Lights of the sky

 Yesterday evening was pretty cool. There's a firework every Wednesday and Saturday night here in Montreal for the next 2 weeks or so.  It's an international contest. Yesterday was the USA and their theme was, you guessed it, the Wizard of Oz. You had to tune in to a radio to hear the music that went with the show (mostly, tunes from the MGM musical movie). It was really cute! Lots of big explosions. I was really impressed by the swirly-shaped and heart-shaped fireworks for the Scarecrow and Tin Man. And of course, the Emerald City segment was all green and gold.I look forward to the other shows! 

Today is pretty busy too. I had some people to meet in the morning and i'm hanging out with folks tonight too. Whew! Running around in the big, big heat.

Here's a finished print! The theme is obviously Tim Burton. I basically took couples/duos and tried to associate them all to a season. Jack and Sally got the fall because even though Nightmare before christmas is kinda a Christmas movie, these guys are residents of Halloween town. Edward Scissorhands gets the winter spot, for having poetic snow drops. Alice and the cheshire cat get to frolic in spring because of all the beautiful green in the Alice movie. Finally, Lydia and Beetlejuice get summer, because Beetlejuice always felt like a summer movie to me. Everything looks warm and it kinda starts with people dying on their vacation.

Ah, a skull for every season! I think you did a good job choosing the season to go with the couple, and I agree about Beatlejuice. I can't think of anything that wouldn't make it a "summer" movie, but now I really want to watch it again. (Or the cartoon. Or both. Give me both!)

Silly question: Jack doesn't get a nose?

The cartoon always had that summery feel to me because it was fun and crazy. Crazy fun = summer vacations? Also, the movie decor always looked so desertic and warm.... Didn't fit winter, that's for sure.
