Apparently, there's going to be an extra "movie" on the "How to train your Dragon" double pack. Well, i'm happy that's what I ordered. I really didn't know about this. But it looks funny. I certainly look forward to more adventures with the gang. "How to train your dragon" really seems to be one of my favorite animated movies, if not THE favorite. It's coming out in 8 days and I can't wait. I guess it satisfies the love for dragons i've had since I was a kid. :D

Speaking of Dreamworks, i'm really looking forward to Megamind. Even more now that the story is a bit more defined by the longer trailer. Yeah, it looks cheesy, but so far, I love all the animated movies done about superheroes (like the Incredibles and Despicable Me). Also, i've learned lately that trailers are pretty misleading. So, even if the trailer makes it look very cheesy, considering some of the lines don't seem to stick with the images and the mouth moving, i'm hoping this is a chop job from the marketing department. So i'm expecting a good movie.

Still on the animated movie front, DISNEY! WHY CAN'T YOU RELEASE DECENT DVDS OF YOUR TV SERIES? I'm very inteested in checking out "Kim Possible" (thank you, [livejournal.com profile] elle_white ) because I discovered one of my favorite voice-actresses is Shego. Neat. However, there's no Dvds of the tv series anywhere! I decided to check out itunes. All four seasons are there, but they are partial seasons. Disney only released half the season of all FOUR of them. What the hell? The worse part is, it's not even a definitive cut. You stop at episode nineteen and then skip the 25th. Huh? Disney, how could you even screw up on itunes? You have no marketing or packaging to do! Only files to submit! Plus according to the comments, these have been in partial season form for quite some time. Wow. This kinda reminds of the horrors of the "Gargoyles" Dvd. Can someone please teach Disney how to make decent Tv series box sets? How can someone so adept at distributing movies such so bad at series? Do they even care?

I'll still check out "Kim possible". I hear really good things about it. And it gives me something to watch while I doodle pages.

It IS on DVD, well, the TV movies are. I wish they'd release all the seasons on DVD. >:0

Yay! I can't wait to get the HTTYD DVD and I really want to see Megamind. Trailers have been misleading lately. I remember the first HTTYD trailer didn't really impress me and look how that turned out.

Kim Possible has had a funny history with Disney. Here's a fun fact, the reason they decide to write season 4 (It was suppose to end with season 3) was because how popular it became in Germany. It just shows how powerful fandom can be. It's a shame how they're not released on DVDs. (Not to mention all the other shows I want to see on DVD, Hercules tv series, the Wuzzles, rest of Garogyles *grumble()

Technically, when Disney stopped at season 3, KP fans petitioned for a 4th season. And it worked. I'm just sad I never got to see much of season 4. I heard good things about it.

I think it was a mixture of both. It wouldn't be the first time fans in another country brought a series back to life.

The anime Trigun wasn't that successful in Japan, but it was a huge successful here in North America. It was such a success in fact, that they recently made a Trigun movie. The creator of the series has admitted that it was due to the North American fanbase that they were able to create it. ^_~

That's not so uncommon though. The Metroid series is not that popular at all in its mother country, Japan, but Nintendo has continued to deliver sequels to the Western market, where it is incredibly popular. There are just some story concepts and tellings that will be more well received in one society over another. (Trigun fits into the Western/Cowboy genre well, despite the sci-fi elements. Something that Western society has loved for a great long time - even Western countries where such things never existed!)

Bah, I wish I owned Trigun. It is a good series.

I saw a bunch of Megamind clips at the Guinness event and it looks fantastic. I totally plan to see it (and not just because I got a free movie pass for helping Dreamworks with their recent publicity stunt ~_^).

Kim Possible never got a proper DVD release!? I remember Kim Possible being really popular back when it was still airing; so I can't believe it never got a decent season set! O_o
Oy vey! What is with Disney and not knowing how to handle any show made more than 5 years ago? And why the hell would they randomly leave episodes out of the iTunes release? Do they WANT to push the few honest, paying fans to say "screw this nonsense! I'm downloading a KP Torrent instead!"?

Free passes are still a nice score! Especially for doing something you would have done for nothing!

Seems that way. I really don't know why they do such a muck-up job for dvd releases. It's like they don't expect kids to want to re-watch these over and over? THAT'S WHAT KIDS DO!

Yes, Disney is very bad when it comes to getting their series out on DVD. I feel for you. I was lucky I got into Kim pretty early on, but I didn't catch all the episodes of the last season.

Looking forward more to Megamind. I can see where it'll go (stupid marketing revealed a bit too much in one commercial), but the fun is seeing how it'll get there.

Yeah, a few plot points are pretty obvious (like for instance Megamind ending up with the reporter chick... too bad it's a youth movie because just throwing in "sorry i'm gay" or "my race can't do your race!" would have been hilarious as hell!)

Kim Possible was the only reason I watched Disney Channel. I loved that cartoon! Disney actually released the movies on DVD at least. I know I bought one at one point...yes, I did love the series that much!

Also, Shego is one of the best characters to come along in a long time, and I love her voice actress as well! I even managed to get a Shego figurine from a vending machine once, and it has a coveted spot on my desk.

Disney definitely has issues with releasing it's cartoons to DVD. Just look at how long it took for Gummi Bears to come out-nearly TWENTY years! Kim Possible might still be airing on one of Disney's stations somewhere. That's honestly the only reason I can see for them not releasing the entire series. Now I'm curious if anyone posted them to YouTube. It's been forever since I watched the series!

I think it's a really bad marketing idea on their parts. Because I'm sure people would buy the Dvds. They really don't handle their tv series well. At all. And you would think that they would!

Sucks not to have cable. aybe Netflix has them?

I think even the creator of Gargoyles ( I always forget his name even if he's the responsible for all my favorite animated series) have work on Kim Impossible 83 , man that guy really really have a tough history with Disney 8/

Oh geez! I can't wait till this comes out! I love how Astrid's holding up the fish. LOL. Another 2/3 years for the sequel though. :(

Seconding Gargoyles getting the rest of the series released.

Also, I don't think I've seen Aladdin the series on DVD either.

Hey, as long as it's a quality sequel, I shall wait!

Gosh, I'm starting to wonder if disney burned the tapes when they were done with that show! We want Aladdin!

Oh, is it only on the one with the Blue Ray? Because I can't buy that one. ;A; I watched the trailer, though, and after yelling SPOILER ALERT when they showed Hiccup's leg, I was sad because I wanted to watch it all, haha.

OH MAN YES. I really wish Disney would do things like, you know, release everything. Gargoyles really hurts me, to this day. I want to own it all, darn it!

Kim Possible is great<333 I hope you enjoy it!

"Kim Possible" might be on Toon Disney these days. Of course, I think you can only get Toon Disney through the "500+ channels" version of Comcast and AT&T or pay for it extra if you have any other cable/satellite provider. I know for sure Toon Disney shows all the series from the 90's and early 2000's like "Aladdin". So...fire up the VCR/DVR!

Yay! more HTTYD fanart! Hark, what is this I hear? Extra mini flick with the DVD release? Sweet! =D I'm excited to see it!

And Megamind! I'm really looking forward to that one as well! :P

Disney... they are kind of asses about their TV series aren't they? I'd love to get the old school Disney block stuff I gre up with like Rescue Rangers, Duck Tales, Darkwing Duck, and Tailspin! Man those shows were too awesome! :)

I think disney just doesn't see the importance of the market. But really, if only for kids, kids watch stuff Over and over again. Dvd box sets would be awesome for them! I really don't get why the completely botch this.

Oh, I'm sure at some point they will realize they can make money off of them... or they are keeping them locked down for a later date release so they can do the whole 'out of the vault release' crap they like to pull :/
