....Seriousness never lasts very long around me.

Awesome cool news. I managed to contact some old friends from college here in Montreal. One of them is going to come by this weekend. The others are pretty busy... But at least I have their contact info now! Yay! I missed them!

I also got an email from someone who had picked up a ROSE in a book store. She wrote to tell me how much she liked it. That was really sweet!

I went to get art materials today. Okay, for you canadians out there, you all know what a 'Wallacks' is right? It's a great art material store, though the prices are a little high. There is a few of those stores in Ontario. But none in Montréal. In Montréal they have something called Omer De Serre which is more of a granny and kid craft store then an art store. I didn't find HALF of what I needed. Next time I go to Ottawa, i'm totally going to a Wallacks and STOCKING UP ON STUFF!

Despite not finding art stuff, I still found a few things while shopping today... including:

PIKMINS PLUSHIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah. They disapear when I startle them. MWAHAHAHA.

It's a little late, but here is a great picture of Link's (Double-sided) Halloween costume. He constructed it before going to work (I didn't see it.) and tried to scare me when he got home wearing it. Unfortunatly, as you all know, creepy really doesn't get to me that much. So it failed. But it's still a pretty sweet costume. He organized a little Halloween celebration at his job for his team (Link is a lead in a mobile game testing team at Electronic Arts here in Montreal). Me thinks he's a good little boss XD

Over and Out!

Somehow you with Pikmin will not end well. I can hear their little death cries already! (Seriously though, awesome find! I've yet to come across Pikmin plushies in my Seattle quests.)

Do you not have many choices in art stores up there? That seems really messed up somehow. It might be worth doing a bit of snooping to see if there's something close by. (And Pascal's costume looks pretty cool! It's funny to see his eyes though since I know what the rest of his face looks like, so it takes away the spookiness for me.) ^_-

Oh yeah, don't eat the white Pikmin. They're poisonous! :D

At a store here they have all the pickim. I mean, all of them. They are expensive (25$ per pikmin) but I do plan to have several eventually. Because I need more mascotts.

I think an independant art store might be good for me.

Several? But there are only...I think there are five different kinds now. (Red, Yellow, Blue, Purple and White.) That's really expensive though, but I guess Montreal is pretty far away from Japan. You might almost be better off sewing up a few of them. (Disregard me and sewing in the same sentence just now.)

I did a search on Google last night for art stores and a lot came up, but since I don't know exactly where you are it was only so helpful. It is definitely worth looking into though. I'd be going a bit crazy here in Idaho if I didn't know there was an art/craft store just down the road, even if I don't go often. I just like knowing one is nearby should I need it.

Those plushies are sooo cute. I have no idea what Pikmins are, but they are cute lol. <3 And that is an awesome costume! I like the concept of it being double-sided -- that was a cool twist. :3

Pikmin is a strategy game that came out for the Gamecube (later getting a sequel). You play a little spaceman who can grow the little plant creatures then uproot them to make use of them to fight creatures, collect parts, and grow more Pikmin. It's actually a pretty cool game courtesy of Shigeru Miyamoto. ^_-

Oh, ok. :3 Thank you for clearing that up. I will need to check into that -- it sounds cool.

Yay! for a job (from your last post)
and BOO for bashing my work... even though it's kinda true :P
The Deserres in ottawa has more art stuff, but it is true that the last couple months, all our new products have been kids & crafts related *sigh*....
tell me when you next come to ottawa! I haven't been to a Wallacks in forever (i wonder why.. :P)and we could go art-shopping together!
Also, i couldn't help but notice that you showed us Link's costume, but not yours.... what gives? :P

Dude, I don't know if all Omer De Serre are like that, but I went to the one considered 'the best one' in this area and there was barely any realy art stuff, though I have to admit the oil paint selection was nice and I found some good watercolor paper.

AND YES! I don't know when i'm going to ottawa next (I might be going next week... I'll keep you posted) I totally want to go on an art/comic treck with you!! Let's do it!

I didn't have a costume :( I had nowhere to wear one so I decided not to do it to save money.

Yeah, unfortunately the omer deserres are tending to become more about 'higher crafts' then art supplies. Although our store has a decent amount of 'pure' art supplies (of course, it probably helps that the one in ottawa is the biggest one in canada....)

and I *LOVE* that you put art shopping and comic shopping together, even though i didn't mention shopping.... but i did think about it, since it's a given we would go since it's smack in front of the comic book shoppe! :D

and I didn't have money either, but I was working, and we were highly encouraged to dress up... so I embroidered a star trek insignia, sewed it on a long-sleeved blue shirt, wore some skinny black jeans, et voila! instant trekkie! ;)

So let me know when you're going to hit town! (i know it might be impossible, but if you tell me about 2 weeks in advance, I could take a saturday off!)

Those plushies are cute.

That's too bad about the art store. I would have thought there would be more choices in Montreal. There's only been one store in Fredericton that sells serious art supplies, I don't know what I would have done without it.

I don't need much to do art, but when I can't even find the basic pens I like, It makes me sad

Well, now I've heard of Wallacks! ~.^ We don't have it in my city either (that I know of, anyway). I would think that there'd have to be a good art store somewhere over there, considering what a busy city it is.

Pikmin, Ooooooh~ XD

Ha ha! You are too funny my dear ;) Your comics are always well stated and drawn :P

Awesome costume!

And I so know what you mean about buying art supplies! Gah! Nothing more maddening then shopping for needed art supplies where the store clerks look at you like you have another head!
