Argh. You know how somedays everything reminds you of books you read, movies you saw, stories you created? Today was one of those. Yep, the two systems at my work ARE called that. yup, there was that angry looking asian chick with the poofy hat that really should be offered the role of Toph in the upcoming movie. And yup, Harry Potter scarves are SO IN. It's a little weird how fiction can be omnipresent in our mind. Even without referencing to characters, our society is so full of known and distinct imagery. Today, I ate in a chinese restaurant with a giant poster of Klimt's The Kiss, framed and gold painted. It looked cool. I was amused by how I can still recognize paintings from my art history class.

Long story short, today had a lot of footnotes and references XD

In other news, i'm going to do BOTH Expozine and the family thing. Basically i'm going to leave later on Saturday. I think i'm gonna be tired, but it's worth it.

Now, i'm going to go to bed so I can take a nap until Link gets back from his evening shift around 1am. We want to watch Up together. But I still need a little shut-eye.

Also, god damn I love mandarine ice tea. I am so addicted to special flavor ice teas. It's incredible!

I've had things like that happen to me before, although it's usually words. (I learn a word I've never heard before, and suddenly I keep hearing it everywhere!) It can be kind of fun, although sometimes I wonder if I'm going crazy as well. ^_-

Lulz, that's so funny! I also named two of my systems Lina and Amelia...only I don't use those systems anymore. x.x

"It's a little weird how fiction can be omnipresent in our mind."

So true. It might weird, but it certainly is amusing and fun. :3 My husband and I always get a good chuckle when we're somewhere and we see someone who would be a dead ringer for *insert character's name here*.

That is hysterical btw -- Lina and Amelia systems. XD I would have cracked the biggest smirk if that were me.

Did you ask why the systems were called that? Heh, heh. Could there be a secret or former Slayers fan lurking at your work? (I see at least one woman in the mirror every morning who doesn't fit the generalized anime fan demographic.)

Naaaw. No anime fans in the workplace :( But I did take it as a ''This truly is the job you should have. You have chosen well and I shall prove it to you thru this coincidence'' type of omen.

Maybe the guy who programmed the systems was a Slayers fan.

Just after I finished watching Slayers for the first time I took a sewing class. And two of my classmates (who also happened to be inseparable best friends) were named Lina and Amelia. I had to stifle my giggles all day when we ended up working together! XD

They're really called that?! Awesome! Maybe there's another Slayers fan in the office! I wish I had fellow fans in my office... TT_TT

And I am totally planning on crocheting myself a Gryffindor scarf sometime soon...

Just watched UP today. Totally makes me tear up everytime...
