I went to finally see stardust, the movie based on the novel by Neil Gaiman & Charles Vess, with my friends Fauve and[profile] isabiunleashed . It was really cool since I haven't seen Isabelle in a while. Fauve was stuck with an Isabelle Duo. Mwahahaha.

Before going to the movie, me and Fauve got some eel on rice that was delicious with miso soup. We then met up with other Isa to go get a pile of candy at sugar mountain. My bag of candy was the most expensive one. Darn jellybeans are the heaviest candies ever! But no matter, money well spent, despite the fact that i'm nearly broke... *laughs* hummmmmm sugar.

Stardust itself was beautiful. I recommend it to everyone, especially to Meg and Diane, because Diane loves the princess bride, and this movie is similar to it. Meg, you need to go because this movie is the type to put a smile on your face, and I know you need one of those right now. Beautiful fantasy, I love claire danes as Yvaine. She's got moxy. I love the scenes where her hair suddently shines. She's so pretty!

The movie adaptation was very good. They made the movie rather similar to princess bride in my opinion. It's impossible fantasy that seems very normal, death is treated almost with humor, and true love, of course. Totally princess bride atmosphere.

The movie was slightly more chick-flicky then the book. A few things got "movified" such as the ending, much more action packed and spectacular. But it's the medium that wants it, right? It was still pretty darn good.

I got a few pictures from my aunt of my little cousin's baptism... The reason I went to quebec city last week. The photos all look great. My mother wants to get a few of them printed. ^^

There was four baptism at the same time, so the church had a good deal of people in it. Yet, it was still 2/3 empty. Go figure.

Two of my cousins had a baby. My Cousin Lydie-Ann had a baby boy and my cousin Jonathan (Lydie's brother) had a little girl. It was the boy's baptism.

The little girl, snoozing.

Aaaaaaand, awake!

My favorite aunt, Charlotte, Holding the baby boy.

My cousin and his daughter (and pregnant lady in the back. Weird.)

A pretty cool picture of me, Link, my little brother (the other orange-haired fellow) and my little cousin Metira.

I was talking to Fauve the other day and we though there was a little of babies born this yeah. "It's almost an epidemic!" Fauve told me. Apparenlty all the woman minus her and her boss are pregnant at work. Maybe there's another mini-boom coming on?

Motherhood really is a job itself.

Have you ever seen the storyboard bonous on "The Incredibles" DVD? They show the scene (In story boards) of the original script before the plot got changed a it.

In it Robert and Helen, go to a block party. Then when Helen is asked by a woman what she does for a living, Helen answers "I'm a home maker." The woman rolls her eyes a bit and then later, Helen over hears the same woman saying she could never stay home to handle diapers, annoying children, etc.. Helen gets really ticked and goes on a big rant on how important she thinks motherhood is and the woman is speechless.

It's an awesome scene, I kinda wished they kept it in the movie somehow.

Are you kidding, this is me we're talking about! I not only saw the edited scene, I listened to the commentary. Brad Bird based it on an experience his wife went through. She used to work as a film editor (same sort of deal I hope to get started in) but when they decided to have kids she decided she'd be the one to quit her job to be a stay-at-home mom. Since then people always assume she's never so much as had a job just because she's a stay-at-home mom. The scene Brad Bird wrote was a direct stab at those people.

I wish they'd been able to keep the scene in too, because it had a great point to it, but after they changed Violet's age it wouldn't have worked so well. I'm glad they let us see it at least.

The commentary is great. I love it when creators explain how they come up with their story ideas, characters and scenes. I thought it was very cool how it was his wife that gave him the idea. It just shows that anything in everyday life can good material for a creator. ^_~

That comment was hilarious, and so true...Kinda like people who assume those who work in coffee shops have no education or geeks are all fat perverts... Stupid stereotypes.

Elastic Girl (or rather mom) is my favorite character!!!!
