I love and hate when this happens. When you draw an awesome drawing with awesome looking characters and they totally look like there’s a story there but you have no idea what it is…

This is one of those drawings.

A little girl (dubbed “Wendy” by friends) and a boy who is a spark gobbler, or a light-eater. He basically feeds on light. Friends have decided that he lives with an over-dramatic tragic poet in a steampunk world. That's actually kinda cool.

hmmmmm, if I stare at it long enough, I can start to see something form. Maybe something will spring up. :)

That happens to me all the time. I think all artists have sketchbooks littered with cool characters that never really went anywhere.

They have cool character tea parties where they discuss artists.

As someone who has made more than a few D&D characters, it's pretty normal to not really know much of anything about a character until you become more familiar with them. I suspect if you draw these two often enough, a story will start to evolve. ^_-

I'm thinking that might be it too. MUST DRAW!

What brendala said. I think we all accidentally invent characters from time to time. Sometimes they'll eventually "tell" you who they are, sometimes not. For me, the ones that don't talk tend to get their appearance taken and molded into one of my existing universes until I figure out their personal stories.

These two are adorable, and I'm quite curious about them. Wendy's hair is fabulous.

I really hope they want to talk to me. I want to know more about them too!

I absolutely agree with everyone who said that most artists have sketchbooks filled with unused characters! :p *sigh* Poor things...

You will have to develop the over-dramatic poet. ;) I was actually thinking about him, today, and how nice of a character he would be!

À Dimanche! :-D
