...why?? Spanish and now French, but no English?!? Still, that's awesome for you! Aqualord is my favorite of the Slayers manga (excluding the L/G manga since it's not an epic) despite my not being able to read much Japanese. The art is amazing (makes the Revolution manga that much more of an eyesore!) and we got to see actual relationship development between Lina and Gourry...

And gosh, that's still awesome for you! Hopefully an official English translation isn't too many decades away...

Okay, slayers in english got DESTROYED. Me and my brother tried buying some of the series and turns out, it's really hard and disorganized.

And it IS cool we are getting knight of auqalord, but we had no other series availalble in french. This is the first.

The Lina/Gourry manga by Rui Araizumi was just fine as far as translations go, but the rest... For the rest they tried a little too hard localizing it to English, and even then not to a broad English-speaking audience. It ought to tell you something that I have the German manga for the 'main' storyline and I like it a great deal more than the English since it was more true to the original Japanese. The Premium adaptation was just painful.

I still think Aqualord is the best of the manga series. The series by Shoko Yoshinaka was just a retreading of the anime and novels it is based on, with slight variation. I prefer the anime and the novels covering the same plot by far. The Slayers Special manga by Tommy Otsuka has great art, but it's like the OAVs and movies where we get episodes of the exploits of Lina and Naga. Nothing really deep to it. The L/G manga by Rui Araizumi has great art, but unless you're a diehard L/G fan you probably wouldn't have much interest in it. Aqualord is an original series you'll not find anywhere else, has original characters that are actually likable, and the artwork (again by Tommy Otsuka) is amazing. It's kind of weird for a while as his style transitions from a more toonish style to more stylized, but by the end I had no qualms with it.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! Now if only an English publisher will be SMART and pick it up, the rest of us will be happy too!

Yeah, but don't hold your breath; from what I can tell, publishers we did slayers did a crap-ass job editing the series and then dropping it.

In french it sucks a little because we will only Have auqalord. No other series got translated. So for the rest of the story, i'M stuck in the english with you guys.

But hey, don't feel bad; I can buy the book and translated it from french to english REALLY easily. I mean, I translate stuff all the time. So you could get the aqualord storyline rather quickly, since i'm very fluent in both french and english.

Lucky! Although I can read French (but don't ask me to speak or write anymore), I greatly doubt I could find them in the States.
Out of curiousity, though, who is the publisher?

It's a small french publisher. I don't recall whom right now. Though, in north america, you have to go thru the big publishers and distributers (or amazon.fr) to get it. And sometimes it's not obvious (ex-library goon speaking)
