I love these characters. Buzz and Jessie are such cute Toy Story characters.  I love their animation. Buzz moves in such a precise manner. And Jessie is just... *dangle dangle dangle hyper*. Heh.

I get another long weekend this week due to Canada day. I don't really have anything specific to do though. I wonder when was the last time I went to Ottawa? Maybe I could do that. Or draw.

I've been feeling a little meh lately. I feel like I have almost no friends close by. Yeah, I know I have friends online, friends back in Ottawa and all that stuff. But I feel like I have barely anybody I can hang out with around here. Most of my local friends are very busy, or have conflicting schedules. Maybe it's because it's summer. Everyone I know seems so busy in the summer because i'm so idle (seriously, in the summer, I am a lazy slug). At least I get to hang out with Link, but I aways feel like i'm going to get on his nerves...

I wish I have a magical imaginary friend or something. Or a teleporting machine.

That's one thing I have to give Pixar credit for. When Jessie was first introduced in Toy Story 2, I was afraid she'd be a new love interest for Woody, thus competing with Bo Peep. I was so happy when she and Buzz hit it off instead! And I really loved their interaction in Toy Story 3, even when it meant Buzz would refuse to stick with Woody since he wouldn't leave Jessie. And the dump truck scene..so epic!

On another note, I knew someone who was "friends with Jessie" at school. Lets just say she had a real soft spot for the yodeling cowgirl. ^_-

I'd beam myself up there if I could. Summertime is pretty blah for me as well since I mostly work and then go stir crazy wishing I could take a road trip somewhere, but no one is ever free. I just wish my nieces and nephew came over more. They help, what with being absolutely adorable, not to mention fun to watch when they play with my and their toys.

Summer is just idle. Idle idle for everyone.

I never expected Jessie to be a Woody love interest. Right away their relationship was way too sibling-like. I was REALLY amused by Buzz liking her at the end of the second movie. Especially the sudden wingspan sproing. The third movie played on the relationship more. It went from geeky crush to full out lovin' (in all Buzz modes).

I'm watching The Last Airbender at 1pm in Kirkland on Thursday. You're free to come along :)

I have to admit I was somewhat sad to not have Bo Peep in TS3. Considering her relationship with Woody, it would have been nice to know what happened (and, of course, know that there was a possible future!). I half-hoped they would have "found" her either at the Daycare or with Bonnie...

With the kids XD? Are they avatar fans as well?

And these are part of the times I wish I had a car. I live close to the Polytechnique. :(

I was kinda expecting Bo to turn up in the end, they probably didn't do it because a "perfect" to that point happy ending would have been way to hard to believe. :( IT DOESN'T STOP THE FANS!

I'd offer to come get you, but a trip to Edward Montpetit is somewhat of a detour from NDIP! :)

I believe that Bo turns up at Sunnyside and then Barbie and Batman - uhm, I mean Ken :) let Woody know and they mount another rescue mission!!

And then... we go out looking for the Sheep!! Who have been stolen by Wile E. Coyote when the Sheepdog (charles?) wasn't looking! Ha ha! :)

Sorry, it's been a long day :)

No worries. XD Let me know if you like the movie!

Huh... that's not a bad scenario. A fan needs to write/draw this.

Gah! Bo Peep is porcelain! She'd never survive if a kid got a hold of her! o_O

I support this theory!

Maybe we should do a "Bo and Woody will be reunited" club/website. Sort of similar to how some HP fans have made a "Dumbledore is still alive" website. XD

*giggle* Spanish mode! XD This is too fun! And those two are really great! Awesome expressions and line of movement! I really feel the dance! =D

Sorry to hear you are feeling meh :/ I know that feeling for other reasons than busy/far away friends, but I do understand your state of being nonetheless. *hugs*

That feeling sucks, no matter the cause.

Where the hell did my joie de vivre go? I had more as a teenager.

I,m complaining a lot, but really, at least I don't have to go thru a situation as sucky. Getting sent away like that? It was cruel. I'm so sorry it happened to you :(

I,m just being whiny for nothing. In a few weeks, my work schedule will conflict with my social life and I 'll feel like I have too many friends. I,m just being a whiny-ass. I would be better if I took more time to write emails to far away friends and stuff. I guess I kinda hoped to have a bit more local friends so that maintaining a social life would be less thru thechnology (phonecalls, emails) and more outside in the summer scene of montréal. I love my online/ottawa friends, but I do feel odd for spending more time in my studio in front of a chat window then outside. Maybe the problem is just that I lack sun and need to learn to be better at going out by myself.

Just watched this movie last weekend, it was very cool. Sad to hear you don't have many friends close by... I suggest local networking. =)

I tried that. I met one guy who is a really good friend, and that's about it. Me thinks geeks and artists aren't that social XD

Hmmm... I suggest you visit some local geek hideouts, i.e. comic book store, art gallery, etc. Such places usually also have message boards containing events local nerd types are pulling together, like D&D games and the like. Hope this helps.

Awww, I love Buzz and Jessie, too. Their dance scene at the end (and the sweet remix of the theme song) was the perfect end to the movie.

Just curious, are there any special traditions for Canada Day? Or is it just a day to goof off?

I LOVE THAT REMIX SO MUCH.

...There's some stuff in Ottawa on parliament hill (Canadian white house with less security) and the museums are open and there's street performances and sellers, mostly it's a day to be outside, get really drunk and watch fireworks.

Québec doesn't really celebrate Canada day, they celebrate St-Baptist day (aka "québec day") which came along last week. Because Québec likes to remind the world it's different and pissed off about it. So it's probably gonna be dull here in Montréal, aside from the english parts of town.

These two were easily my favorite in the movie!!

The looks that they shared when they were about to fall into the incinerator almost made me cry though :'(

What really got me was that I was expecting Buzz to make his "determined" expression--you know, when things go wrong for the characters they go catatonic for a bit before finally mustering up their courage and saving the day. So I was looking for the expression, looking, looking...and it never came up. I think the shock on my face at that realization must have mirrored Jessies. GAAH, easily my favorite moment from the movie, depressing as it was.

That pretty much describes my reaction to the scene exactly.

I loved how Buzz's protective nature came out.
