If I published a book of illustrations and sketches, do you guys think it would be interesting?

In the same vein, would a book version of all the Secondlina's Panel jokes be interesting?

Just wondering and stuff.

I know I'd be interested, but I can't speak for anyone else.

Considering you save everything on your computer XD

Not everything - but if it's something you drew specifically for me or I really happen to like it, then yes, I have saved some of your drawings. I even still have the very first Halloween panel you ever did with Meg and I me (man, I hate English sometimes!) supplying the goodies for the party. I loved it that much! O:)

MI figure it would be handy to have one for cons and stuff.

I'd love to have your sketches in book form.

And I bet you could make a killing if you set up a booth in the "artist alley" section of a con and sold books/took commissions there.

I plan on doing that someday. I just think i'm not into the hit mangas enough...

Oh yeah. I didn't think about that. I dunno about Canadian cons, but American cons are chock full of teenagers who aren't aware that any anime existed before 2005.

Darned kids and their dopey action shows named after cleaning products. Our generation had good anime! **shakes cane**

Both have a certain appeal... and represent a crapload of work.

Okay.

The thing with illustrations and sketches is that you would also have to provide explanations, especially when it comes to the joke ones, or else the general readers won't get it and probably won't be interested.

But that's the only concern I have. I totally think it would rock, and it would be neat to include some written notes so that we can be privy to your drawing process.

Notes would definitly be important. But I think most artbooks come with notes (Japanese ones do anyways... though you can never read them unless you know japanese. It kills me! especially when they explain their inking process!)

I know I would be and I'm sure others would be too once they saw your work. :3 I say go for it -- the more exposure, the better, right?

As much as yes, I'd be interested-- I'm not sure an illustration book would sell that well. Depends on the subject matter within and where you sell it. Those are hard for even famous artists to get good sells one.

A collection of Secondlina's panels though, I think would have a pretty wide appeal. I think that would work well.

I see what you mean about the first one. I think sketch books would sell more if you get it into a shop that caters animators and people who like to see work sketches. The jokes appeal more to an audience.

There's always the question of copyrights though.

Copyrights probably won't be a big issue if you just make small references to copyrighted characters here and there and don't try to publish full blown doujinshi. The Penny Arcade comics have been published by a major comic company; and every other page goofs on copyrighted game and/or cartoon characters.

As long as its parody its protected under "fair use". But, I'm just basing this on what I know about American copyright law. Canada may have different rules.

Yes and yes. I know I'd be interested. I love your sketches and comics. They're what first drew me to friend you and I haven't regretted it once!
