"Animal nerds" from Gary Larson's far said. I love that comic! So much non-sense humor and irony combined! Hum...I notice how hard it is to write posts when you put drawings, since I always feel like a drawing is worth a thousand words (not to mention, all i'm pretty much doing right now is homework, so it's not really the most interesting life stories ever...) This week, i'm gonna do a major gang of  nude modeling, that promises to be interesting. Oh, yeah, does anyone know of the existence of a pin making machine? I saw one once, but it was for professionnal use...

Human emotion, here I come!

Human emotion has always been my strong point, it's always emphasized in european comics, which were my role models in drawing way before manga was. I only got into manga in my late teens (15-16) and funny thing is, I used to be part of the group of people that though manga was only sex and violence. Ironyyyyy...XD

Hey, I used to think anime was all magical girl shows or stupid guy shows. (My great examples being Sailor Moon -which I got into later- and Dragon Ball - I still don't understand it.) Live and learn, eh? ^_-;;

What sort of European comics did you read? The only thing I can think of (that I actually saw here) was Tin Tin.

Tintin is a horrible example of european comic culture. It really is. Not to mention it's fairly old. But I can't really blame you for reading it, I know the translating market from french's not too hot in usa right now (it took them a while to do manga) but, in the things I like there's two sci-fi/fantasy comics called the Incal by Moebius and Wake by Morvan and Buchet which are both translated and awfully good. I also read Sky doll by Barbucci and Canepa which as the most awesome drawings in the universe, monster allergy by the same people, Elixir by Noir, Bidouille and Violet by Hislaire and belladone by Ange...Aria, Lanfeust, past of peter pan, witch, fire gate...the list is endless! All of these have a different style and story it's really quite fun to look at...i'll try to scan some drawings and post them here on my next post, for all to see ^^
