Now for something completely different
Jul. 5th, 2010 01:58 pmBoom baby.

Turns out, as soon as I decided that cheesy sepia effect was made of failure, I ended up coloring something pretty decent.
The coloring is simple, but do to the complexity of the lines, I think it turned out to be the best way to do it.
So lo, and behold, a much better Namesake panel.
I love how glowy it is. I love the general ambiance of the picture. It's basically Alice Coming from the super magical rabbit hole. And Mister Dodgson ("Lewis Carroll") with a pretty epic "WOAH DUDE" face.
Apparently we are entering a "heat" phase in Montréal. that means 40 degrees celcius minimum everyday for the next week to two weeks. Thank god I have a small air-conditioner in my studio. It is small, but mighty. I don't really like using AC more then necessary. It hasn't been on since the beginning of summer during the first heat phase. Considering my health is pretty weak and my apartment really warm, i'm still glad to be able to use it during heat phases.
I purchased an agenda in a strange effort to organize my personal time. I've been going thru my contracts and commissions and projects pretty willy-nilly. This should help. Also, this way I won't miss another con. It's got piranas and fish bones on the cover. I think it's cute.
You guys know what would be so cool? You know those people who collect butterflies and pin them in bix glasse boxes? I would love to have a big glass box like that, but instead of butterflies, it would be feathers. A bunch of colorful feathers with the names of the birds it goes to. and maybe a few wing bones. I would love that. That or an aquarium. I just love the colors in birds and fish. They make me so happy.

Date: 2010-07-05 07:54 pm (UTC)I hope the heat wave passes. It's suppose to be hot here too, thankfully we recently got an air conditioner.
(By the way, have you seen The Girl Who Leapt Through Time? I own the DVD and was wondering if you wanted me to bring it. Do you realize it's just a few weeks away? *grins*)

Date: 2010-07-06 02:15 am (UTC)I would take his feathers! Gladly! Maybe I can build the frame and collection myself. It would be very decorative. And Bird can be the first "donator" :D

Date: 2010-07-06 03:12 pm (UTC)I'll check around Bird's cage later to see if he's lost any tail feathers recently. Those are the most fun since they look like miniature pens from yesteryear. ^_-
