Well, it's official, I'm back working at the bakery. My boss seems to be happy i'm back since i'm the only full time employee that can open and close. i'm thinking he's pretty pleased that I don't require training. So, I settled back in the routine of working at Aux Delices.
It was very dead these first two days of work, but my feet are still killing me. I lost the habit of running around and staying on my feet for 6 hours on end.
I also noticed that during off season (when we don't have the tourist armada roaming the Ottawa By market), the customers are so much more polite. Everybody I serve is all please and thank you as when the tourists are among us, I get orders barked at me and people who seem to get off on torturing employees.I don't get it. Are people naturally rude on vacation? They figure, i'm off and/or not from around here so I can behave like a five year old with foul langage? *sigh* Looking foward to those tourists yeah...
I AM looking foward to the japanese festival though. The japanese community of ottawa celebrates it, so a bunch of japanese people walk around in gorgeous kimonos all day at the market! I swear my camera lives for that day. Last year I felt like a background actor in Geisha. I was sad I was working the full day that day...I didn't get to see kimonos aside from when I peeked outside the window.
Oh, funny story has well. Some people might recall me telling then of a certain asian/canadian couple that did a weird thing in my store last summer. They basicly where newly weds I think...So the love bubbles where all over the bakery. Between every order, they looked at each other and wispered "I love you" as they kissed (Arck, to much fluff! Need air filtrer!) and then when they finally finished (10 minutes later...keep in mind a large amount of waiting hungry people was expanding) I punched the amount in the cash and lifted my head to demand money when I discovered...THESE PEOPLE ARE MAKING OUT ON MY COUNTER!
Seriously, they were.
And not just a little!
They angry mob of waiting hungry people pressured me to stop them, so I did (after a good while. They were very focused). Then the couple paid and left. Afterwards, a client complained about public affection. Another replied that love was a beautiful thing. Then a lady kicked in the conversation, and before you know it, the hungry angry people were having a long debate.
I think I never laughed so much in my life.
Well, today during my morning shift, I saw the couple again. They came in with their baby to buy cake.
Fast workers huh?
Wellllll...tonight I was rather tired from work so I took a long nap and then was too zombified to do much, So I decided to try out making icons. Here are the results...
I really like the "I can speak whale" one. I,ve made some from Howl's moving castle, Strangers in Paradise, Slayers, Nemo, Grimm and random doodle

Date: 2006-04-26 02:31 pm (UTC)The couple still seemed very lovey-dovey. But then again, some people live in candy land until years later in the relantionship. Too much lovey-doveyness makes me hurl. Urgh. I just think it's great that lovey-dovey people are happy and all, but can they restraint and become normal human beings when they speak to the rest of us? Speaking to a giggly almost fused couple annoys me. Two heads might be better then one, but not when the two heads are up in the clouds!

Date: 2006-04-27 02:04 am (UTC)I think it's cute when you can tell two people like each other, but when they are all over each other and have no respect for those in public, I get annoyed. I hope and pray that when I have a boyfriend (because it will happen one day!) that I do not do stuff like that...

Date: 2006-04-27 01:09 pm (UTC)I think there's a line between cute affection and bedroom affection (or living room affection) that should not be crossed in public. Cute doesn't bother me. However, when someone's so deep in the others mouth that you can't tell where one stops and the other begins and they are almost humping against a post...I'm a little bothered about that. First off because it's, as you say, extremly disrespectful and also because I feel doing something so outwards in public probably means something. I mean, it's basicly just showing off. "Look at what i'm doing!" Would someone really in love show off their partner that way? Well, that's just me, then again, i'm kinda shy and don't like the idea of showing off like that.

Date: 2006-04-26 03:07 pm (UTC)The Japanese festival sounds cool. I wish my hometown had something like that to go to.
(looks at icons) I like the beware of falling wizards one. Very cute!

Date: 2006-04-27 01:14 pm (UTC)I don't know why some people insist so much on almost doing it in public. Well, as I said before, it's probably either people that wanna show off or that aren't shy and have trouble containing themselves. Althought cute affection is okay.
The Hindi festival is another cool one. Love the costumes. The Gay parade is also a lot of fun. What I don't like is that I work on all those days and there's always a street or two blocked by it at some point, causing my bus route to change (?&$&%$#%#).
Thanks. "Beware of Falling wizard" is something I said when I watched Howl jump off the balcony after he dropped off sophie. I mean, he did look falling fast and a potential hazard for the people downstairs XD
