: 2007-04-07 06:40 pm (UTC)Fan sage. I like it, although it makes me sound like a poultry seasoning. Well, I AM a seasoned person. [smirk]
You make a heck of a lot less spelling mistakes than many, many people for whom English is their native language. Until you mention it, it is hard to believe English is not your main language in your writing, unless a cognate slips through, like "mouvement" above. It's been so long since I've studied French that I don't dare try to write anything in it, because I'm so out of practice.

Date: 2007-04-09 05:11 am (UTC)I'm glad I don't make too many spelling mistakes, I had to give in a few papers in english, i'd hate to loose all my grammar points. A lot of people think i'm anglophone by reading what I write or listening to my speaking but when I point out that my native language is french they start noticing the accent and the slip ups. But I don't want to pass as english anyways. I'm proud of my french ^^

Date: 2007-04-09 02:50 am (UTC)That's an amazing effort, including even the "first time seen on", and all the halloween and the stripped Zel (hilarious both).
I don't remember quite exactly when I found your journal (mostly because it was so interesting and bright I had to read all the archives) but I remember I found it following a comment in ichiban_victory journal (and google found hers for me while doing a slayers search if I recall correctly).
Wow, Minako, she was my favorite one (now the "why were you watching anime|manga for girls" usually appears).
Thanks for the amazing recap, it has been really an experience to have lurked so far, keep the good work.

Ps. Happy Easter for every reader here.

Date: 2007-04-09 05:14 am (UTC)I found Ichiban's stuff through a google search too. I was suprised to see she made dolls. When I saw that her site was still updated and that she wanted to trade dolls for doujins I immediatly contacted her XD
Minako rocks. And it's understandable that you saw Sailor moon. I mean, back in the day, the're wasn't as many manga out as now...Heck, a lot of it was shoujo.

Date: 2007-04-13 11:46 pm (UTC)After talking to Fauve about that, I decided it would be cool to have sailor V aboard! Give her a bit of the lost spotlight...Also, gives me a chance to play with that whole Sailor v/human artemis coupling which so many fans (including myself) love XD
