However you dress like, someone is bound to also think it's cool and do the same. I noticed a lot of the fashion of the 80's returned (leggings, flatsole shoes, puffy coats, flat hats, legwarmers.) You know what? The second time around it better. Back in the day these things seemed horrible. Now they look better. I'm personnally still stuck in the 70's. I like patchs, bright colors, wool, flip-flops, tie-dyes, platform shoes, funky belts...I like bell bottom pants. I think tigh jeans make me look like a gin bottle. Actually, I'm kinda sad that the bell bottoms are leaving gradually as straight tight cuts are coming back. Nooooooo!

I wore tight cuts in high school before switching to bell bottoms. I am never, never going back to the tight straight cut. It's unconfortable and looks like crap on me. I will modify all the clothing I buy if I have too, but there's no way in hell anything is going to clasp around my ankles anytime soon. Yeech.

I do like the flat sole shoes though. And the pashmina stash. So that's a few good things I'm happy to see return. The leggings are pretty sweet too, as long as they stop at my knee.

It kinda made me think about Lina Inverse, all this return to the 80's in fashion stuff. Lina's costume is 80's to the max. I guess she'd look good in the current canadian fashion.

Okay, that was my girly whine of the week. I will now proceed of talking about Ninja pirates. (who of course are very different from pirate-ninjas. Pirates ninjas are sneaky pirates. Ninja pirates are ninjas with sailing abilities. LOL.)

Speaking of Clone wars though, as anybody seen the way Padme is dressed in the mountain picnic scene? That's exactly how I imagined Ozma in my head! Perfect princess of Oz!

I wish Padme was cooler in the movies though. She could have rocked like her daughter Lea, but instead she just sucked. Meh.

Aside from all this girly stuff, I'm fine. I'm not really sure how this post got so girly. I hang too much with girl friends and gay men. *laughs* The school stuff goes well. It's almost over. my last exam is on the 16th of december. Wooo!!!! One month and i'm done. Technically, classes end around the 10th, so i'll have free time to study and do some chrismas shopping. Unfortunatly, this year, i'm totally broke because I quit my job to complete my unpaid internship (which is also, almost done! Woo! Then I can go back to work for money!!!!!) so my presents might be very modest.... It's why i'm proposing drawings to most people! *laughs* Heck, people seem to like it, and god knows I put a lot of effort in them...

Oh, man, I really need to start updating more often...damn lack of time.

Hey, I also saw the last Unicorn on Tv yesterday (speak of the 80's!!!) I miss that movie. I'd like to get it on DVD some day... Sigh....pretty pretty unicorn (damn return of the girly....I am doomed today it seems!)

This comic made me laugh....

Hehehe, sucker Lir.
Over and out!

I find my fashion is a mixture of the two. I like my flat hats, but I also like bell bottom pants and things in bright colours. Mind you, I never really follow fashion trends all that much. I usually go with clothes that I think are cute and look good on me. Although, I agree, Lina would look great in 80's clothing.

That comic makes me laugh. I own the 25th anniversary edtion DVD and it's great. They put a few extra features like an interview with Peter S. Beagle. I never read the original novel, that's something I should get around to doing someday.

I think drawings would be a perfect present. I love seeing them. ^_^

Fashion wise, I used to be pretty retro and out of fashion until fashion became retro and weird...

I'd love the 25th edition dvd! I think I'll ask my mom to get it for me on xmas. She's always asking me what I want for xmas. It seems like a good suggestion.

I can't believe I used to peg my jeans when I was in Jr. High. I too, don't like the tighter legs. Me likeys the boot cut. I just bought another pair yesterday and yes, they were boot cut.

And nothin' wrong with bein' girlie. I'm pretty girlie myself from time to time. Like yesterday when I was watching Princess Tutu. I squealed. I cried. I got giddy...

The Last Unicorn!!!! *squee* I LOVE that movie! In my RP forum, the character I play has white hair JUST like Lady Amalthea!!

Well, now off to watch more Tutu...

Boot cut is the best thing ever. Despite the disapearance of bell bottoms and the return of art-school type tight pants, we can take confort in knowing that boots are there for us XD

Girly is good once in a while, as long as it's not evil girly. I have a few girls in my class with whom I have mutual hate. They don't like me because apparently i'm rude and mean. I think they are pompous, frou frou selloffs.

Yeah, those kind of girls annoy me. Sometimes if people like to keep to themselves and are quiet, that means they're rude. Go figure...

God. Of course you do. *laughs* You gotta admit, there's some serious frou frou action going on there.

Oh, to be surrounded by the world again. When I'm in Idaho I tend not to see current fashion trends, but what is current in Utah. It's still the 'layered' look: long undershirt, possibly a short shirt on top of that, and even a short pullover to go with it. (I only conform to the style because I bought a short pullover because I refused to buy a brown or pink 'normal' pullover. Such bad colors this past year.) It gets really boring when everyone is sporting the layered look, plus the super straight hair (is no one allowed to have wavy or curly hair?), or worst yet, the 'beehive' or whatever that Utah hairdo is called. It looks like a bad ponytail to me...

Anyway, 'flares' are the current bellbottoms, but I was never a fan. Some jeans flare out ridiculously too much, so you can't even see the person's feet. I prefer bootcut jeans, but I'd take either over those tight-legged jeans again! I saw a girl wearing some on campus the other day and cringed. That was not a better part of my childhood.

As for Padme, heck, ALL of the newer cast in the new Star Wars movies, they were pretty dull compared to the originals. Princess Leia herself definitely kicked butt. I might have to watch the movies again...

(I'd have replied a lot earlier today, but either LJ went down, or my internet decided it didn't like LJ because it wouldn't let me load this page at all. It was odd.)

gaaaaaah.... All the rather fashionnable girls of my classes are doing the tight pants thing. It's terrible. They can sortoff make it work...but I dunno. I'd never go back to it.

Well, I wore bellbottoms when they first appeared in the Dark Ages of the sixties. So I have to giggle at their return under a new name. Since I actually wear boots, the boot cut jeans are fine with me! Flats being back also make me happy since I tend to turn my ankles easily and my aged back swears at me when I wear too high heels or platforms.

Aw, Gourry looks so happy with Lina in her more modern outfit! They look so cute in that pose.

My god, vintage 60's! *laughs*

What i'm wondering is what's going to happen when fashion of the 90's return....fashion of the 90's was fashion of the 70's....are we stuck in a 60's-70's-80's loop? If so, I hope poodle skirts return. Those are cute.

Yeah, I missed slayers fluff.

Lina and Gourry pracically have 80s hair anyways. It's appropriate. Come to think of it, Sylphiel wears those horrible bandy pants that were invented in the 80s.

[Quavery old lady voice] In my day, young'uns, those were called stirrup pants or ski pants. Although I don't think what Sylphiel wears are pants, but are dance tights of the kind with no toe or heel, especially good for dancing barefoot in modern dance.

I wish I had the DVD. The VHS is a bit strange; the character fall out of the frame often during conversation, since it was meant to be wide screen...

Well, if you still want one, i'm open to do it. I'd most likely be less expensive then at the auction :)
