Move over, Kingdom Hearts. Here they are, the original "Heartless". The Carebear Villains.

Like most people, I grew up on this series. I was never a fan of the bear themselves though. I was a bigger fan of the villains. Of course, most of them were terrible villains. Kinda dumb and awful at winning. Those who didn't suck usually changed sides. The main villain, No Heart, was actually really scary at first. Then they introduced his niece Shreeky to the mix and he was suddenly as goofy as the rest. Oh well. They still look cool.
So who's who?
From top to bottom :

Why does he look like he has tiny evil arms on the side of his head? I don't know.
That's about it. I had fun going down memory lane like this! Carebears was a series I really liked as a kid. No so much anymore. But the villains and their 80's style really influenced me as a kid. This series is SO 80's. It's got every 80's trope in the book. Also, what's the deal with their female protagonists? In almost every movie, the chick was blue-eyed and blonde.
oh well. I'm going to go have me some cheese.

So who's who?
From top to bottom :
- Dr. Fright - Aka some vampire dude from a movie I never actually saw. I don't have much to say about him. Aside from "WOAH! Look at that floating stereotype!"
- Grizzle - Aka MECHA TEDDY BEAR. He's a new villain. Apparently an ex-carebear that likes to wear a mecha robot suit to cause trouble.
- No-Heart - The super awesome hodded dude, main villain of the tv series. He's an evil wizard who is pained by love and care, No Heart seeks to destroy all the feelings in the world. No Heart wears a magic amulet which gives him most of his power, including the power to shape-shift into animals.
- The Vizier - Aka potential Middle-Eastern offensive 80's stereotype guy. He's actually from the "Nutcracker Christmas" movie. My personal favorite. The rat king was also there, but he was more of a minion, so I didn't draw him. The Vizier turned the super awesome prince of Toyland into a nutcracker and needs him to crack a magic... nut of some kind. It's been a while since I saw the movie. But it's on youtube! I tracked it down to be able to draw this guy.
- The Wizard of Wonderland - Aka chesspiece guy in a movie that is not a Oz/Wonderland crossover, yet still involves wizards. I think they just liked having wizards as villains. Dubbed "face of the devil" by the Nostalgia critic because of a specific scary frame. This one:

Why does he look like he has tiny evil arms on the side of his head? I don't know.
- After Him we have Coldheart - Aka some Mr.Freeze type villain I really can't recall, but the only one who seems to have an action figure, according to the internet.
- The cook-looking guy is Sour Sam - Aka more of a jerk then a villain. But him and his evil pies are a mild inconvenience, so I threw him in there.
- Back at the bottom, the fuzzy brown dude. It's Beastly! Aka pathetic series minion number 1. He wasn't really that evil. He messed up most of the time and evil saved the carebears once or twice. He was also zapped full of feelings a few times. He would then chase his boss No-Heart and his colleague Shreeky all over the castle for hugs. Which was funny.
- Shreeky aka the only chick on this page. She's No Heart's niece who wants to follow in his footsteps, she has a magical mirror that she can use to make everything miserable, and if that's not enough, she has a screech that is FREAKING ANNOYING TO EVERYONE. Including her uncle.
- Next to her is Nicholas, aka magician apprentice from the first movie. He gets lured in and pretty much possessed by The Spirit aka that freaking creepy face in a book. That creepy book as haunted me for years. Poor kid isn't so much a villain but when he's possessed he does pretty much try to kill everything. So he counts.
- The final character is Dark Heart aka red jumpsuit hottie. I had a HUGE crush on him as a kid. Enormous. I'm kindoff ashamed to tell you guys. He was a character that really wanting to kill the carebears, and even managed to achieve it a few times. He goes into a Faust-style deal with a girl, making her super awesome in exchange for her innocence (her childlike innocence as a carebear lure. Not her lady-innocence. Thank you.) After trapping a bunch of characters in her chandelier of doom, he winds up hurting said chick and switches sides to save her life and be with her. No matter every little girl watching this had a crush on him. He was a sarcastic, charismatic lovestruck villain in a jumpsuit. We are weak and predictable.

Date: 2010-08-22 04:16 am (UTC)The pic is awesome, but oh, so morbid. X) I'm weird for saying this, but I love the "dead" stuffed bear bodies all strewn about. You're so good at setting up "group shots" that don't look over-posed or lifeless!

Thanks! I really love drawing groups... They take so long though!

Date: 2010-08-22 01:41 pm (UTC)I didn't know about Coldheart myself until I looked him up on the internet. Apparently, he was in the very first tv carebear special (this was before the tv series.) He's actually quite creepy. @_@
I think the nutcracker prince and the Alice in wonderland are my two favorite carebear movies. Too bad they don't make cartoon villains like they use to.

Date: 2010-08-22 03:57 pm (UTC)And Dark Heart was pretty cool, I wish they did a little more with his back story and why he was hunting down the little bears. But it was also a kids movie from the 80's so I can't ask for too much. ^_^*

Date: 2010-08-23 12:08 am (UTC)I remember watching A LOT of Hanna Barbera and Looney Toons, and anything from the Disney Channel that my great-aunt recorded onto VHS.
If I was at my parents, they pretty much let me watch anything.
