Mythology jokes will never die. Hilarious forever!

This one plays with the myth of Leda, who got to do it with Zeus in Swan-format, and also a little stab at poor Cassandra.

News wise. Well, I seem to be not sick anymore! But Link is. Tomorrow, i'm doing a late shift (noon to 8h30). Wednesday I plan to hang out with [livejournal.com profile] starmetal_oak ! :D I'm having a bit of trouble juggling seeing people. I want to have a nice social life, but drawing is so time consuming!

In Namesake news, the Launch date is fully set. October 5th is the day. Unless I break my arm or something horrifying happens. A few beta readers helped me and [livejournal.com profile] dqbunny  build a strong story and website... I really hope you guys like it! I'm excited and mortified at the same time!

A few of you might remember me talking about being dissatisfied at work. mostly because tech support felt a bit like a dead end for me. I tried looking around a bit and failed some interviews. I ended up talking to my boss and engaging plan "B". Plan "B" being, instead of leaving a job, discuss it and see if it's possible to move on up. Well, I got my annual evaluation today. People at my job like me. I earned some extra money as a bonus, which is nice, and also managed to get more responsibilities, mostly with marketing rather then tech support. So, good news for me. I can rest easy and not worry so much about jobstuff for now. I'm willing to give these new responsibilities the old college try. In part because this job has a lot of nice things (I like the people and the flexibility) and also because I despise looking for work and starting new jobs. Hey, stress away from work is stress I can invest in my art life instead. Wee.

In any case. Time for bed. :D

Isa doing good.

Zeus: Justifying men betraying their significant other since forever!

Seriously though, Zeus was all kinds of messed up. Of course I have to wonder about ancient Greeks who would want to have sex copulate with a swan. A swan! (Clash of the Titans even showed him approaching his victim as an eagle. What. The. Heck.)

Eat broccoli. Always eat that broccoli. (And see, there you go again sucking away your time. What am I going to do with you?)

Zeus wasn't that bad. Back in the day, he was part of daily rituals and all. Nowadays, all we have left of the culture is the mathematics and crazy mythology so of course we think he's weird.

Basically imagine that Christianity was a dead religion. And that only the stranger tales from the bible survived. It's about the same.

It was a terrible joke. Greek gods are still my favorite of the so called "dead" religions. Besides, Zeus was far better than Diana. She...was seriously twisted.

Yikes, the Greeks had some messed-up fantasies - and this is supposed to be the king of their deities... O_o Awesome comic. XD

I glad the job situation is working out! It sounds like your bosses are at least a little supportive, which can make all the difference in the world!

Haha, I love how wacky Greek Mythology can be. I like your Leda better though. =D

Two weeks, eh? I'm looking forward to it! ^^

Greek mythology is so messed up. The Leda story seriously grossed me out when I heard it in school. Who the hell would want to screw a swan!? >_<
And it's just hilarious that the King of the Greek Gods is nothing more than a huge man-whore who would be right at home on the Jerry Springer set! No wonder that religion didn't stand the test of time!

And yay for a Namesake release date *marks calender*

This is amazing. You should really continue with this. The humour reminds me of Kate Beaton!

Good luck on both Namesake and the job front. If you lived here I would hire you ;.;.

I was thinking of Kate Beaton while I drew this. Maybe I should try turning into the Kate Beaton of Mythology? (also, did you see that Beaton-Avatar parody?)

And I would totally work with you.

Oh those Ancient Greeks, they had some messed up ideas, especially in the many ways Zeus tried to use to seduce women. (Did you ever see how Cassandra was portrayed in the Hercules cartoon series? She was honestly my favorite character in that show. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JUvxZND4Evw )

I didn't get to see the cartoon, but I did see her in that "sequel" (which I think was just episodes strung together. She was hilarious.

From: [identity profile] earthstar-moon.livejournal.com
Yeah it was. The episode itself (with Hercules going through his highschool year book) was really just a clip show. I really wish they would put this series on DVD because it was honestly one of the better movie turned into series cartoons.

And Cassandra is awesome. She had the best lines in the show. XD

Ahaha, that's awesome. Greek myth had some fun stuff--other ways I think I remember Zeus seducing women were as a bull and a shower of gold coins. Pfff.

It's great that you were able to get some bonuses! As long as that works out, then it definitely beats having to look for another job.

Love your fractured myth adventures! Yeah, we can blame kinky sex on the ancient Greeks. And vases were their porn sites and some even had early comics!

Good to hear Plan B was successful. Good luck with the added responsibilities!
