Good news! Rose is advancing quite at a stable pace. I have 31 pages done (31 pages on 55)  I calculated that if I drew two pages per week day (monday to tuesday) and 6 on every weekend day (Friday-staurday-sunday since I took friday off) I could have the remaining pages drawn by the end of this week. Boo-yah! I don't know if I can do it, but I'm definitly going to try...a lot. Then I can move on to illustrations and other random stuff.

Aside from that, i'm doing well. Link was around during the week and I ended up catching up on my sleep quite a bit. I also got my other book in. I did several illustration for a book, though I didn't write the text, this is the first official (aka with an ISBN) publication with my drawings in it. Rose will be the second (text and illustrations, even better).

I'm not doing to bad for a person just out of school. Several exhibits, contracts and books in only one year. I am, as they say, ON FIRE.

I can't wait for Rose to be finished so I can see the resulting book. I also can't wait to pick up other fandom and serious comic projects. I'm more motivated then ever. Drawing is so amazing :D And plotbunnies are attacking me!

On an unrelated note, you may notice the banner is gone. It's due to a technical difficulty. It should be fixed soon, though I might just remove the banner all together. I've been meaning to change it anyways... This might incite me to work on that.

On a second unrelated note, I am thinking of opening another blog. Either on LJ as well, or Dreamwidth or Blogger (some people suggested I could also do it on deviant art, but I don't like Deviant art that much...) This other blog would be created for me to show off my comic art in a more professional manner. Because even though I have my portfolio website and a Deviant art account, I don't update those often since I don't want to put unfinished things on them. I want something with more frequent updates and sketches... And I know I have it here, but I'm starting to find it creepy to give this URL to people...because yes, it's my comic work, but it's also my life and friends blog.... And some people I just really don't want reading this stuff, though I don't mind them seeing my art. Plus, it sucks to give to an editor an URL that does lead to art, but also to talk of geekery, shoes and sharpie poisoning....Unless they are into that XD.

Over and out!

It's true, for a freelance artist, you are doing really well. And so you should, I say! You have the talent fo rit. it's good you're getting your dues.

I think I want a copy of that book... Just from reading what I can in the picture, it sounds like something I would enjoy. Must trek to B.C...

Blogger seems to be the norm for professional blogs. I had to make one for a class even, and while I had intentions of closing it afterward, I decided I ought to keep it open. Aside from being 'the norm', it's also really easy to do things like post up videos you make. You could have an actual art slide show, for example. ^_-

Anyway, there's my two cents. I'll keep this short so you can get back to work. Keep fueling that fire! Don't let yourself burn out!

I'm set thanks. Someone gave me a code a while ago... I just am still hesitating about maybe blogger being better. DW seems fine, but it's hard for non users to find stuff on it.

Blogger does seem to be the norm for pro artist, probably because it's linked to google, most people's search engine. I would like to have a DW account, but I get the feeling it would just be the same as LJ. Maybe I could get one to mirror the LJ posts and have a blogger one for art stuff. The Panel's heart will always remain this space though. this is where it all started!

It's so much work though, whew! Although, you already know about the incredible crazy amount of work... Thanks for your encouragement (and the encouragements of mini-rorschak, also always welcome.)

You are doing great. You got a lot more publish and in a shorter amount of time than a lot of people I know. I'm so happy for you!

Another blog for more professional stuff is probably not a bad idea. I wish I could offer advice on which route site to take, but I don't have much knowledge in that apartment.

You could get your own website and use Wordpress?

Yay to progress! And like seeing your work area. I think little peeks into a person's space is a little peek into their lives and it makes me feel like I know them a little better. Yes, I'm SUCH the voyeur!

I have a Dreamwidth account and could snag an invite if you want to set up an account there. Let me know if you're interested.

Are any of these books available (or going to be available) outside of Canada? I'd like to buy a copy...

Awww, I like your lil stubby thumbs! They be cute! ^_^

That's what I use my DW account for mostly: a back-up. They have an option where you can have all your LJ entries uploaded onto DW for that express purpose actually.

Congratulations! *clap*
As an artist, getting job offers after graduating is impressive!
Good luck to finishing Rose! ^^

Keep that fire burning! >8D

Congratulations! Its so exciting to get stuff published! And that book about multiculturalism in Canada actually looks really interesting (is it a textbook or a novel by a private author?).

Its so cool that you're getting a lot of freelance art jobs. With the economy the way it is (are things bad in Canada, too?) its better to be overworked than to deal with the anxiety of looking for all over for a job and not being able to get hired.
That said, I hope you manage to get some well-deserved downtime between the end of Rose and the start of another big project. Because my wrists hurt from just looking at your workload!!

The economy is awful here too. I'm not really getting paid much for these jobs. I have a *day* job that keeps me living (I am the artistic equivalent of Batman). But the important part is to get published right? (for now, anyways)

Oh, it's kinda like a textbook, but it is written in the style of a play. Very cool.

You voyeur you!

The books are not currently available out of Canada (or much out of the ontario/quebec axis of evil) but I am willing to serve as a distributor for the americans on my F-list. :) You can send the money thru me and i'll send you the book (signed and everything). I don't know what the price is for Rose yet, but when the time comes I will make a post about it.

Hahahahah *is embarrassed of her tiny thumbs*
