I love this drawing. It's going to be the "inner cover" for Jabberwocky. Double-page spread time! Woo! I kinda want a plushy of those magical snakes. Hahaha. Maybe i'll make one!

I think this is the last "big job" I gotta do for Jabberwocky. Whew. For the next week, I'm going to try to focus on Namesake pages and get a buffer built up again. During the whole month of March, pages were pretty much done right before being posted. I find that a little stressful. So it's time to try to accumulate a security blanket again.

I talked to my parents, who wanted to give me a big gift for a my birthday. They are going to help me find and purchase a sewing machine. So soon, i'll be able to sew and create little crafts. I'm really looking forward to that.

I need to make a to-do list now that Jabberwocky is done. I have so many little things to take care of. Link was amazed by how little stress I had when I was doing Jabberwocky. But honestly, large amounts of work don't stress me if it's all that I do. What stresses me is having a bunch of little things to do, and being stuck remembering everything and running around for them. I'm rather awful at that. But things need to be done. Starting with my taxes.

Strangely motivated by curiosity, I decided to buy makeup last week, mainly eyeliner. I kinda like the look of eyeliner. I never put any on in my life, but it's a pencil, and i'm an artist. So I can totally do this right? Right? This shit should be easy.

....They have tutorials on youtube, right?

I should probably buy makeup remover because I try to test this out. The horrors it could create.

I'm also letting my hair grow. I guess I want to change my look a bit. I doubt i'll wear makeup regularly (I don't like the feel of makeup, and I don't need it, really), but it's nice to have the option you know? I think I might try to re-pierce my ears too. They used to be but the closed up after I got an infection.

Isa is headed on the girly train, or something.

That train has ponies on it.

How dare you buckle under societal demands for how women ought to be! (Eh, whatever...) Honestly, you could probably ask just about any woman that isn't me for makeup tips, especially if they have makeup ladies in the shops out there.

Make sure to check reviews for sewing machines. I didn't have that luxury, but my parents got me a very reliable brand (Kenmore) so I didn't have to even worry about it. Good luck steering clear of all those bells and whistles!

(And a snake plush would be incredibly easy to make. But hey, even better! Make snake bracelets!)

Hardly. I'm honestly too lazy to put makeup on every day (and my skin is so clean, the au natural look is just a lot better anyways). But i'm a little annoyed by the fact that I don't know how. So i'm going to try, acquire knowledge, and then probably only do it when I go to weddings or something.

That's the great irony of it all. Women wear makeup to cover blemishes, but not wearing makeup makes for beautiful skin. Oh what a tangled web we weave... I bet you can find all sorts of makeup help online though, if not through people who wear the stuff.

ooohhhhh.....

For Make up, although I know it's a bit expensive, get Body Shop because it's hypo-allergenic and supposedly socially concious. You can get away with cheap stuff for your eyeshadow and lipstick but get a really good foundation powder or liquid because that's stuff going straight on your skin. Also, get a decent cleanser you know for rinsing it off.

The point is : get a GOOD brand for your foundation and Cleanser (Body Shop or L'Occitane)

eyeshadow and lipstick: you can get a cheaper one

Woah. I don't really want to go that far. Just learning eyeliner and eyeshadow will make me satisfied *laughs*

Thought it's good to know that body shop has some fine things. Thanks for the tip.

Well, I don't usually go full force either. I use a thin layer of foundation and a little lipstick but for everyday work I don't bother. I use make up maybe once every 3 months...or when my family are invited to formal social functions.

(I don't think i'm ready for the full force makeup kit yet. The boyish side of my brain will die. But now it makes me feel sad you don't live around any more. You could have been my teacher... aaaah STEF WHY DID YOU GOOO COME BACK!)

Wow. Girly!Isa. That needs to sink in a bit.

And I totally suck at eyeliner. I have some, but since I so rarely wear makeup unless it's a special occasion (like the wedding I shall be attending next month), then I don't even bother.

I look forward to seeing what sort of crafty things you come up with!

And I am like you, I don't like it when I have a ton of little things that pile up and overwhelm me. If I have on big thing, than I can focus all of my attention on that and not be distracted by the zillion other things and I can be more productive that way.

Not THAT girly. I just want to learn to use make up for interviews and special evens. For the rest of the time. PFFFT. Normal isa.

The little piles of things are easier to trip on then a big one, methinks.

Yeah, I'm the same way. I just can't be bothered.

I agree.

Oh I loves that pic! So much eye boggle! XD Her expression is too cool as well! XD

As for a sewing machine, I didn't know you were into those kinds of crafts? Can't wait to see what you do =D

Make-up... I don't wear it normally, but I love cosplay and dressing up with it for special occasions like weddings etc :P I would suggest a liquid liner! They leave the smoothest lines and your artist's touch will shine through ;) Also, your choice in product does matter as some make-up is just crap! (as well as applicators) Macy's has excellent stock albeit a bit expensive, but it'll last you YEARS! 0o Good luck! Best post some pics for us when you do! ;)
