Yes. THERE'S a pick-up line he's never gonna use AGAIN. What was he trying to do anyways? Best pick up lines of the 80's sitcom?

I love messing with people.

Hola, friends of the web! Did you all miss me? I'm glad to announce that Rose is OVER. All drawn and given to my awesome editor for him to create the book! EEEE! HAHAHAHA I AM FREE! I asked, and apparently when the book will be out (August 29, 2009), you will be able to purchase it from the publisher's website, so I will be sure to forward you the link. There is also a book launch party in Montreal. The book Launch is for all the books coming out under this editor's TRIP Label. The launch is in Montreal, Saturday August 29th
15 h to 19 h
At Le Cheval Blanc, 809 Ontario Est, Montréal (514 522 0211 - Click here for informative webpage) I'm excited you guys! FIRST BOOK OF THE ISA. You can join the launch party if you are in Montreal! Bring your friends! It's going to be fun and i'll draw something in the book for you that is extra special!

In other good news, they want me to draw them more comics. So I have two other projects that I will get rolling soon. Here is a little list about what I plan to do comic wise:

-Revamp portfolio site/LJ for the pretties.
-Take care of the distribution list for Rose
-Jabberwocky short comic (for the TRIP Label)
- Psychopomp, a comic similar to what Rose is going to be, again for the TRIP Label
-Finish Doujinshi for[profile] ichiban_victory
-Draw Slayers steampunk style fanfic/comic Slayers Gears!
-Finish the Oz comics
-Princess Tutu Doujinshi
-Various comics for the journal
-A few paintings
-Fanarts (of Zel/Emile? And Charlie/Carmen? And Avatar? You betcha!)
-And, if I can, I have been thinking of maybe doing a comic with the Secondworld characters following the original plot of the RPG... Of course I would need permission is this project is still far on my list but it would be cool.

Whew. I need to make some comic-drawing schedules. I'm gonna be a busy girl, but no joke I love this. I love being able to draw and be published and getting feedback on the stuff I post online from you guys. You all rock.

......I really need to clean my appartment. I've been neglecting it because I was spending all my time on Rose. I could have done some yesterday and today, but I feel pretty drained...Both mentally and physically. So I think chore day will be tomorrow! Tomorrow, tomorrow! The cleaning fairy shall pass!

Over and Out!

Or not quite, have this picture of Rose...because I am so happy!

-Isa

*ps - I also JUST noticed last week the number of people that friended me went up to 70. What? When? Aw, you guys. :D

CONGRATULATIONS! looks like you have a bright future as an artist ahead of you! <3

i love the pick-up line comic XDDD
is it unfortuante that my brother has a (smarter and) more round-about way of getting his dates?

looks like we'll be seeing some pretty art soon~
i really adore the lineart of that ROSE pic
very neat and the delivery is quite intense ^o^

God, I hope your brother has better lines. I enjy the boys and their silly lines, but that is only because I get to play with their brains like that. MWAHAHAHA.

That's great they want more comics from you! Just be sure to regain the creative energies Rose drained from you before starting on anything new, hard as it may be. ^_-

And heck, Victoria is no more mine than she is yours since you're the one that created the world and the circumstances for her. I can't speak for anyone else, but you're more than welcome to whatever characters I made for Secondworld.

From: [identity profile] secondlina.livejournal.com
The energy is gradually returning. I'm not really up to drawing again, but I am cleaning my appartment, working on the Editor's distribution list, etc. Basically doing all that other stuff.

The comic about the secondworld has been going in my mind for a while. Something MUST be done with these characters. I miss the dynamic mockery between Pallura and Victoria. So many jokes, so little pages XD

Date: 2009-07-07 04:24 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] ichiban-victory.livejournal.com
Yeah, the Victoria/Pallura dynamic was interesting...the proverbial thorn in Victoria's side that she can't do without. ^_-; I just miss the game, period, but comic goodness is a way to keep things going in a sense.

(Speaking on game, still interested in the dragon thing? I thought I was just going to get a jump start on helping a couple of people get their characters started, but it turned into a mass character generating session with everyone but you..and now I'm being asked when I'm going to start. Help! I'm not going anywhere until I know for sure what you want to do - plus I'm working the entire week, so I won't be slapping any plot together just yet.)

Hey, if Meg is playing, I can't really use my lack of knowledge/time as an excuse to avoid playing right? But seriously, i'd like to participate. It would be a good replacement to the weekly slayers geekout.

I was thinking of going with a male Puck like character (so..chaotic good?) I didn't have time to read over the dragon thing...I should do that. Unless they have fire dragons in there. Then if so, tha`t's what I want to be. No questions!

From: [identity profile] ichiban-victory.livejournal.com
Dude, they even got Mike dragged into it! He was the first to have his character down to a description even! o_O

I still think you'd have the most fun playing a Pseudo dragon (not to mention it fits in well with my fiendish plans!) since you'd be able to get away with things no one else could. They're described as being a lot like cats in how they act (aloof, etc.) but they're not above playing tricks on people - especially people who annoy them. They also typically have no breath weapon but instead have a poison sting on their tail, but I've already been wanting to change that. You could have a little fire cracker if you wanted. ^_-

In any case, you can go with a regular 'true' dragon if you want. The only real tricksters of the true dragons are Copper dragons, but Joanne staked a claim on that one last night.

...I would kinda prefer a character that can talk.

*snaps finguers* Damn you, Johanne!

Oh well, maybe I can recylce as the awesome cool stoic warrior. I would like that too. What type of dragon does that?

Congratulations Isa

Your first full book getting published!!! I'm so happy for you.

I told you you could do it. Great job. I can't wait to see it.
How happy are you with the results?

I'm sure it's sick drawings. You also always had a strong storytelling talent. Not to mention all that awesome symbolism you love to add in all of those insanely intricate and compelling drawings of yours.

And it's just your first of many books that you'll draw and think up. I can't wait to see what else you'll cook up next.

Keep up the great work

Your biggest fan.

I don`t find myself really pretty either. But I noticed a strong tendancy towards men actually talking to me when I wear skirts. What? Are my jeans scary? Do they have 'Big Honking witty feminist' written on them? Yes, probably XD

Hummmmm.... I don't know what the website selling system is. Though, I am trying to get the book in shops in Toronto (The Labyrinth and Perhaps the Begilling on Bloor), so you can go pick it up there. Otherwise, you can just have me buy it and send it to you and send a rehinboursement my way.

From: [identity profile] yukinoomoni.livejournal.com
That's so bizarre. When I wear skirts, I get mocked more. o.O;

I think the second method is best. I worry that if I plan to make a trip downtown, I won't make it in time to actually buy the boo, which makes me sad.

Question: is it in French? Cuz I can (sorta) read it, so it won't be (much of) a problem.

The book is bilingual. There is no dialogue, the only words actually used in the book are words that translate in both languages. And all the information on the front and back cover is in both languages. TRIP is a label that works in both languages, but they usually translate. I wanted to make a few books that work in both langugages. It's a little goal a gave myself to make things interesting.

From: [identity profile] yukinoomoni.livejournal.com
That's AWESOME. It allows for far more publication than just an English title, and it's truly Canadian because it's in both official languages!

That comic reminds me of a time a guy asked me if I was a Christian. I was tempted to replying saying "No, actually I'm a Buddhist," to see how he would react.

Anyway, congrats! You must be excited to have your first comic published. And that's great that they want you to draw more comics for them.

As for using Cara, feel free to use her as much as you like.
(Next time we're online we should talk more about the Princess Tutu idea. ^_~ )

Thinking back to Toronto, I can see you doing that. Easily.

Part of me thinks a sword would help back that up even more, the other part of me is wondering how on earth the first part thought giving you a sword would be a good plan. *grin*

Congratulations of finishing Rose! *hugs*
Be sure to let us know when we can get it online. :)

And dumb pick up lines are really amusing. The best one I ever got was when I was at work (hostessing at a restaurant) and getting drinks for this obnoxious group of teenage and early twentysomething boys. One guy laid this gem on me:

"You look really innocent. Are you a Mormon or something?"

I responded by "accidentally" spilling his drink on him. XD

LOL!!!! I bet that guy will think twice next time...

Finished? Go Isa! Go Isa!

I hope there is some way I can procure a copy! I'd love to own one.

And I for one would love to see Tutu doujinshi from you!

Yay, Isa! Congratulations on finishing and having Rose published!
But it's no surprise, given your talent.

(You want bizarre pick-up attempts? Many, many years ago a guy tried a pick-up line on me as I was pushing my then 14 month old daughter in her stroller down the street! Eh, maybe he did it in case I had "baby blues" and wanted to make me feel good about myself? Nah, he had "loser" written all over him.)
