Just a little drawing I did for gullwhacker , as commissioned by his lovely bride-to-be, earthstar_chan . It's the characters from a game/anime called Umineko. I don't actually know this series, but I found the main character, a powerful witch to be quite badass and fun to draw. 

I also think i'm getting better at inking gradually. It's fun to see actual improvement in your personal work at a gradual pace. It's encouraging. Makes you feel like you aren't trapped in inspiration limbo. 

Happy new year to everyone! I didn't do anything to celebrate. I got hit pretty hard by an illness, so i'm staying indoors, sitting on a futon and reading Kenshin. Doesn't mean this year won't be fun because it started "badly". Naw, if anything, i'm actually relaxing, which is good! :D

I want to draw mermaids...

I'm trying to think of a good background drawing to put on my tumbrl page... It's not created yet, i'm in the process of it and I have no idea what to draw for my background. Suggestions please?

Get better soon! It's good to be able to relax a little, especially at this time of year, but it sucks that you're sick. Have fun reading Kenshin - I just sped through it for a second time myself. I'd forgotten how much I loved the manga.

The manga is awesome. Despite so much stuff just looking kinda out of place. Some of the villains really don't fit samourai stories.

God, the textures! Your textures and patterns slay me every time, they make me hungry for more. Love the way her smoke creeps around like a spectre, reaching for the teapot... And God, you have the best way with body language and expression.

Your work seems to grow more and more detailed my dear :) And I see an improvement in your inking as well, your lines have more distinction in thickness and finesse that I know is hard to master.

Oh, my God, Umineko no Naku Koro ni. +__+ Beatrice is GORGEOUS liek whoa. THAT DRESS. And she is badass.

I only watched the anime, though I hear from a reliable source that the visual novel is a lot better, but it isn't like I ever had access to it in the first place. >D

I watched a few videos to get a feel for the characters. The story seems fun. I don't know if it's my cup of teat though. But it's a ncie example of someone doing a lot with not much (the visual novels were all done by one dude...)

Yup, the visual novels are done by one man. He did the art, designed the characters and the story, amazing no? His art has REALLY improved since he did Higurashi. It's a doujin game that got released at the cons. One in the summer and the next in the new year.

Sorry you felt kinda sick for New Years. This year we actually went and did something with actual people! Wow! And we had a lot of fun, too!!

But spending some time with Kenshin and co. I'd say is time well spent.

I would LOVE to see you draw mermaids!! I was OBSESSED with mermaids as a little girl and I still have such fondness for them...

As for your Tumblr background, maybe a collage of the things that interest you and some of the projects you do? I think it would be a good way of telling people who you are at a glance. For mine I just have a basic sparkly background, which works perfectly fine for me.

I tried the collage thing, but then it occurred to me I hated collages. I think i'm just going to make something with a good header. Probably something involving drawing.

Speading time with Kenshin always makes me feel nostalgic. Not to mention, it's Link's books. I remember the first times I burrowed them.

Does he have the entire series? I have mine tucked away somewhere in my closet. I'm not as generous in lending out my books as some people are. Mostly because I'm kinda anal about it. I like to keep my books in as pristine condition as I can. I don't even lend books to my mom because she has a tendency to bend the spine which irritates me to no end.

Before the later part of the series had been translated, I downloaded the Jinchuu Arc onto SEVERAL CD ROMS and read them that way. I could probably get rid of them since I have the official English versions now.
