So I finally saw Toy Story 3. It was pretty good. I'm not gonna mention anything spoilerific here, but let's just say, I love all three movies. And I'm totally one of those kids that used to think my toys were alive (hahaha, used to?). Buzz and Jessie are part of my favorite Pixar couples. Pixar, why are you so good at making various weird things/people fall deep in love? I mean really?

Aside from that, today was a holiday in Québec. It's Baptist Day, a summer solstice celebration actively protected by canadian francophones. It's a french holiday popular in France that became a symbol and celebration of the french canadian culture after the french sold Québec to the English. I'm not very patriotic, so I just drew today, but it's cool to see people celebrate.

Yesterday there was an earthquake in Montréal and Ottawa. It shook more in Ottawa. My brother, mother and friends were evacuated from the shaking university of Ottawa buildings. It was a 5.6 earthquake, but no one was injured. 

A friend of mine, the amusing Moggy from vonandmoggy  is about the undergo surgery. Here is a little drawing for her and her comic artist boyfriend. You have my support you guys!

Stu and I are seeing Toy Story 3 tomorrow, I can't wait. (You're not alone, I still feel guilty for throwing out a toy. We should start a club or something XP.)

It's weird that I feel guilty about throwing away toys. It's not even a question of attachement (i'm not that attached to megatron). It's the anthromorphique-ness. And the fact that they have names or something. As soon as something as an identity I feel compelled to respect it. Gah, i'm weird.

No wonder you logged on this morning! I was wondering...and yes, ninja mode since I was getting ready for work. I would have poked you otherwise. Speaking of ninja...

STEALTH!

Anyway, if the giant plush is adorable, there's no way he can get rid of it! If anything, he ought to take a page from Andy's book and find it a new home. Dang Toy Story 3 for making me feel better about hoarding my special toys long after childhood. One of these days they'll be played with by kids again. My Power Puff Girls alone have been claimed by my nieces...and I have to laugh that my nephew is really taken with them as well. Too funny!

I'm glad the earthquake was on the weaker side. Enough to shake people up, but not enough to cause serious damage. I'll never complain about getting to end the work/school day early for an earthquake though! One of my most awe-inspiring/unsettling experiences in Seattle was during the Nisqually quake (see, 'squally'!). All of downtown Seattle was deathly silent afterward, something it NEVER is. Anyway, before I get lost in babble, again I'm glad it wasn't worse.

I hope the surgery goes well for your friend. :(

Ninja mode. XD Can't tell you I have a day off while you're in ninja mode. Why are you in ninja mode so often XD

And yes, I still own and love Stealth. He's so cool.

Maybe we can bring him to the donation center instead of just tossing him. Link actually found him while someone else was throwing him out. He's not that cute or cuddly either. It's a cheap carnaval plush. It just seems somewhat sad and wasteful to toss out a plus in perfectly good shape.

I stay in ninja mode when I don't want to be caught online, I've been here and there for the past..heck, since coming home I've just been doing a lot of things. I guess I just don't want to be stuck online for longer than I want to, so I lurk and pounce when I see people on. And I literally saw you online mere minutes before I had to leave, so I had enough time to wonder why you were on, then I had to get off my computer so I could leave the house. (If you see any comments from me during the day, you can thank my iPod and the bakery now having wi-fi. I can easily check e-mail and LJ during my breaks.)

Donation is far better than having it take up space in a landfill. At least, if it's still in good condition and doesn't look like it's been roughed up by living out on the streets or something.... ^_^;

A spy icon was must! I've actually had an icon of Amelia spying on Lina and Gourry since forever ago (courtesy of a comic by Rui Araizumi), but I was finally able to update it thanks to the awesomeness that is Evolution-R. I'm gonna be watching Toy Story asap (I need to drag someone to watch it with me in English! I bet the Spanish dub will kill the Spanish Buzz joke, also, sexy Tom Hanks voice!) and those are cute sketches! Lucky everyone's safe from the earthquake, too!

You know, I would actually be curious to see what they do with the spanish Buzz in the dub. Are they going to pick another langage despite the clearly spanish mannerisms? Or use a specific spanish accent? Like they did for Puss in Shrek?

But I get why you want to see it in english. It's always more fun to see something in it's original langage. The quality is often better. :D I would go with you if I could!

Uuuuusually what they do, since this is the Latin American dub, they keep the Spain-Spanish accent. But if the joke is that nobody understands Buzz (spoilers!)... I've heard other dubs where they use Italian. Or French. It's so weird. o_O I have no idea what they do for the Spain dub tho, since they're very against non dubbed movies as far as I know, and they translate everything (for example, there's a magazine called "Interview", but they write it phonetically as "Interviú")

Yeah, i'm fine, my side of Montréal barely shook. The bigger part of it was happening in Ottawa. It gave my mother a good scare but everyone is okay and there's pretty much no damage.

Ah! =D I just went and saw Toy Story 3 today for my birthday! *squee!* Made of win! XD *whispers* I so acted like my toys were alive too! :P (those sketches are too fun! LOL! The barbie one especially! You saw what she had Ken tied to right? *evil grin* Yeah, I should be ashamed! LOL! ;) And Yes! Spanish mode! XD So damn good! Pixar, you rock socks! =D)
