Ranma in the snow

It's officially all white here. Winter is here ^^

Lately i've been in the mood of reading all over again my Ranma 1/2 series. It's been quite a while since I picked them up (mainly because I put them on the top shelf of my furniture and can't grab them without a chair to boost me up). It's not really a series of fantastic originality (it's always the same jokes) but it's still so much fun to read! However, I realise today certain things such as : Akane's extremely short temper (next to Akane's boob fits, Lina's seem controlled, and Lina dragon slaves people!) and other despicable qualities in a lot of characters. It makes them very human though. Ranma is arrogant, Akane is pissy, Ryoga is a perv, Shampoo is isane, Ukyo is rought, Happosai is the devil and Nabiki is obsessed with money. Mousse is the character closest to being "good" (And he's the living version of the saying "Love is blind"). I still enjoy seeing Ranma get himself in and out of trouble. How can you collect so many fiancés? The drawings are very dynamic too, I love them. Ranma-chan was made to be the cutest thing ever ^^

On another note, soon the exams shall come. This week I felt I was getting a break, but turns out, I was wrong. I though I din't have any homework, but then I turned a rock, and there is was. *sigh* Time to go type an essay.

Oh man, Ranma! I haven't touched that series in so long! I always wanted to read the manga (I only read the first couple books, if that), but they were so darn expensive and I had no job back then. Never mind the way too expensive anime series which seemed to just go on forever... I did enjoy it, but I don't know if I'd want to own it at this point. I get tired of relationship dramas really fast. -_- (I really hate it when multiple girls fight over one guy. It's used so much in anime/manga now it's cliché!)

Oh, you're better off not buying Ranma. It's not really a good series. It's really repetitive and long (and in my case, badly translated since I got the crappy 1994 french version...eeech)but I recommend you find somebody that owns it and burrow it off him to be able to read it at least once...It's the kind of series that rock for the first 10 books and then goes down, but it's also one of the major manga series out there, so it's one of those must read at least once deals...I unfortunatly fell victim to several long series buying sprees. I've been trying to limit it lately with series like Chrono crusade and Kamikaze kaito jeanne, that are both short, well drawn and interesting.
