The national Gallery of Canada (location; Ottawa) had a good idea... Initiate these small conferences where you can meet and artist. This week's artist was a contemporary artist I admire... Shary Boyle. Her website doesn't have all of her works, but I can garantee you that she is amazing and that her work with fairy tales, colour and lines has really influenced my own during this last year... I was really shy upon talking to her but I did, a little, a very little. Thanks to "Minimal" shoving by my buddy M-C. I even managed to give her a business card. I can't remember if it had my blog address or my portfolio website address on it. I really hope it's the portfolio... *laughs*

I noticed that my drawing really evolved this last year. Like, immensly. It changed so much, and now, i'm actually using more and more colour. Lately i've been in a very "comic drawing" mood, most likely due to all my illustration contracts. I'm also trying to get into that mood so I can allow my painting techniques and my drawing techniques to kinda cross over to one and another and form a specific style.

Oh, in a comic related note, I managed to put my name down to be a part of the Comic Book Shoppe Gala. It's kindoff a one-night thing at a local comic shop where comic artists feature their work. A few of my friends actually recommended that I didn't do it. It seems the comic book shoppe is not very liked or something. Huh. I personnally have no bad feeling towards the shop tself, and it sounds like fun. So yeah.

All the work presented kinda has to be related to comics, or inspired by them, so i'm working on a few paintings of popular characters. Up to now, superman has surfaced. I wanted to play with what the character represents. Lina Inverse has also been in the process of turning into a painting. I wanted to paint a version of the gigaslave. However, I hesitate between two versions of it. Those of you who know Slayers know about the terrifying vision shown in one of the episodes of the gigaslave, Lina's most powerful spell, going array. I hesitate between painting a screwed up version of the gigaslave of a shimmering and positive image of it. Two sketches came from my hesitation...

Aside from drawing, i'm also packing boxes, working long hours and framing paintings. Start my new (real) job as a communications agent on wednesday. Ipee.
