 Hey, guys, it's "Mad Hatter" day today! (Because we are the 10/6th. Like is says on his hat? Getit getit getit?). This was kinda started as a joke by bri_chan  and torreadora  (since bri_chan makes AMAZING comics using the Disney park "Hatter" character). I chose this as kindoff an excuse to draw my brand new Namesake characters.



Warrick, the Wicked Warlock, likes having a big hat. Hopefully he didn't steal it from the Hatter. I'm sad you guys won't get to meet Warrick until the second chapter of the story. He's my favorite character because he's way too much fun to draw.

So everyone, go sit around a table, drink some tea and spout nonsensical riddles. It's the day for it.

I know bri_chan through the Disney Princess comm! I think she's so busy with Real Life these days that she doesn't have much time for the Alice/Hatter comics and journaling. I haven't seen any Alice/Hatter stuff for a long time, and I miss it so.

Anyway, there's this manga called Boy Alice about a Japanese boy named Arisu (basically "Alice", but I think using a different writing system from Alice's name) who ends up in Wonderland and meets the real Alice who's basically a...well, in the Whoniverse, she'd be a Time Lord. Arisu also meets the Prince of Hearts (?) who believes Arisu is actually a girl and falls in love with him. For whatever reason, Alice and the White Rabbit (a human with bunny ears) decide to live with Arisu and his parents when Alice transports Arisu back to his house. There's all kinds of plot about the Prince meeting Arisu in our world and Arisu traveling back to Wonderland at random, and eventually Arisu gets into a dress and pretends to go along with the Prince's infatuation. Then the manga gets REALLY weird: Arisu starts taking on female traits when he's in Wonderland, until even Arisu himself believes he's a girl. By the sixth or seventh chapter, the manga neglects anything to do with the real Alice and the other Wonderland characters from the books, and Arisu is even calling himself a girl in the real world, so the plot revolves around mushy romance between the Prince and girl!Arisu. It ends up a non-sexual yaoi manga where the submissive character is a boy who's convinced he's a girl even though he still looks fairly boyish, so I got frustrated and stopped reading after the eighth chapter.
