The joy of coworkers.
You know you're really under the weather when you don't post anything for 12 days. So, here's a resume of what happened in BULLET FORM! The powah of bullets!
- Turns out estrogen is an invisible killer, like ninjas, evil mimes and carbon dioxide. After staying off my meds for a few days I was back to normal
- I obsessed for a week over an incident that happened with a friend of mine who confessed he liked me "that way" It resolved itself pretty quickly though. My friend was pretty bold, but I told him it was never happening, so he dropped it.
- I saw Link on Easter weekend and got Chocolate fondue at my friend Fauve's house. Humm, Fondue.
- The catalogue for the graduate exhibit is almost done. There is only a bit of tweaking left, so it should get sent to the printers on monday. Building the catalogue ate my week, from tuesday to friday morning. All the commitee worked really hard, especially other Isabelle that spent a whole 24 hours awake on it. I almost did myself, but managed to still get 4 hours of sleep. Yay, sleep.
- Almost all my drawings are done. I need to go get more paper though, because I don't have any left to work on.
- I just bought a whole bunch of comics. *dances*
- I wish I could play FF crisis core, but I don't have a psp. Damn, Zach is awesome!
In the catalogue, I put one of my works intitled Lost girls in the forest. It's a different version of the piece presented here. I re-did almost all my drawings 2 to 3 times, but i'm atisfied with most of them now (there's always details that bug me, but you know...Can't be perfect.) So, here is the final version of the drawing: since all my drawings didn't really have backgrounds but this one, I had to figure out how to make a drawing without drawing an actual forest. The characters of lost girls are turning into the forest. They are becoming embedded in their tale and in the place where they are lost. Hidden by the trees on the second layer you'll find a sign post indicating the way. Above the trees in the branches you have lovers lost in the woods, inspired by hansel and gretel type characters...
I had an idea for a cool essay: "No place like Home; the representation of House and Home in fairy tales and fairy tale inspired art" Maybe i'll write it just for kicks. Could try to get it published. I miss not having essays to write. I love doing essay research. But this year I have no more art theory classes, only management class and they don't ask for essay. They ask for projects where you write barely anything creative.

*whips out the beating stick*
Date: 2008-03-29 11:26 pm (UTC)...and yes, I used the 'b' word. It's a dog breeding term that was corrupted by stupid people. So sue me. XP We don't have such a negative connotation on 'stud' (male horse used for breeding), and why no one calls a girl a 'queen' (female cat used for breeding) I have no idea. Anyway, going off on a tangent.
You can write my essays if you want! I hate writing essays, I find them so...formal. I much like having the freedom to write what and how I will, without being slave to specific styles. *beats the APA Style with a stick*
Can school be over now?
Re: *whips out the beating stick*
Date: 2008-03-29 11:51 pm (UTC)And bitch is okay apparently. They use it in Harry potter. XD
Re: *whips out the beating stick*
Date: 2008-03-30 12:05 am (UTC)I still don't like calling human females dogs, so even if Harry Potter says it's okay, my decency meter says, "NO WAY". But that's just me (and yes, I am in a bit of a silly mood as usual. I think the homework is making me crack.)

That being said, my mom thinks your art is wonderful, thought I'd pass that on. And she cracked up cause I showed her the entry due to the first comic. Something about my family living with me lately...

Date: 2008-03-30 02:45 am (UTC)This is why I am looking so forward to doing A&S projects for the SCA. I have my first one picked out too - making a set of burnishing tools for gilding. I even found instructions here. I'm so looking forward to doing the documentation and writing everything up. Making the tools won't be so hard either since I know people with the right sorts of cutting tools, etc. The thing I miss about school the most is writing papers. I read about Diane's archaeology project and drooled.
I am so glad the guy left you alone. I was really worried about that. I'm also really, really, really glad that your hormones are back to normal too. :)

Not that WE'LL be able to go see it together, just putting my two cents in.

Date: 2008-03-30 11:55 pm (UTC)I dressed up as Indie one Halloween. It seemed more fun then a sexy witch, a sexy bunny, a sexy princess, etc. Plus, I got a whip!!!! Oh yeah!

Date: 2008-03-30 02:16 pm (UTC)It's actually pretty fun and it brings back a ton of nostalgia from when I first played FF7. If you ever get the opportunity, you should play it.

Date: 2008-03-30 03:36 pm (UTC)I can't play it because I can't afford a PSP but i'm forcing my psp-owning friend to show me every. Single. Video. And she is happy to oblige, because zach is teh s3x.

That was very brave of your friend to get the courage to tell you he liked you. Something like that isn't very easy. Good thing you let him down easy though...
Chocolate fondue!! We have a "Melting Pot" restaurant here and mom and I used a gift certificate a few weeks ago. Yum! She got Ying and Yang (white chocolate and dark chocolate) and I got a S'More. Delish!
Yay comics! I don't buy too many Western comics anymore (although there are a few exceptions).
And the drawing looks AWESOME! I like the detail you put in the tree. Kinda reminds me of those old woodblock prints from the 18th or 19th century.

Date: 2008-03-30 11:54 pm (UTC)Nygah. It feels weird that he had the "courage" to tell me. Heck, I was surprised he liked me at all. He barely knows me, and i'm not that likeable with people I just met. In person, i'm very geeky and blunt, especially in english, which is not my first language and comes out all clumsy. I tried to let him down easy at first, and then he started following me around, so I had to be more nasty about it. I'm thinking the "nice message" wasn't clear enough.
That melting pot thing sounds awesome.

Date: 2008-03-31 01:41 am (UTC)I really have no idea why this happened. Honestly. I'm not super hot or super nice or anything, so I really wonder why he suddently decided he liked me. It's too mind boggling for me.
And I know where you're coming from. I still want to help with this stuff so much! I kinda feel like jumping on the advertizment commitee. I guess this proves art admin is our domain then, right? :) Besides, you're amazing at this stuff!!!!!

Date: 2008-03-31 02:41 am (UTC)I've had to let people down before too. I think I did it nicely, but it stll can be a bit of a blow...
IT is awesome. Very. They have regular meals and cheese fondue, but I like the chocolate ones the best.
