Namesake art! This art will be included in printed form in the issue we'll be selling at Fan Expo in two weeks.

Well, now begins the countdown to my super-busy-last-two-weeks-of-august which have two weddings and a convention. Could ahve bee 3 weddings too, but two happen on the same day in different cities so I had to choose. So yeah. I'm going to be going to work, traveling to Toronto and Ottawa and drawing like a mad woman for the next couple of days. LET THE RACE BEGIN.

Thankfully, stuff is awesome and i'm pretty generally ready for all events. I have a lot to do, but it's mostly taking care of details. Like going to fetch the Jabberwocky re-prints (YAAAAY MORE BOOKS!)

Today, I got a bit of a wind of nostalgia since I picked up the new american McGee's Alice game from a buddy yesterday night. and also discussed Final Fantasy 9  with Link. That was a good game. Gets a lot of bad criticism but I love it. Then again, i'm just a casual gamer. So i'm not much of a connaisseur.

I'm loving that the internet exploded with fanart for the upcoming French movie "a Monster in Paris". It's fun to see French animation get attention. I really can't wait for it!

Dwarves are just fun and awesome. How can you not love them? I was saddened to learn that at one point Disney had thought of doing a whole franchise on the Disney Dwarves along with the fairies, but they ending up dropping the idea. Too bad, I can imagine the art for it would have been great.

I can see you doing a comic on dwarves or at least a one shot at some point.

I do have a question about the clothing Alice and Wendy are wearing. Are they uniforms of some sort or do they serve a different function? The design seems rather deliberate for simply a fashion choice. I was just kinda curious.

Calliope doesn't have official uniforms, but they are very practical outfits. For instance, Wendy has easy access to knives, a gun and her boots are enchanted.

Hehe, FF9 is an awesome game!! Haha, you probably see my rambling in some non-coherent fashion about it half the time in my blog... Seems to be getting a little more love these days (or maybe people are more vocal about it) with Dissidia being out.

I love the dwarf picture. This is the first time I've ever seen a pin-up style drawing of a dwarf.


I loved the heck out of FF9 back in the day. The epic badness of FF8 almost scared me away from the franchise forever; but FF9 brought me back.

...wait, FF9 gets a lot of bad criticism? I know some people weren't fond of the chibi character designs. But I remember most fans being happy that the series returned to it's colorful fantasy roots after two games that centered on sci-fi and crazy technology.

A lot of fans seemed to have found the game childish. But then again, with a lot of fans, if it's not FF7, it's crap.

So I have doubts about how objective they are.
