Wow, I just spent a lazy couple of days. I spent most of them with a friend, watching movies I've been meaning to see, like HOWL'S MOVING CASTLE! Woots! It's a great movie, completly worth it. I read the original book a while back. I went nuts over it, I loved how Howl the wizard was a real crybaby that threw mystical fits once in a while. 
The movie adaptation is pretty good, it respects the book fairly well and yet feels very different. The english dub was pretty good too (no people talking with their mouth close or not talking with their mouth open. Good lines too. Nice choices of voice actors) I managed to watch it in english without doing my usual "Oh god this is really awful voices" crindge (developed by watching french dubs of american movies. I still don't get why americans insist on translating their own movies. The text is always horrible and childish and the voice actors sound like mice)
I loved the interpretation of calcifer, the fire demon. Imagine my suprise when I noticed Billy Christal was his dubber O_O It fits so well!
I any case, I just had to draw a Sophie and Howl fanart. I went deep into the pile of drawings I had done after reading the book and changed my invented clothes for the movie's clothing. A few touch-ups and Voilà! Beautiful colored fanart XD
I also finished drawing Relina for Ichiban, the final version. It's not colored yet, because I wasn't aware if the character had a certain set of colors I needed to respect.
Aside from that, tomorrow one of my friends and his twin brother and sister are celebrating their common birthday (triplets, imagine that!). I've been staring at the pile of homework on my desk and thinking maybe I could ditch it to go see them (i've been invited) but then again, I really need to work...Gah! Not to mention i've been harassing that guy for the past couple of days XD I guess it's better if I don't go, so he can see his brothers and friends and such. 
I've never really been much of a party person either way. I tend to be antisocial and shy. Especially when the party is full of people I don't know. 
Oh well. Guess it's gonna be a magical weekend of homework fun for me. (oh, the exaliration.)

(looks at Howl/Sophie) Aw! It's so cute! Personally, I like both the movie and the book for different reason. I like how Sophie and Howl argue in the book, but they're just so cute in the movie.

I really enjoy the dub and I think Billy Crystal is a great Califer.

"Here's another curse, may your bacon burn!" LOL I just love that line. I also enjoy the fact the Crispin Freeman (who does the english voice of Zelgadis) does the prince in the dub. ^_^

Refresh my memory, wasn't Suliman a guy in the books? I kept thinking "Wasn't he a guy?" during the whole movie.
Yes, I miss the Sophie/howl fights. I read the follow up book (Castle in the clouds) and was quite amused when Howl commented that his son "Looked funny" and then when Sophie replied that Howl "Looked funny too"

Your drawings are really cute. I like the Cupid and Psyche one. XD However, would Zel really fit has a god of incredible beauty? Maybe from a fan girl's point of view.

Yeah he was and he also married Lettie. Howl's teacher was a woman though, so I guess they just thought to combine the two characters together.

XD However, would Zel really fit has a god of incredible beauty? Maybe from a fan girl's point of view.

LOL Probably not, but I made him to be more of a anti-social god and in my fan fic I made Martina his mother aka "The Goddess of Love". Scary huh?

Ah, yeah, it seems like they tried to combine both. I like the movie's suliman too though, she kicks serious ass! I regret that they din't put the whole sister mix-up in the movie, but that probably would have turned out to be very confusing.
I need to buy the pocket book of Howl. I've been waiting for the povket book to come out so I could buy it (the hard cover was a little over my budget. Why are the hardcovers always so expensive?)
Martina as aphrodite? Damn, that can't be good for her ego. Some major pompous annoyance coming.

Disney knows how to make a good dub, that's all I can say.

And oh my gosh! Awesome! Relina looks downright scary with her rightous might! As for coloring...there's not anything really specific. Blonde hair, green eyes, beyond that, I trust you to go with whatever you think looks good. (My sense of color stinks when it comes to coloring clothing...)

Seeing as she is an elf, I think green would seem...natural. (Not to pun, or anything!) You have no idea how awesome that picture is! I'm sitting over here wanting to leap around and show off the picture to my gaming group back home..but I can't! ^_^; I need my sewing supplies!

I regret the scan turned out so twisted (damn the school photo scans, hate them so much!) I mainly though of green because i'm currently reading a book called "The knights of Emerald" where all the knights are dressed in green armor. A lot of my friends though the drawing of Relina was a drawing of the book's main character Kira (because Kira is a girl who is said to have long hair in a braid). So I kept thinking maybe green armor would be the way to go, with a slight golden trim to make her hair shine.

I swiped the scan just to see if it would look normal when I opened it in Photoshop, and it looked just fine. I wonder if it might be a problem with LJ? (Or maybe you do have very odd scanners..)

A price? Hum...I'll have to think about it.
I don't usually sell my originals so I don't have a general idea. The rare times I do it I usually charge for the number of time I spent on it multiplied by minimum salary standards. Here in canada the minimum salary is 7.50, but since you're american i'll pull it down to 5 because of monetary difference. I spent about 2 hours on the drawing, so that would be about 10 to 12.50 bucks (if you're feeling generous) plus postage money (i usually pay the postage when people send me stuff back but since it's one-way here, I usually charge it to the person. It's about 2 to 3 canadian dollards so 2.50)So, whatever you feel like giving between 10 and 15 really, plus about 2.50 for postage. I don't think that's too expensive or too cheap.
