FLORIDA IS :

YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Explanation in a convenient text format :
Me and Link got stuck in airports for an obscene amount of time. OBSCENE. Counting flight delays, customs and actual flights, it took us two planes and 16 hours to GET to Florida and 13 hours to get back home. When we got there, our luggage was lost. We got it later on the next day. God thing you don't need much clothing to be in warm weather.
Florida was quite warm, despite being cold for a while. It was still their coldest winter in 25 years. But you know what? 20 degrees celcius + cool breeze is not bad weather if you just got out of Québec. In fact, it's quite perfect.
In Florida, Link and I bunked with his parents who have a house there (they are "snowbirds" aka canadians who migrate to the warmth for the summer). As a result, we weren't in the very touristy part of the state. More in the snowbirds-who-like-it-quiet and actual residents part of Florida (as a result, lots of older people, young families and immigrants). So there weren't huge activities, but we relaxed like lizards in the sun, biked a lot (I love biking!), cooked good food, swam in a pool, used badass internet (refreshing from my crappy home-internet) and watched movies. We also got to see animals at an animal hospital and manatees in the actual wild (calling them does not work). Did you know alligators growl to talk to each other? and that the growling actually makes the water and earth resonate? It's freaky!
We mostly swam in a small pool. The sea was too cold. We saw the sea on the last day, but it was a really cold day, and the wind coming from the sea was wild. It wasn't a blue sea, it was a green sea. But the beach was littered with seashells and "gemsand" (crushed seashells that look like glittering sand).
Skittles are soothing to my soul.
Cinnamon pretzels actually taste like beavertails and are easier to eat (Convinient shape!). I wish they sold pretzels here.
And now i'm back. I kinda missed Montréal. Despite the cold factor, this is totally a town for geeks.
A special event called the "GeekFest" is taking place these weekend. I'm gonna be there. You're a geek in Montréal? Be there too! If you can find me, do it!
