Just a little fanart I did while I was lying around today. Today I was really tired and sickly. Bright new levels of Isa zombirism. Oh well.

It's Rue, a character from the anime "Princess Tutu". There's a segment in the show where she's swallowed by the villain, a giant crow. Now, this is where japanese people are strange. For some reason, when you reach certain levels of badness, there's weird things in your body. In this giant crow's body, there is apparently room for a barren wasteland covered in dying plants and dancing skeletons. I mean, obviously.

The prince eventually comes to save here, shedding a tunnel of light right before his entrance. It's a cool scene. I like it.

Yeah,t his resume makes her sound weak, but she's actually quite the strong character. I was talking to putri_nih today about how most of the strong women in cinema we can think of (REAL strong women. Those who are feminine as much as badass) are all animated. The worse cases of "save me i'm in trouble" girls are also animated. Talk about that.

Going back in a sickly ball now *curls up*

*faves and comments on DA*
^^ I like this a lot...Wish I could have seen the scene it's based off though. :< (Stupid OnDemand, yanking it away when it's 16 episodes in!)

And I quite liked Rue...

woah, that sucks.

The boxset of the complete series is on sale for pretty cheap lately, actually. I bought mine for 30$.

Rue~! I love how this picture looks like a marriage of Tim Burton and Princess Tutu. Come to think of it, a Tim Burton version of Princess Tutu would be pretty awesome (just think of all the crow people and how extra creepy Drosselmeyer would look!). XD

...You know, I never thought I'd agree with this, but DO WANT!
(Only downside is he'd age up the characters and have Johnny Depp playing either Fakir or Drosselmeyer...and get Helena for Rue.)

I would take Depp as Drosselmeyer. I WOULD!

I'm always sickly. I'm like one of those anime girls with weak health. Except I don't turn out to be a monster or a vampire.

Man every person I know is into Princess Tutu. Is it that good?

Yes and no. As far as magical girl shows goes, it<s very good. However, if you hate magical girl shows and/or fairytales you<ll despise it because it uses and subverts a bunch of magical girl anime and fairy tale tropes.

If you like magical girls, please do. It's an unknown gem of the genre.

Argh. Feel better soon.

Sometimes getting people to enter the DA contests is like pulling teeth. Other times we get a lot of entries. This one's only been up a couple of days, and we already have... 5 entries. ((0_0)) I don't think we've EVER gotten so many entries so fast. Judging is going to be interesting.

I think it depends on the subject. The "light" and "dark" aspects are already present in the story, so people are easily inspired.

I didn't do entries for a while... but I was uninspired to draw anything :( Bad drawing phase.
