The fact that red shoes are crazy popular did not prevent me from buying new red shoes that are made of awesome. I finally have converses! Yes, i'm a big soccer for the fashion bandwagon sometimes but still. Red shoes are awesome.

In unrelated news, the trailer for the new SCOTT PILGRIM movie(s)? is out. Scott Pilgrim is a special little comic a lot of people love about a guy who's life turns into a weird surrealistic video game when he starts dating a girl called Ramona who's got 7 evil ex-boyfriends and seems to turn evil herself if she doesn't dump the guy she is dating after a certain amount of time. The comics are pretty fun and the movie seems like fun too. The movie seems to come out at the same time as the last comic of the series. Talk about timed marketing.

One part of the franchise ends, and the open opens. It's the circle ooooffff liiiii-iiiife.

I liket he girl they picked for Ramona. I hate the kid they picked for Scott. I know that guy is really popular in a bunch of indy movies since Juno, but I just don't like him. I would have preferred Zack Effron or that actor that plays "Mutt" in the last indiana jones sequel in the role and I don't like either of them either (they were both considered for the role)! Oh well. At least the special effects are somewhat reminiscent of the old batman TV series, which fits perfectly with the story.

The style here in California is still plain flats and flip-flops all the way. Most people don't bother deviating from standard black (at least that's what my teenage sister and her friends are doing).


I've been meaning to check out those Scott Pilgrim books. All my friends keep raving about them. And that trailer looks cool.

However, I agree with you about Juno-Boy. I honestly don't understand why he's so popular (it can't just be the Juno wave because that movie is long forgotten now). He plays the same awkward, stuttering dork character in EVERY movie he's in! And it's not charming or cute it's just...irritating. I'm not sure if he's a bad actor or just a victim of typecasting.

The thing with the character of scott is that he is an awkward nerdy character. But he believes in himself pretty hard. So I don't find the actor fits too well.

It probably wouldn't be as annoying if you could watch that actor without seeing the 20 similar nerdy characters he's played in movies since he hit it big in Juno. I probably wouldn't have a problem with him being cast in this movie if he just wasn't all over the place right now. :P

I hate that they used Cera for Scott too! The thing is, sure Scott is nerdy but its sort of like you dont know it by looking at him, you have to wait till he opens his mouth! Micheal Cera juts looks nerdy from the start and I never pictured that.

Are you talking about a pair of chucks? (The red canvas shoes.) Personally I'd kill for a pair of the Storm Troopers shoes that Adidas came out with... But I can't justify paying 70 bucks for them... I'd always be happy with the Darth Vaders.

FYI Michael Cera's been playing the same character ever since Arrested Developement, not Juno and I totally have to agree about the character being miscast; Scott's a somewhat oblivious, energetic troubleseeker while Cera's characters are always just shy and awkward. We may yet hope that he'll do it differently for this role.
