Next week; the exams start. Lots of work to do for management exams and also exhibit preparation. A lot of people in my classes are really tired and stressed out. I really feel for them. I'm generally okay, except that i'm sick ONCE AGAIN (yay) and that I can't seem to realise what I have (all I know is that there is a lot of back pain, headache and general fatigue linked to it).

But I think everything should turn out allright. I picked up my card captor sakura mangas and started re-reading them on the bus. It's such a cute and hopeful series. It sucks that Tsubasa really didn't work out very well, I really wanted to have a follow-up to Sakura, and Tsubasa has some good parts, but it's mostly really gimmicky. Clamp really outdone themselves when it came to fan pleasing with Tsubasa. The fanservice is enormous. The concept of Tsubasa is good though, but the way the developped it wasn't great, not to mention you have had to read all of Clamps works to get the story, and some of their works are still not available here...

I've got only one drawing left. My "homework" for the next few days is to finish that drawing, fix mistakes in other drawings, document all my drawings, build the frames, prep my exhibit room (buy materials, map it out, etc), draw the school floor plans so people know who is in what room, distribute some flyers for the exhibit, write 2 essays on general subjects, write another essay about my own work, finish reading my marketing book and taking notes, finish my comission works, go to my exams and go to my doctor's appointement. WHEW.

I think i'll start the essays tonight. My back and head are still killing me, so I think i'll bring my laptop to bed and settle confortably.

I worked on some commissions this week on my "free" time. Here's a comic cover sketch i'm doing for someone and some sushi people (yes, sushi people) I drew to illustrate some girly article about food. I really like the sushi people (notice how the girls are sushi and the boys condiments!) so I'll make a wallpaper out of it soon! The comic cover needs a ton more work though. For instance, i'm debating, the characters should be on a horse or not?

The comic book cover is really nice...make sure to post a finished version, if you don't mind? I love seeing pencils next to a finished piece. I can't picture a horse incorporated into the shot, though? It looks like there's enough going on without adding it in...my two cents.

And the sushi kids are ADORABLE! Oh my gawd! :D

The "sushi kids" are just so original and adorable! I particularly love how you used the rice for clothing and hair.

As far as the cover, I agree that the main two should not be on a horse. That would give unwanted distance to the intensity, which as it is here without the horse closer to the viewer's face. I think the intensity should stay close to get people to open the comic.

Huh, good point about the horse. I'll keep that in mind!

My favorite is the california roll.

Cute sushi people! They're darling, and looked like fun to draw. XD

I LOVE CCS, always more than Tsubasa. It was such a cute series and the characters were just fantastic. I try to keep up with Tsubasa *sigh* but sometimes it seems to go on and on. I'm up to volume 10 I believe...

XXXholic is cool, I think anyway.

Yeah, i'm on 10 too.. Tsubasa just...lacks something. For one thing, I find Tsubasa!Sakura really wussy. Tsubasa!Shaolan is awesome though. To me, the basis of the plot (Sakura losing her memories and then Shaolan wanting them back and sacrificing his love for her to do so) was good, but I have no idea why they had to get out of the clow card world to do that. For one thing, the time witch knows Clow... This story could have very well happened in our world. They could have travelled accross various countries of our world and met various magic places and people (after all, if clow cards exist...what else could?) without having that messy multi-dimension crap with multi-version people. And it would have been cool because then, it would have been a true follow-up to card captor, which is according to me, along with magic Knight, one of their best stories.

Sorry to hear you're sick again. That really sucks.

And best of luck with your project! I hope it goes well for you and you can have a good start to your summer.

And the sushi drawings are adorable. Reminds me of the Saturday morning cartoon Sushi Pack. It's really cute!
