My, what a week. I worked late a lot this week and work was hectic. I had a few deadlines to meet and it is also the last week for us to prepare for the Montréal group Exhibit at Nuit Blanche. so it's been busy. For the group Exhibit, I am actually building a blog to show our works. The blog is here - http://focusgroupart.blogspot.com/ It's kinda empty right now, but I plan to add artist statements and images over the course of the weekend. The group project is a contemporary quilt, and it looks awesome! I can't wait to be at Nuit Blanche and take photos of the exhibit happening.

We ran into a bit of trouble concerning the quilt's supporting structure. :( Bah!

I didn't really have much free time to draw comics this week. Being kinda tired when I got home, I spent my time watching Slayers instead (but I only watched 4 episodes..Gah.) Watching the old slayers boxsets makes me miss the drawing style. The Drawing style in the new series is great, don't get me wrong. And the animation is awesome. But I really like Slayers Next; Very fluid animation, good expressions and great drawings. I loved how they added little lines everywhere to add drama and details. Of course, those little lines were unstable and made the characters look different frame by frame, but I love it none the less (Especially the line detail during the Halcyform arc). The little linework was sacrificed for the fluidity of the animation, which is understandable. But I still love the originality and expression it adds.

And speaking of little lines - Lo and below...COMIC BOOK COVER.

The Story is going to get called "Rose" and it is a strange adaptation of Romeo and Juliet.

Check out the final design of Juliet:

Eeeeeee. Lines.

Hmm...lines? I think I know what you mean, but for the life of me I can't think of anything. I did randomly watch a scene from Next on YouTube last night, evil Gourry kicking everyone's butt, and while the animation's a bit jerky at times it still holds up well enough. Heck, I just love Next anyway. (It's just bad to watch anime after watching Disney movies! The animation's always going to look funny by comparison.) Next will always be my favorite season, no matter what!

..is that a flower sticking out of the shadow's head? ^_- The cover looks really good! (I am curious about the quilt though. Sewing projects can be so evil! *laugh*)

Chekc it out here -http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7yE5Pvr1p74

For some reason the end of that episode is lousy with little lines.

The quilt is going really weel though, and it looks fantastic! We have very talented sewing goddesses on our group. I'm not one of them though, hence why i'm on website duty XD

It's the curse! The Curse of Halcyform!! As soon as I saw Lina I knew what you meant. I'd not even really noticed the lines being gone...some artist I am! Oh well. I always found them a bit odd, myself. They looked like someone scratched their faces. (I have noticed the lines in different anime, but only certain characters have them. I wish I knew exactly what it meant!)

And wow, the dub. That brought back memories! I sure hope we get the original English dub cast back for the new seasons...

(I look forward to seeing the finished quilt!)

Naw. This is a SERIOUS strange version. His track reccord works against him.

It's too bad that comic never got finished!

That Rose comic looks really trippy! I can't wait to see some actual story panels; I bet they'll be really cool.

About the lines in Slayers...in some scenes they add to the story. But in others it just makes the characters look scratched up and/or dirty. It makes since in episodes like the Halcyform episode you linked (Yay Funimation for providing free Slayers to the masses!) but in others it just looks weird.

And speaking of Funimation....good God they need to fire whoever writes the episode descriptions for the Slayers eps on YouTube! Oy vey! >_<

Ah, funimation. I can<t decide if I like them or don<t. It seems like they try to do a good job but screw up somewhat... The panels are going to be pretty trippy. The collection i<m doing it for likes weird stuff, and I plan to deliver.
