So, I started my new job today. Not much to report aside from the fact that I am tired and will most likely keep being tired until I am used to the job.

I work in a strange building that was a factory for various things (including Coleco Toys!) over the years. Then it was turned into lofts, then separated into various business offices for various companies that range from business services to web services to community theatre. As such, the building is full of strange things, including a lot of may-be-fake-but-kinda-feel-real-when-I-poke-them suits of armors. It's neat. I like a strange workplace. :D

This weekend in Montreal it's the Expozine, aka fair for self-published comics. I really want to go. But I think I gotta go to Ottawa this weekend for family affairs. *sigh* So many things to do, so many conflicting dates!!!

I'm working on my own comics. Especially Psychopomp. I'm having a lot of trouble figuring out how to build the scenario. I figured out what I want to happen in the story, but not really how to start it off. Basically, I don't know which character has to get the ball rolling. I think I may start with the character of Death.

The art for psychopomp is pretty! LOOK:

And on that note...

Sounds like a very eclectic workplace indeed! It reminds me of the one time a century ago when I entered the basement of our local community clubhouse, there were so many things! I still remember how odd it was coming across a painting of Miss Piggy. It was very well done in a fancy frame and everything! I wish I could sneak back in there and see what else is hidden... But seriously, Coleco? Aside from Cabbage Patch Dolls (yes, I had one and really adored him) I never used anything else they made. That's kind of cool though, a definite blast from the past.

It's good to start a story off with a hook of some sort to draw the reader in. I guess find what character can provide that, then go from there. Would that I had more insight to offer, but I only remember the basics of the idea. I have faith in you to figure something out. ^_-

Sad thing is? I look at the art and think, "How much fumes did Isa inhale in the production of said artwork?" ^_~

Hmm ... when you get a moment, want to do some brainstorming? I'm off work until Wednesday evening and pretty much plan to spend the time off piddling around here cleaning, working on projects and Christmas gifts, etc. Maybe it'll help loosen your mind a bit?

Dude, that's pure 100% unadulterated Creativity. It's rather potent stuff! I just don't usually talk about how it affects me.. (And I think you're better off not knowing.) ^_-

Building sounds like a neat place! Our building is just an ordinary office building. Our office suite used to be a dentist's office...

Pretty art is pretty...

Sounds like a strange-but-cool place to work. :3 Not every workplace has suits of armor lol. If I were there I just know my imagination would be zooming into overdrive.

Sweet! Funky workplaces are the best!

And good luck getting Psychopomp off the ground. I've found that it's not hard to come up with a good story idea. The hardest thing is figuring out how to properly execute it.

Hey Isa! I was hoping to see you at ExpoZine this weekend! I finally got around to passing by Fichtre last week and flipped through Rose. It was really cool to see all those images you've shared online in print :) I thought for sure I'd be able to pick up a copy from you at the zine fair but I guess it'll have to be another time.

Keep at it!

Well, I'm always available to meet other buddy artists you know! I might actually go to 'zine. I,m still debating between wether to go to the family stuff or Expozine. Both are cool things. And both are a once-a-year occasion. Decisions are hard!

Let me know where you'll be in expozine anyways. If I decide to go, maybe I can find you!
