wow, it's been exactly 10 days since the last update...

Okay, I suck. I can't wait for summer where I can update more often. Schoolwork just takes most of my time lately and I feel bad for my friends, my comics and my journal. And for me of course. God knows I love to spend days doing nothing else but reading a book. Soon my pretties, soon. For the school year ends on the 20th of april! MWAHAHA!

Other then that, I'm an awful driver. I mean, i'm quite terrible. People fear me on the road. I need to get better though because I want to pass the test that will allow me to have my permit. I figured I was most likely bad at driving because I don't like it. It's a necessary skill though, especially in north america where everything is miles apart. Maybe my lack of efficient driving is genetic?



I wish it was genetic, then i'd have an excuse. But naw...I just need to keep trying. ^_^

I didn't draw a lot of comic lately but I have taken a sinful amount of photograph and have loosely sketched a lot of stuff. I even took a shot at redesigning Lina's suit to give her a more casual wear wardrobe, but I think she would look much better in a suit. I've been drawing work creatures and several other creatures too. I'm currently obsessd about cool or cute creature things. You really should see my class notes. Covered in cuteness.



As for photo, I have a pretty good idea what i'm gonna do for the class...I'm putting in parallel old art and new art and the work of artists. So I took a lot of pictures of classmates and random friends while they were working on their artwork. I also took a portrait of myself. But the portrait of me if very different. It's not a work portrait. I tried to make it look like I was an Allegory of photo. An allegory is a genre from rennaissance where art, or muses, were represented. Later on, a few artists did self portraits with Allegories. The women artist Arthemisia Gentillesci did a portrait of herself AS an allegory of painting. There is no "Allegory of photo" because Allegories stopped being a genre way before cameras were invented so I kinda made up some of the symbolism in the picture based on old Allegories and artist self-portraits. I,m rather rpoud of the result! I even got to print it on CANVAS! The photo really looks like a painting. I love it. Check it out:



It took me and my friend a few hours to shoot it and it took me a few hours to edit it to perfection in photoshop. I'm extra-ultra-proud of my work. Yay for photo. ^_^

I used to think I'd never be able to drive (just as I never thought I had what it takes to work...ha!) because I was terrified being in a metal machine of death, but they are pretty much a requirement nowadays...plus my dad made sure I got plenty of experience. It's rough at first, but once you gain some confidence on the road it gets easier. Take it from the girl who nearly killed herself on the road, lived, then had to get back in that car and keep driving. ^_-

The photo came out amazing! I like to mess around with photos in Photoshop as well, but nothing ever comes out like that! I like how it almost looks like it could be a painting, but still is obviously a photo. That, and the outfit...wow. Where do you find this stuff?

(I look at the outfit Lina's wearing and just imagine she'd hate it the moment she had to move into action. "Gah! Restrictive!")

The outfit is composed of several things I picked up across the years. The dress is made from a prom dress I got for 2$ at a garage sale and a blouse my friend owned. The bracelets..one is also from a garage sale and the other is a gift from france my parents gave me. The necklace is from my old prom. The shoes are brand new, I love them and I though they worked well in the project so I used them. The camera is mine, it used to be my father's. The stash I picked up in toronto. ^^ I,m good at finding cool clothes!

1. It wasn't entirely a joke since at the time I was searching for good A/Z doujinshi like mad, but I wasn't having much luck. For some odd reason people don't want to part with their doujinshi! (I did finally find what I was looking for, but I still love having something original in a language I can easily read!)
2. Aww...actually, The Monkees originally sang that song, and it is a favorite of mine. ("Meant for someone else, but not for me! Love was out to get me, that's the way it seemed. Disappointment haunted all my dreams!" ...anyway.) :D
3. I still let you have some fun, don't I? ^_^; It amazes me how just standing near people compels them to behave in my presence. Am I really so frightening?
4. I bet I still have that chat saved. I don't look at them very often, but I like to save them so later I can look back. And yeah, that was pretty cool. I don't often meet religious people online (which is probably a good thing, really. I don't want to be condemned to "that hot place" just for being what I am), but I sure meet a lot of people who respect me for what I am, which makes it even easier to have respect for others in turn. :)
5. Vic's all mine, so I can do what I please with her without people screaming "OOC!!" at me. Unless Victoria decides to go into a berserker rage and destroy the world or something..

6. I don't believe that our lives are planned out entirely before we come here, but yes, I do believe some things were meant to happen. Heck, if you'd have asked me when I was younger if I'd have as many friends in diverse places, I'd have thought you insane! If nothing else, I was definitely meant to meet the people I have, and even to have some of the jobs I had (as they all ended up preparing me for university) so...yes, I do believe in destiny.

7. I love your art. It's so clean and easy to work with! And yes, I'd love to make you an icon! I could even colorize it if I go completely insane. Would you want anything special done with it?
