HAPPY 2009-RELATED HOLIDAYS EVERYBODY!

Don't let the elves bite.

I dedicate this comic to a friend of mine who's character was always associated to dreamworlds, hope and water in our stories. She's in for a pretty life-altering 2009, and i'm hoping it will go well for her.

Huuuuh.... message for all you people expecting a drawing as an xmas gift? Yeah, due to much overtime last week I didn't finish and I prefer waiting after the giant xmas break to finish and send them off. I hope you won't all mind waiting (I promise it's worth it).

Last but not least, I finish work on the 24th and on the 25 i'm headed to visit my family in Québec City until the 28th-29th. I will then stay in Montréal with Link for the rest of the break (aka: until january 2nd). Then it's back to work and distribution of xmas gifts to local friends. Most the people I know are off doing whatnot on the 24th, so I can't really give it to them before I leave :( Boo.

I wrap presents in shiny paper. OUH TEH SHINIEZ.

-Isa

Awww, very sweet drawings today.

I don't mind waiting. After all, good things come to those who wait!!

^____^

I hope you get my card before you leave!

Aw! That is very sweet and it has a good message.

I would say it's a good idea to wait until after Christmas to mail presents. I remember I mailed mine last year and it seemed to take a lot longer than normal due to the backlog of mail.

Besides, it gives us something to look forward too. ^_~

...you mean you make drawings for people? Really? ^_- Seriously though, I really don't want for anything this year aside from friends. Heck, it would make my day if you were suddenly here and I could drag you off to the parks for a day! (But since I can't have that, all I really want is to know what you think of the package that should be arriving on Wednesday.)

I always did like the Pandora story. Heck, it makes me think to Biblical things, and how even there we are told that we need to have opposites (like Good and Evil) to really appreciate life. Life isn't always going to be fun, it's never ever easy, but by and large and still good. I'd not want it any other way!

A very nice, heartfelt, and true message! ^__^ I remember a couple years ago in one of my essays for French class, I wrote about how the pain and bad things in life are worth going through for friendships and loved ones.

Here's hoping there's more good than bad this coming year!

Hopefully! Otherwise, I hope it stays tucked in my mailbox.

Gah, mail this time of year is evil. I actually have to deal with messenger services for work and it's PAIN.

...Oh, c'mon, you WANT a drawing.

.......................Plus it's already half-done.

The bible actually adapted several greek myth to add in certain parts of it. The Noah flood story has an equivalent greek myth that may have been it's inspiration. It happened during the renaissance when greek myths where really popular in culture and arts. They also have a lot of greek philisophy and science included in the bible itself. After all, if it did get started in the roman empire, it's only natural.

Well, if you've already started on something then it would just be rude of me to say no! ....okay, who am I kidding? You know I adore your drawings! Just don't send anything to Florida since I'll be leaving here next Friday. (MUST PACK!)

Given that the English translation came from the Greek translation (as opposed to the original Hebrew), the Roman and Greek influence would be a given. Sometimes I do wonder why no one went back to translate from the original source material, but I guess what we have has worked so well since Greek philosophies and the like are so well-ingrained into present society it makes no sense to do so. (As it is, people have a hard enough time understanding versions that are written in Olde English!)

Whee, history of religion and the like really all is wrapped together in a rather jumbled mess. Still, it says something that Greek mythology has remained intact for centuries after the fact. Plus, got to love the fact I'm named after an idolatrous goddess, according to the Bible. O:)

Awwwwww.

Very pretty little story. I really like it.

The drawings are quite simple, but the message speaks volumes.

Awesome job.

You've expressed the beauty of the theme of all winter holiday celebrations: hope that lights the way when metaphorically and physically days are darkest. And hope can't be found without people to bring it to light. This holiday greeting of yours is a wonderfully inclusive gift.

I also love the illustrations and the "sound effects". Memories of crunching through the snow myself hit me very hard as I look out at the cold evironment, but rarely cold enough for snow deep enough to "fch" in or make snowballs with.

My mother nearly named me Pandora. Thank goodness she didn't. I never would have survived junior high school.

Happy holidays to you, too, Isa!

Judaism and Christianity were small, regional religions and suppressed. It took over 300 years for Christianity to be accepted by the Roman Emperor and for it to spread throughout the Roman Empire unimpeded. The Christian Bible as we know it was squabbled over and many texts by various authors in various languages were accepted and rejected. Chances of original Hebrew/Aramaic text reaching England in the fifteen and sixteen hundreds would have been slim.

The discovery of the ancient Dead Sea Scrolls in the last century and the slow piecing together and translation of them make for very exciting times for Biblical scholars.

With all of that going on, when did you want to exchange gifts?

I'm not really sure. I know Fauve is stuck in family stuff (she's going to see Pascal's parents) until the 3rd. I'm most likely going to be gone until the 3rd myself, but I wanted to be home for the 3rd at night if possible. So we could meet on the 4th or something, or later during the week. Fauve ends work pretty early and I'm pretty adaptable, so whenever you might be free is good for me :)

I spent time with my aunt Charlotte today. It's great, she's so nice :)

Did you see your cousins yet? (I'm almost disapointed they don't fear me anymore)

Actually, I might try to get there for the 3rd in the morning, (AKA leaving on the second) but someone tells me greyhound might be closed or whatever. Next time I shall travel my train.

Hey! I just checked greyhound and they do have montréal-Ottawa trips available on the 2nd. So, let me know when you are available (on the 3rd, the 4th or another time) and i'll make sure i'm there on that day! :)
