Flue, space and rabbits
Mar. 11th, 2008 10:13 pmMy flue has taken a turn for the worse and i'm now pretty darn sick. But work waits for no woman, so i'm trying to manage.
I guess this is what happens when you don't sleep huh?
Well, this week, I'm going to bed early. I unfortunatly had to skip two classes because of illness. Next week will be better.
I finally saw Miss Potter! what a great movie!

I especially love the intro scene where we see her mix her colors and such! I do aquarelles as well, so that reminded me of my own work. As a funny story, I was actually mixing aquarelles when the film started, so me and Beatrix mixed aquarelles together.
The film is kinda predictable (but then again, it's even more if you know the writter's biographie) but it's very very cute and moving and the animations are lovely and too few!
Tomorrow, i'm braving the sickness and the stupid weather to go buy aquarelles and mylar paper for my drawings. I really, really, really need new aquarelles. I work with aquarelle blocks, not paints, so they use up pretty fast. I've got ink coming out of my wazoo though. I need some pens though.
Oh, the exposition space commitee divided the space for the exhibit. I know where my work will hang. I need to go take photos tomorrow so I can plan how to hang my stuff. I'll show the space to you guys, it's a bit narrow, but pretty.
I got my wood to build my frames and carved it all. Looks great! so happy.

In any case, time for sick girl to get to bed. So I finish off with a meme, stolen from DQ bunny.
Everyone has things they blog about. Everyone has things they don't blog about. Challenge me out of my comfort zone by telling me something I don't blog about, but you'd like to hear about, and I'll write a post about it. Ask for anything: latest movie watched, last book read, political leanings, thoughts on yaoi, favorite type of underwear, graphic techniques, etc.

Headaches make me go insane...and poetic.
Date: 2008-03-12 02:35 am (UTC)Sleep, sleep, and sleep some more, else that flu will have you done for. XP (A little rhyme from me to thee.)
I also pine for some pine or some other plank of wood, so that I too could do some carving. I haven't done it for ages, but it was always fun..and a bit on the dangerous side. ...maybe that was just me. ^_^;
I will forego asking you anything about what you don't post on here, because I'd rather not talk about private things in a public setting. You get off easy from me.

Date: 2008-03-12 02:40 am (UTC)I liked Miss Potter. I didn't know much about her besides the books she's written, so it wasn't as predictable for me. Although, I couldn't help but relate to drawing/writer wise as she kept creating her characters. ^_^;
As for the meme:
If you could travel back into time (ex: medevial, Victorian era, stone age, et...c) for one day, where/when would you go?

Date: 2008-03-12 02:52 am (UTC)Hmm... My question is... Describe your ultimate studio. What would it be like? What type of windows would you have, what books would be in it, what sort of drawing table, etc. What would you have in there to inspire you?

Date: 2008-03-12 03:00 am (UTC)Also, it's your turn in Secondworld. Just thought I'd let you know.

Date: 2008-03-12 12:02 pm (UTC)Ah, no worries. I saw your post. I am currently brewing a post so awesome it will be the master of all posts!
...or not, i'm really tired... *laughs*

Date: 2008-03-12 12:09 pm (UTC)Ultimate studio....hummm....I'd like a really big window, but that I can easily close with drapes that let not light in for photos. I'd like to have projectors on the ceiling for photo work, a pristine white wall to use as a backdrop with black drapes I can roll over instead if i'd rather have a black backdrop. In my job in toronto, we had those two things inside our office, it was great!
I'd like a big desk to work and a tiny desk for a wireless mac. Pin boards of course too. A light table is a must, as well as an inclined comic illustrator table. (so basically, a table for paint, a table for photoshop and one for comics). I require the best of all scanners!
I'd want all my inks, aquarelles and pastels to follow me. I'd also like some acrylics so I can get better.
Storage space. Oh my god, i'd love to have an efficient storage space.
A bean bag chair, a couch, and a tv with a dvd player are other things i'd enjoy.
MICROWAVE! ....teapot.
And of course, all my comic books, all my art books, and about half of Ottawa U's art book collection.
And a lamining table.

Date: 2008-03-12 12:13 pm (UTC)I don't think I would travel in time much. Too hard to choose where too go, and i'd be terribly afraid of getting killed during that day or screwing up the space continum. Plus, I kinda like our day and age, where we can live freely without oppression at least here in Canada. Especilly us women.
However, if I could go back in time a bunch of one-hours, I'd most likely go to a bunch of gallery openings from known dead artists. XD
